  Good but not the best.

  The location of this hotel is perfect, it’s in a bay which when on the beach is beautiful. I was a diamond club member and my room when I opened my curtains on the first morning was a let down looking solely at a mountain of trees, my mothers room was facing the bay which was a little better, none the the rooms face the beautiful sea. The rooms are okay, we stayed a week so did what it says on the tin. The room were clean and comfortable. Again it took me moaning that tea, milk kettle etc were not in room for my arrival/ next morning. The atmosphere around the hotel was flat, the vibe team whose should be to get everyone ready day and night ready for the daily activities. The team around pool could not use a Mike, therefore if you were near or in pool, you couldn’t hear that anything was going on. The nightly entertainment was dreadful for a Carribean island with karaoke three times whilst we were there, reggae, soca or soul music should be ringing through the hotel, big up dj ice queen for one evening where she made our week and actually got everyone up dancing in the hotel, well done. I understand that music may not be everyone idea of entertainment in the evenings but culturally that is what the vibe be in a Caribbean hotel whether , steelpan, band, dancers, or local singers. Come on Royalton, please do better. The butler’s within the hotel were very attentive, did their best within restraints of what they could do, I have to say Coco, Shauna Kay, Chaniece, Matika, Francess, were so helpful, so fantastic and went beyond to help us, with reservations in and out of hotels. The restaurants around the complex, we mainly ate at the buffet due to the different choices, however the food not just in the buffet, in the Italian and Caribbean areas were cold, a week of cold food not good. The staff in buffet, such as Hezeldon were great, they really were why we went there each day. The hunter’s restaurant redeemed themselves on our second visit as the first time, I wasn’t impressed the first time and didn’t see where it was classed as a al la carte restaurant. We are out of the complex one evening and wow, that was a Caribbean meal, it was hot and flavoursome. Did we see value for money on our trip, well I am still undecided here, the sun, sea and people fabulous. I and my family have holiday all around travel the world and have stayed in many different hotels. I wanted to visit the Royalton and experience everything your website says but felt a little let down at this time. I spoke to Della, in regards to some concerns I have had this week and hope that these suggestions will be discussed at future meetings higher up. And although I may not return to Royalton Antigua, some of my suggestions may help someone/ families in the future, The hotel has many good things the could make it a wonderful 5* hotel but presently I can’t see it being more it being more than just a 4* Anyway as I close my review, I hope management take heed and that any future persons read this review before they decide to book and helps with your decision.

  Chilled Relaxing Holiday

  Lovely location on the bay with pool and facilities on a sandy beach. Lovely chilled vibe with friendly staff. Had a well equipped room with all the amenities you would expect with a superb bay view. We loved watching the cruise ships go in to St John’s. Plenty of choice for food and drink and the food from the Diamond Club Grill by the pool was delicious. Great choice of premium drinks - Grey Goose Vodka and Hendricks Gin were some of the varieties on offer. Coffee shop open from 0630 with lovely coffees, snacks and ice cream. Staff were friendly and helpful and if by chance they ran out it was quickly replenished and the staff would seek you out to make sure you had your drink. Good value holiday as everything was Included, the only monies we spent over and above the cost were trips outside the hotel - Dickinson Bay and Shirley Heights. Would recommend climbing Fort Barrington at the end of the beach the views were exceptional from the top.

  Superb location. Get up early for best beds!

  Stayed for a week and all in all good. We stayed in the diamond club and had and amazing room. The check in and check procedure was easy as all done in the diamond club lounge. We were allocated 2 butlers for the week which were nearly always on hand via WhatsApp which is great. Ours sorted all our tabke bookings in evening if you wanted to do the different restaurant. Being typically british we didn't use them other than this! The only day we had an issue i will explain later. Food in the resort was good and plentiful and you will never go hungry. The Italian is the best by far. Service around the resort was very hit and miss, if you got a good one they were great and of you didn't, well...not so much! Location and beach were incredibly and by far the selling point. We did have 1 issue where o became violently ill with sickness and diarrhea. I was awake from 2am being incredibly ill. We were told to call the butlers regarding anything so my wife did, disappointing to say that she herself had to go an complain to a manager/supervisor at 1pm as we had heard nothing. This left a very disappointing feeling on what had been a great week. Since returning I have also emailed the hotel as after learning that there were atleast another 4 couples who were also ill but I still haven't heard back hence why I am now only leaving the review. In summary, I woukd come back as I am sure it was just a bug but woukd of been nice for someone to recognise that there were others.

  Chess man great

  Played a game with the chess man! Such a good time! Interesting concept and caught our eye. Learned a lot from him definitely recommend

  Beautiful resort with kind staff. You get what you give!

  Beautiful resort, gorgeous beach! Majority if staff were incredible, Maliki took great care of us getting us involved and took the time to tell us about Antigua. We did a walk through the grounds/beach and he explained the trees and what they were and provided to the island. He cracked some almonds and let us try. Just an all around nice young man who made our trip extra special. Find him on the beach or by the activity areas. Food was great, grounds beautiful, drinks they ran out of a few things but many other options, we are on a small island, easy to run out of certain items. We will be back!
