    Hyatt Let Us Down when we were stranded with a cancelled flight

    We were a stranded American Family in Aruba over new years who was staying at the Hyatt when our return flight on Saturday was cancelled due to activity in Venezuela. The Hyatt Front Desk Staff, without promoting or ask, said they would comp the room charges for my family as we worked to secure passage home. We saw this as not only generous, but the one meaningful gesture of care and support for our family in a crisis moment where no flights were available within a week's time. But they lied. In the end the stay, Hyatt charged us $900/night as a captive and vulnerable "guest" who honestly was at their mercy. Adding a few thousand of expense that we didn't plan to expend for this trip. Overall the airlines and hotel and the tourist authorities in Aruba were terrible in this emergency situation. Hyatt lost an opportunity to win us over as the hotel brand for us with this stunt and dishonesty. I along with my teen daughters continue to prefer the Hilton brand and I think for good reason. Overall, for those stranded we were on our own with no support. Sleepless nights calling airline toll-free numbers and desperate for a way home. As I sit in the AUA airport awaiting my flight back to NY, I am wondering if I will ever return to Aruba for holiday after this experience. I think this BS from Hyatt is likely the end note for me with Aruba. Time will tell. My last image of this trip is the female Hyatt manager laughing at the idea someone told me that they would not charge stranded families, the idea was ridiculous to her and belittling to what families had endured. Stay safe all and I hope every family still stranded gets home safely soon.

    Extended nights in Hyatt Regency Aruba were exceptional

    The Hyatt Regency Spa and Casino in Aruba is a wonderful place to visit. We have been to Aruba about 10 times, always staying at a timeshare. This trip we extended by a couple of nights at the Hyatt Regency and it was the best decision we have made. The Hyatt is a world class property with incredible employees. We rented our fist ever Cabana, and it was fabulous from the people to the experience. The employees in the Casino are some of the most friendly in the world, and the food opportunities are outstanding, but comfort, quality, and service. I'd go back here many times over again if the situation were right. Don't miss this awesome opportunity.

    New years Aruba

    Good options at hotel not great but location was good. Ocean front is not possible you have to pay outside vendors - beautiful property though location - shower water pressure is lacking - fireworks were amazing and music goes until 2 AM - great atmosphere but if you have small kids will probably be a bit more difficult

    A great place for a family vacation

    The resort was lovely. It was crowded as expected but there was no problem getting chairs at the pools or beach. The staff really was exceptional.

    Our home away from home.

    The beautiful beach, fantastic weather and amazing staff make Aruba Hyatt Regency the perfect family vacation spot. We look forward to our time there every year for the past 25 years.
