  Worst resort, save your dollars l, invest elsewhere, smells like sewer, sea weed all year, no access to beach Honest Review from a Traveler Who’s Visited 21 Countries – This Was the Worst Experience Yet Having traveled to 21 countries and stayed at a wide range of resorts, I can confidently say this was the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had. If you're considering booking this place—don’t. Here's why: The entire resort constantly smells like a sewer—yes, all day, every day. This isn’t a one-off bad day; it’s the reality of staying here. Forget about enjoying the beach. The seaweed situation is out of control, making it impossible to access the water. They make no real effort to clean it up or warn guests ahead of time. If you're coming here expecting white sand and ocean views, prepare to be let down. Boring, Repetitive, and Misrepresented Activities here are laughable. For example, the “foam party” is literally someone spraying foam for 30 seconds—no music, no vibe, no fun. Kids' activities are extremely limited and repeat the same dull schedule every day. The kids’ play area shown online? Completely false advertised. The water slides are old and rusted, and my child came away with scratches and cuts. How this is considered family-friendly is beyond me. The gym is a tiny, cramped room with almost no equipment. No leg machines, hardly any space, and the atmosphere is more like a library than a gym. And worst of all—the staff. One particular employee, who clearly lets power go to his head, polices the gym like it’s a courtroom. If you drop weights even slightly loud, he’ll jump in to scold you. I witnessed him make multiple guests—especially women—feel incredibly uncomfortable. He was rude, accusatory, and completely unprofessional. Major ego Just Plain Rude The overall attitude of the staff is appalling. Instead of hospitality, guests are met with arrogance and defensiveness. There’s no sense of customer care, and complaints are brushed off without any attempt to improve the experience. This was not just a bad resort—it was a full-on scam of an experience. Everything from the location and amenities to the service and safety was deeply disappointing. If you have kids, stay far away. If you care about your money, time, or sanity—invest it somewhere else.

  Horrible! The beach was inaccessible because of all the seaweed.

  Couldn’t be more disappointed in the whole experience. Took 3 hours to check in, and ended up not in the category we thought we had paid for. Food was mediocre at best and difficult to get reservations at all of the restaurants. The Italian restaurant was horrible! Don’t go here!

  I had a fantastic stay at Ocean Coral. The staff were so welcoming, the resort was beautiful, and the bartenders Antonio, Alejandro, Guillermo, and Gustavo were absolutely amazing and attentive ! They really take the time to build friendship with their guest. Everything was well-maintained, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!!!
