Great hotel in excellent location
Stayed at Ocean Coral & Turquesa for 2 weeks from 16th to 30th November Excellent hotel, staff we encountered very friendly and helpful and worked really hard to ensure guests had an enjoyable stay. Room Stayed at the El Beso (Adults only) part of the hotel. Room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard each day and mini fridge re-stocked daily with water, soft drinks and beer. Must mention the cleaner Raphaela who usually cleaned our room, she was so nice and always smiling. Shower and air conditioning was good and TV with a number of English channels Food We mostly ate at the buffet restaurant Casa del Mar, breakfast and lunch very good, however dinner could be a bit hit and miss but there was a good range so you could always find something. As others have mentioned you need to ensure you log on and try and book one of the restaurants from 10:00am. We ate at Sensai the oriental restaurant which was excellent the chef put on a really entertaining demonstration and the food was very good, we also ate at Ritratto d'Italia which was also good but not as enjoyable as Sensai. Entertainment We went to most of the nighttime entertainment but as we were there for 2 weeks it repeated but this wasn’t really a problem as it was very good, especially the Mexican night. There was also music in the lobby area and then at 10:15pm there was a live DJ by the main pool. The activities team worked hard throughout the day with various activities on the beach and in and around the pools. Beach Thankfully we visited at the tail end of the sargassum season, so we did use the beach on the days we weren’t out and about. Most days were yellow flag days (swim with caution) however this wasn’t an issue. Wi Fi strong on the beach and also drinks service so you can relax. Pools There is a medium size pool at El Beso, then there is a main pool with swim up bar where most of the activities takes place, there is also a large quiet pool and a kid’s pool. It was a struggle to get a sun bed at any of the pools after 9:00am, so you had to be down early. The hotel was about 75% capacity when we were there so I can imagine when the hotel is full that this can be a problem. Not sure if it is feasible but it may be an idea to have a few more loungers dotted about on the grass areas around the main pool. Location This hotel is in a very good location. The town of Puerto Morelos is just under a 4km walk along the beach. We did this quite a few times as we do like to walk and even in the heat it wasn’t too bad as you had the sea breeze, although we tended to get a taxi back to the hotel as we usually had shopping. On our penultimate day it took us 50 minutes to do the walk compared to our first day when it took an hour. Puerto Morelos is a lovely town with a really good supermarket called Chedraui and must also mention a great book shop called Alma Libre. You can also find plenty of places to book excursions to various cenotes, Isla Mujeres, Chichen Itza etc. All in all, we had a great stay at this hotel and I highly recommend it.

Not relaxing here due to lack of seating at pool or beach and limited access to Ala carte restaurants
Very lovely resort. Beautiful rooms Great staff. Good food, Sadly my husband and I will not come back to this resort. We have stayed at multiple resorts on the Mayan Riviera. But now we wish we had gone to another resort after being here 5 days. Most other resorts have ample chairs and more easily booked availability for Ala carte restaurants. We are currently at the resort in the El Beso section. We booked this section which is adults only to have a “relaxing vacation”. Sadly that is not happening for two main reasons. Firstly; In order to get any chairs at the El Beso pool one must have their towels out by at least 6 am. Anytime after that and forget it. This morning I woke up at 540 am and went out in the dark to out our towels so we would have a place to sit and people were already putting towels on chairs. So much for sleeping in past 6! Definitely not enough chairs! We have also seen many people waking around unsuccessfully seeking chairs. Our first 3 days here we came out at @7 am and not a chair in sight at El Beso The second reason is trying to book a table at the Ala carte restaurants. Even being on the app at exactly 10 am does not guarantee success at getting a reservation. By 1005 am there are no reservations available. One must sit waiting for 10 am and then hope the booking goes through. The main reasons we come to the Mayan riviera is to relax and unwind. Unfortunately that has not been our experience here.

Friends get away
Location was close to Airport. The rooms were very nice 5101-5106 and resort was very clean. When we checked in they upgraded us to El Beso. Not sure why but that was nice.4 adult ladies Very disappointed in the food.Making reservations was a joke and some of the restaurant's were not open daily . Buffet was ok. it didn't seem to change from lunch to dinner. We ended up eating at the Mexican resturant 2 nights in a row ? Eric who worked the reservations was excellent. Some of the other staff was just ok. Not enough help and that was very evident. We stayed at the adult pool but the saving seats with a towel is a joke. If you are not out there at 7 am forget about getting a chair at pool and beach. Beach is not very wide and the water is not blue. Weather could of been warmer at night everyone had jackets on , I could of used a room heater. They brought a humidifier and blankets. Jan 14-19

Disappointed
quality of your vacation depends on tips ! I'm blaming management of lack of enforcement existing rules ending up with the sloppy service. Remember this is five stars Prime privilege resort that cost $$$

Good resort
Very clean resort. Staff were very friendly. Food was ok. We were only there for 3 nights but found the buffet repetitive during that time. We ate at the Italian and the Brazilian restaurant. Lunch at the restaurant by the pool was great and service was excellent. Antonio our server at the quiet pool bar was excellent! We liked the mozzarella sticks at Route 66 late night. The resort needs to enforce the towel saving. We sat at the pool and there were “saved” chairs beside us for longer than 2 hours. We liked the lobby bar and thought it was very nice to have a large space like that when it was raining.
