  Loved Secrets Montego Bay

  Secrets hands down is one of our favorite resort locations. This Secrets location overall was a very good experience! The staff was amazing and super friendly. Shout out to our butler Kenron. He was amazing, always looking for ways to offer his service and make the trip better. The resort is very clean. Probably our only downfall is that the resort needs some updating. You can tell that it needs some renovations to keep up with the use. (In their defense, they were starting some repairs while we were there). I’d highly recommend this location.

  The absolute best ever!

  Heidy from customer service management, Kenton from personal butler's group, Romaine from the Hibachi restaurant, and Lisa at checkout were all absolutely awesome. This resort is top notch, we will definitely return sooner than later!

  Not the peaceful, clean 5 star hotel we were expecting!

  We booked this hotel as it was described as quiet, calm and peaceful. On arrival we did not get offered a welcome drink, but others did. (Pretty much when they could be bothered to offer). The reception staff were not overly welcoming. The bar inside near the reception, the staff were not welcoming either and did not smile much and didn’t even try to pretend they wanted to be there. Tipping the outdoor bar staff was an expectation all of the time, if you did not tip you would get ignored for a while and they would serve Americans first as these always tip every single time. The pool we noticed had scum around the edges and always had lots of flies and leaves in the water. When we first arrived we used the pool but we both suffered with diarrohea, when I noticed the pool was quite dirty we started going in the sea and then realised the diarrohea stopped! We didn’t go back in the pools after that. The hotel was advertised as having 9 restaurants, however, one of them would be closed many nights due to staff shortage which made the other restaurants busier. In the Mexican restaurant we waited an hour and a half just to get served, not to mention we spotted several people getting up and leaving due to the lack of service. Our toilet in our room took many times to flush and at times didn’t think it would. The piano bar that was advertised as a quiet, calming relaxing piano bar was the complete opposite, it became a karaoke piano bar which was Loud and you might as well of been sat in a bar in Benidorm. Not quite the 5 star experience that we thought we would receive. We booked this through Tui which I have also put on the review with them. We would highly recommend not to book this hotel unless the loud, long waiting times, staff not welcoming and ignoring you and scummy pools does not bother you. Very disappointing.

  Celiac friendly resort

  Celiac friendly with gluten free options and care taken for those who need this. Stayed as a Preferred Guest. Would pay the extra again for this and would recommend this for celiac and gluten free guests! Beautiful resort. Very friendly. Beach and pools were lovely.

  Better than expected

  Food was much better than I was expecting. Plenty of options, good variety and even the fussiest of eaters would find something. Resort was very clean, ( lounge chairs on beach were a bit tired) but plentiful. Drinks were good ( not amazing) but ok (claimed to have " run out" of certain things, but plenty of options for sure! Entertainment was better than I was expecting. Something different every night and easily enjoyed from the dinning areas. Rooms were nice size, no musty smell and easily cooled down Resturant options were plentiful, but if you are staying at St James resort, its a bit of a walk to the dining options, which are located at Wild Orchid. The shops were overpriced ( so dont forget anything) Service could be slow at times Overall, it was great and I would go back.
