Nice facility but not a true 5-star
The time there was good, pools were great, restaurant selection excellent and for the most part - very friendly staff. Property is beautiful! We had fun. But for the price, I felt it lacked value, especially considering other resorts I’ve been to for cheaper and less stars. We had 4 rooms: 2 in building 1, 1 in El Beso, 1 in Privilege. All had issues one way or another. Furthermore there was a lot of pushback by management- checkin & out process, shady room service, etc. A few examples of where they could improve: 1. Upon arrival we were told there was a $25 USD ‘Eco tax’ which had to be paid prior to our rooms (4) being checked into (upon exit they asked for an extra $1 due to new 2026 rates). Why wasn’t this part of the original booking (WestJet ; SunWing). Then the big stack of U$D on the counter where our $100 (hmm). 2. There is no grab & go buffet at the beach like so many other resorts. Total downer. The beach resto had 20minute lineups at 4:30pm! Then you have to wait and be served. Massive negative & bring snacks if you’re at the beach area and don’t want to burn 1hr of your day for a plate of nachos. 3. Confusing towel service : we had to provide our room numbers to get towels but then upon exchange elsewhere weren’t asked 4. Room infrastructure is iffy. Beautiful rooms, but issues. Why? Bathtubs that don’t work, leaky shower heads, toilet 1/2 flush buttons that don’t work (would be nice to conserve water!), sliding door latches that don’t work (we had a 2 Coati’s in our room), questionable AC (temps inaccurate). There was also a deHumidifier in 1 room : good to have but symptomatic of larger issue! We also had an entry door issue at one of the rooms: the battery died at 1am - thankfully a technician replaced it and we were in at 01:45! That same door then had a bracket access issue and for the duration of stay had to use a card. 5. One volley ball court and always packed 6.

Not a five star hotel
I want to start by saying this hotel has potential to be a five star but currently it's not. The grounds are big with good variety but there are two areas that need work: cleanliness and rooms. The cleanliness in the facilities was messy, unclean and not up to par. Floors were always dirty, tables not clean etc. Rooms need some severe TLC: lots of rusting, painting, leaking taps. You can't calm yourself a five star hotel with these points. We had to move rooms twice due to issues with the rooms, I will say the hotel did upgrade us and accommodated us after a little push. The staff is inconsistent, sometimes you will have someone great and then at times someone who won't even take a drink order. Adrian in blue moon, Diego and Julio in Blue Moon and Cesar at the front desk were great. The food was great in all areas, good variety. If you are at the à la carte and like your food HOT, tell the server. The one thing that I didn't love about the à la carte reservations was the booking system, booking same day when the app doesn't work was tough. Be mindful of the buffet hours, wish it was open a little longer. Good variety of pools, however no one were enough chairs. Other than the points above was a good stay but I you can't call yourself five star with the issues above.

Nice ambiance and food
Food was excellent in a buffet. Lots of seafood, desserts and overall options. It was tasty too. Specialty restaurants are not worth it. Rooms are big, perfect for when travelling with teenagers, there is extra pull out sofa and nice decor. Balconies are large and open. What we didn’t like is the Privilege takes one pool, El Beso takes another pool. You are not left with much as a regular visitor. Resort is large but many areas are extra charge. Beach area is small and so is the pool there. There are spots to swim between the rocks. Lineups for food did exist, especially for lunch at seaside restaurant and coffee shop. No coffee to go or drink outside available except long line up for 30 mins. Everything seems to be extra charge what is included in other resorts. Entertainment was almost non existent, they did more of it in adults pool. Nighttime shows were not good, just 1-2 people on stage with some projector behind. Not interesting. Restaurant could use theme nights for food. Service wasn’t amazing either as their restaurants look understaffed. We asked for a mattress to be changed twice and no one changed it. Resort is newer style and has nice atmosphere and ambiance. Lobby is very nice. Overall we made it a good time as a family but we won’t be back.

Bracelet Making and Painting
The arts and crafts/bracelet making experience was fun with Ruben. They spoke a lot to the customers and were very helpful when making the bracelet.
