Grateful for an unbelievable trip
We were really blown away by our experience here at JOIA! The resort had a few spots on the roof and some palm tree damage but other than that you would have never known they went through a category 5 hurricane. The staff is amazing hands down. Shout out to Andrew at the steak house, Justine at the French restaurant, Ace in the theater and Travis at the pool Bar! The food was fantastic and each restaurant provided a different experience that met expectations I have never had at other all inclusives. The beach was amazing, clean and great service for drinks. It was nice that our section was private and did not deal with vendors harassing they were just floating by and super nice. Cannot speak more highly of this place and can’t wait to see the renovations. I highly recommend JOIA for a couples or friends getaway. Please come and support the wonderful people of Jamaica and continue to help them rebuild. We will be back!

Babymoon at the JOIA for a couple who doesn't go to all inclusives a lot!
As someone who is generally not into all-inclusives, I have to say staying at the Joia was an amazing experience. It is small, and because of that you really get a great sense of intimacy at the resort. The grounds are really stunning, and the vibes are CHILL. You get to know the staff, which are truly above and beyond exceptional people. The pools and the beach are so serene, I went 7 months pregnant and never felt overwhelmed by a party environment, or crowds. It was always easy to get good spots at the beach and pool. The aqua fit was one of our fav things to do everyday (Shoutout to the lady trainer and Momo - we had such a hoot with them) and the activity director and his team did SUCH a good job at getting us to do some fun stuff, especially the beach volleyball my husband played (Trini hung out with my while he played and made us feel so special and loved - huge shout out to her!) Also a big shout out to Travis at the swim up bar for making me feel included with non-alc drinks for my pregnant self, always singing and having fun. The only thing I would note on is if you're looking for a resort with lots of food options and you're a bit of a foodie, it may not be the best fit for you. Sometimes the selections of items were limited - especially the room service, and a few of the restaurants were a bit of a miss. But, that being said, I can clearly tell they are trying to incorporate lots of options for people, including staying authentic to the national cuisines - which we really appericated. The breakfast was great, and the Jamaican restaurant for lunch as well as dinner was a real pleasure to dine in and on their beautiful patio. Most importantly we want to just send such a huge thank you to the people working at the Joia. After the hurricane I can imagine it was a very tough time for the Jamaican people and everyone we encountered working at the resort made us feel so welcomed and loved. We will be back, it was truly such a special trip for my husband and I's babymoon. Thanks Joia!

Best of our 4 visits to Jamaica.
We left a cold snowy Georgia for a warm, beautiful, hospitable Montego Bay and a lovely JOIA Iberostar Rose Hall. We added a day to our reservation which caused some confusion but the front desk resolved it with a 2 step upgrade to an ocean front butler suite. Our butlers Ralston, Gary and Kadeen were so very helpful in so many ways. I had dreamed of having a milkshake on the beach. They made it happen even though the bars do not stock ice cream. Our room was very clean. Daily room maintenance, mini bar, pool activities, food options were all fantastic. Although the area shows much remains of the hurricane, and the lives of all those who served us so graciously continue to be impacted as home repairs are ongoing, you would never know it. Facility and landscaping were immaculate and every staff member at every level were smiling and went out of their way to accommodate us. The result was a totally relaxed and enjoyable 6 days. Already working on a return. We have been to Jamaica 4 times but our stay here was by far the best.

Great place we'll go back to. Only minor issues
Just came back from 1 week here with my wife. We're experienced travellers that go to Caribbean all-inclusive 2 to 3 times per year, but this was our first time here. Jamaica was hit by a terrible hurricane in October and almost all the hotels in the area are closed. This is only 1 of 2 which are open. The resort was in great shape. The only signs anything had happened were: roof shingles were being replaced, palm tree leaves were cut off and stubby, they were missing a lot of palapas on the beach, but they were installing new ones as we left. None of that was an issue at all. The resort seemed to be about 30% occupied on the weekend and even less mid-week. The pool and beach areas had plenty of chairs available even very late into the morning and the restaurants never had a lineup. Service overall was terrific and everyone was extremely friendly. A particular shout out to our housekeeper (Tache) who made it a point to ask us if everything was ok (which it was) and made nice towel decorations in the room. The only time we had a bit of issues with service was with the concierge giving us a bit of attitude when we refused to participate in the breakfast session where they try to sell you something about another resort. Nothing serious, but still anoying. The entire resort was very clean, as weird as it sounds the washroom by the pool (which is usually the one that gets nasty) was very well maintained. The person cleaning it was in there all the time. There was a time where an employee broke a glass on the walkway by the pool (going towards the grill),. They swept it up very quickly but didn't do a good job and there was still glass on the ground (my wife picked up 2 large shards of glass herself), we had to ask them to sweep it again so people wouldn't cut themselves. That took about 20 minutes by the time it was all done. Not cool for an area where folks walk barefoot. The restaurants were all good, service was excellent and portions were just right. They have 3 house wines (Cab Sauv, Chard, Sauv Blanc), which were all decent enough. The coffee throughout the resort was awesome. The beach was nice and wide with barely any waves to speak of and no seaweed at all. One annoyance is our hotel described having water equipment available for free, ex: Kayaks, paddle boards, ... but there's actually a $20 US "insurance" that you need to pay to use it. Its not expensive but feels like they're trying to nickel and dime you, not cool. Overall it was a terrific stay and we will be returning in the spring of this year.

Great get away
All the staff were super helpful and friendly to us on our baby moon. Christopher and Donavan really stood out to us going above and beyond. We will definitely be coming back.
