    Great games at the pools!

William was absolutely the best experience coordinator! We had so much fun with the way he would include us in the games. His genuine nature and huge smile always brought so much joy to our day. Always look for William because that is where the fun will be! Thank you William !

    Best Entertainer and Cleaner!

We were on a big family holiday of 10 from Canada staying for 10 days. We met William on the first day and he made our stay that much more fun! William is a great entertainer but most importantly he’s friendly, funny and very kind. He is a hard worker and clearly loves his job. We are leaving considering him our friend. William, you’re the best! We will miss you! Sylvia was our cleaner. She was so sweet, kind and happy and is such a hard worker. Our room was always left so clean and welcoming everyday.

    NOT Luxury Living

We upgraded our stay at Ocean Riviera Paradise El Beso to a rooftop junior suite with a partial ocean view, a category marketed as “luxury living.” Unfortunately, the reality did not align with that description. In fact, we had previously stayed at a resort at a significantly lower price point with rooms that were far superior in both comfort and quality. Upon arrival, we immediately noted that three of the four patio lights were not functioning. This was reported on day one and again on day two, yet no action was taken. Additionally, we experienced repeated and sudden infestations of insects appearing on our end table, which was both unsettling and unhygienic. While room service was included with our upgrade, we were never informed that it was limited to once per day, an important restriction that should have been clearly communicated. The in-room scale was nonfunctional, and the room temperature was uncomfortably cold. We were advised to maintain this temperature to control humidity; however, other guests had dehumidifiers provided in their rooms, while we did not. There were multiple days when our coffee and beer were not restocked despite leaving generous daily tips. When we contacted the front desk, we were told (incorrectly) that the room had been restocked and were made to feel as though we were being dishonest, despite clear evidence to the contrary. This interaction was particularly disappointing. That said, the housekeeping staff themselves were absolutely wonderful and deserve recognition for their friendliness and effort. Regarding the “Adults Only” designation, this label feels misleading. The resort offers only one adults-only pool (which was consistently too cold to comfortably use), one designated building (where children could still be heard), and one adults-only restaurant that shares a kitchen with the buffet. Dining there required a minimum two-hour breakfast or dinner. Elsewhere on the property, the resort was heavily crowded with families, long lines were unavoidable, and food hygiene was concerning, with children frequently handling food and beverage dispensers. The food overall was mediocre. We have traveled to Mexico before and experienced exceptional resort dining; this resort does not meet that standard. Compounding this concern, one of us contracted an E. coli infection during our stay, likely from food or water. We consistently ordered bottled water and did not knowingly consume tap water, which raises concerns about whether bottled water was always provided or whether glassware was properly sanitized. The persistent pressure to attend a timeshare presentation further detracted from our experience. We were promised a “full spa day” in exchange for 60 minutes of our time, which proved to be misleading. The actual offering was a 20-minute massage you would receive only after an aggressive sales pitch, and the experience lasted over two hours. Despite assurances that declining would be met without issue, we were made uncomfortable and even called “weird” for not purchasing. Some positives were: Andy, who took photos of us while we were there. She was so sweet and she is a wonderful photographer! They definitely know how to charge for these photos, but because Andy’s work was so great, we did purchase quite a few. Fontayne, Celso, and Ana in the buffet were AMAZING and treated their guests so warmly! William is also AN AMAZING entertainer, and we absolutely loved the personality he brought pool side and to the piano bar, and Arturo and Ivan were just such a warm and inviting souls! Overall, we are thoroughly disappointed with our stay and feel we paid far more than the experience justified. Service consistency and staff knowledge need significant improvement, as basic questions about the resort often went unanswered. While the entertainment staff were genuinely kind and engaging, the entertainment itself was underwhelming and did not meet expectations for a resort of this scale or price. We will not return.

El Beso nice, but only small part of resort

Very clean, great employees. Restaurants are decent, but you have to work for it. Waited 45 minutes to make reservations one morning. Waited in line numerous times to get in. 15 minutes to get a coffee at Mike’s Coffee. Don’t remember having to do that at other resorts we’ve stayed at. El Beso was only 1 of 4 buildings/pools so be aware that most restaurants have kids.
