Phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal
I can't begin to tell you how awesome this resort was. I went for my 50th birthday and I could not have asked for anything better. The food was good, staff was very friendly, rooms were beyond phenomenal, drinks was good with extra shots....lol. entrainment was on point. I really enjoyed Ricky. Elizabeth was my host for my birthday which made me feel extra special. Rafael the chief took care of my needs with me needing a special diet. I can go on and on about this place. The most enjoyable experience was that NO ONE hustled me about a time share or rewards program. I also enjoy a feet massage on the beach while David got my drinks. I will be back for sure.

Luxury service
The service is top notch here. Not only is the staff very attentive and responsive to your requests but they also seem genuinely happy. It makes a difference. It’s a smaller property compared to other all inclusives I’ve been to but it seems that allows the team to focus on quality over quantity. The food, overall was much better here. It’s not really a party crowd, fairly quiet pool scene and evenings are chill. But the pool has plenty of day beds so no need to try and reserve your spot at the crack of dawn every morning.

A Beautiful Property with Amazing Food
My wife and I spent 6 nights at Live Aqua. We had a list of things we were celebrating so we upgraded to one of the Fuego suites. The suite was huge. The view was amazing. It had a side patio that had Caribbean and bay view in addition to the main balcony. I saw the sun rise every morning and saw it set on a couple of days. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds every. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Having 2 showers was super nice when we got back from the beach and wanted to clean up. I wish the room would have been cooler at night. The thermostat was set to 68. The coolest it read was 73. It felt like 77 or so. That has been the case everywhere I've stayed in Cancun, so not necessarily a ding for Live Aqua. The food was truly top notch everywhere. Highlights were the habanero soup at MB, the poblano soup at Siete, the tomato cream soup at Varenna, the chicken from the grill at lunch (no BBQ sauce needed), and the Greek Chilaquiles at Azure served (for us) by Mauricio who was the absolute best. Hidden Garden was a favorite, but more for the overall experience than for any specific dish. I like spicy, and there was such a range of different habanero sauces at all the restaurants. It was wonderful. The only bad thing I have to say about the food is that I somehow managed to gain 6 pounds in 6 days. The pool areas were great. The infinity pool was wonderful with a great view. It was a bit of a bummer that the swim-up bar was isolated to a small pool on the end. But that may have been a good thing because the rowdier crowd tended to gravitate there making the other areas more serene. Other than an exercise class with really loud music late morning, the infinity pool was pretty quiet. Overall, the service was really good. The drink service at the beach was really good. The waiters and room service were top notch. We had the butler service with a team who covered most of the time we were awake. Maggie was awesome. She checked in with us many times in person, but most communications were via WhatsApp. She took care of dinner reservations. We tend to eat early. The only place where the reservations really seemed to make a difference was at MB. The line to eat there starts early. At the other places there either wasn't a line, or it was really short. She also booked cabanas for us. What they call a butler at Live Aqua is more like what is called a concierge at other places. It isn't like a Sandal's butler. The drinks were generally good. The mixology bar was an evening favorite. I kept asking for something fruity with tequila. Every drink was different, and they were mostly excellent. I will pick a couple of small nits on the drinks. One is that the they don't have the dark Havana Club rum at the main bars. One of our favorite drinks is pina colada with that rum. Since it isn't available in the US, we look forward to it when we go to Mexico. I was expecting it because we have had it at some other resorts in Cancun that aren't as "high end". The Aqua Club had it, but they didn't have a blender to make pina coladas. Another nit is that I couldn't get a proper carajillo at the pool. Whatever they brought me when I ordered one wasn't a carajillo. I could get one at Aqua Club though, and they were really good. The Spa was good. We booked a couples massage. It came with an hour of hydrotherapy. The hydrotherapy was gender-separate so we didn't get to do that together. The massage was good, but not amongst the best I've had. The other thing that really made this trip great was the many other friendly guests we met and great conversations we had in the pools and bars. By the end of the trip, it felt like we knew most of the people there.

Amazing Stay at Live Aqua!
I had an amazing time at Live Aqua! The views were amazing, the food and drinks, the pools, and beach. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Also a big shoutout to Arturo and Stephany who made sure we were taken care of the entire time! And to top everything off I got engaged on the beach! I will be back :)
