Average Purchase for the price

We had been to Aruba a couple times and decided to go at the last minute. We booked this resort and paid a little higher price due to timing which is understandable. Overall the resort was average. The rooms were average rooms nothing fancy but livable. The pools were nice and clean. The service was actually better then i would have expected. This resort is for people 50 years old and up. There was not a lot of younger people which is fine if this is what your looking for.I think next time i go to Aruba i will spend the extra and make sure i stay in a newer resort but that what i am looking for. One thing you cant beat is no matter what resort your at the beach and sun is always unbelievable there. I think if you want a quiet resort and could book out to get a decent price Divi would be an option.

They locked us out from our room at 8am and the girl Josie could not reset the key . She was not helpful at all . We are keep saying we will miss the flight get the door open .her attitude was like I don’t care . After an hour maintenance person came and got other key done from second resort . Because Josie did not know what is she doing . I have not seen ever anybody attitude like her . I think she should not be at customer service .

Favorite vacation spot

Love, love, love Divi All-Inclusive! It’s my go to vacation each year. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and happy. Plenty of choices to sit pool side or beach side. Plenty of food and beverage choices. Plenty of options to explore the island if so desired. Aruba is what it says: “one happy island” and Divi is my forever choice. Just got back from there and can’t wait to go back!

Second visit (in 25 years!)

Aruba is more built up than it was 25 years ago (surprise!), but the amazing weather has not changed. We saw no rain, but some beaches are starting to erode and I must admit, the winds can be a bit stiff at times. The Divi All inclusive has several things in its favor, not the least of which is the ability to enjoy the Tamarijn right next door. This is where the fitness center is and we felt the entertainment was a bit better, though many of the "acts" rotate. It has recently been renovated and seems a bit more impressive than the Divi. There seemed to be about the same number of children at each place. Also, the Tamarijn has three "specialty restaurants to the Divi's two. The shuttles run constantly from place to place. Food was fine. I honestly don't know what people are expecting at these all inclusives. There was a carving station every evening (leg of lamb, red snapper, roast turkey, rib eye, sirloin, pork loin are the ones I remember). Breakfast literally has just about anything you could want. Try the mini Dutch pancakes. There were probably a hundred different things you can try at each meal. Each evening has a "theme", some were better than others. We tried specialty restaurants Ginger, Paparazzi and Palm Grill at the Tamarijn. All were pretty good. The Red Parrot at the Divi was bland. So was the service here. We were pleased overall, though the crepe maker seemed to be only at The Tamarijn. I would avoid most tropical drinks as they don't use good stuff in them. E.g., there was no coconut cream in anything. Stick to G&T, for example. The local beer, Balashi, is quite good. Our room was fine- no frills, but housekeeping was thorough, even washing the floor each day and giving us clean towels whether we needed them or not. A/C was good.. One complaint- why the DJ has to play at full volume every night is beyond me. Can't see why every part of the resort has to listen to this. The best entertainment in our opinion were the steel drum musician, a young woman playing electric violin and an Aruban Mariachi band! They were talented and funny. We researched for excursions, but in the end the ones offered at the Divi concierge desk were about the same price, We took a half day tour and felt it was very good and worth it. Driver/tour guide was excellent. We found the cab to and from the resort was about the same price as a bus transfer, faster (with no waiting at all) and the drivers are friendly and informative. Public bus to downtown is about $5 round trip. 99% of the staff are great and we were impressed that they all seemed to like each other as well. I advise carrying lots of one dollar bills. A buck or two are really appreciated by these people and they remember you. especially at the bars.
