Dec 30, 2025A wonderful family holiday in a world class location.
We visited with a large group over the Christmas period. Before arriving we had read some of the bad reviews and had concerns however these were unfounded and unfair. The resort is set in a breathtaking location on one of the best beaches on the island which has managed to remain relatively wild and quiet. We saw turtles everyday in the bay, which popped up when you kayaked or swam near them and the wildlife is exceptional. The hotel whilst not perfect is clean comfortable and has everything you need. The beds were some of the best we have slept in and the rooms we were in were quiet. The food is what you would expect at an all inclusive in the Caribbean, plentiful, varied and tasty. The hilghts, pastries were exceptional (French bakery level) the lowlights the fruit was poor and imported which seems ridiculous given the location. The service in the restaurants ranged from outstanding (Gail in the Italian) to downright rude on a couple of occasions (in the buffet). The entertainment was decent and everyone in our family enjoyed what we saw. Dancing on the beach after the fire show at white night was a hilight of the holiday! They offer a guided walk to the fort above the island an this fascinating and the guide was hugely informative on not only the history of the area but the local faun and flora. Antigua is a beautiful island and it is well worth getting out of the resort to discover. We hired a car and explored the island which was easy to do and great fun. We can also confirm bar Little Ffrys beach Deep Bay (the beach the hotel is set on) is the best on the island. Royalton Antigua is great value for money on a very expensive island and whilst not perfect the team are working so hard to make everyone happy. The few minor issues were sorted out quickly and efficiently with regular follow-ups checking that we were all OK. We loved our sta and to stay on Deep Bay was a privilege
