Good resort but needs 2000% improvement
The breakfast buffet is a mess with only 1 omlette station with line up of 25 people at a time. Everyone orders for 2 - 3 people to save time. Major issue for breakfast. No food at the beach area so disappointing an absolute intentional money grap in order to get guests to upgrade. The bar at the beach is with 3 people inside but only 1 barman serving with line ups sometimes upto 10- 15 people. U dont tip well u dont get good drink. We tried intentionally both. Flashing the tip money before ur drink helps u to get better service otherwise expect distasteful drinks. The a la carte don Pablo is a banger. So good so delicious with better service. The kids club is a major plus for people with kids and teens. We were there with a 6 and 10 yr old kids. Absolutely 💯 amazing. Girls at the kids club and teens club Azul, Jessel, Ami, Cynthia, Yuli, Mariana and many others are doing everything to keep the kids and teens happy. I 100% recommend families with kids and teens. If you wanna take a few hrs off from ur kids and teens while being confident that your kids and teens are having fun and are in good hands then this is the place. The guy who starts lobby bar in the morning is always in a bad mood. Avoid going to the lobby bar for any drinks before lunch time. The coffee section in the lobby , there are 3 ladies who I caught mocking the guests who were seemingly with veil and Muslims. Thats a major no no, to the point that I wanted to say he stop and serve me my fking coffee and let me go, but u know I am on vacation minding my own business and dont want anything to ruin my day. The urban and the circus shows are huge and very entertaining. Make sure to not miss them. The terrace shows could be better as it usually does karaoke with people not wanting to sing and if they do, then they try for the first time and for the adventure of it, very annoying as audience listening to strangers murdering the good songs. Going to the beach is not a problem there is always a train and these gulf cars going every 10to 15 mins. The alcohols are watered down expect suboptimal drinks. The beer is ugh and they dont serve modelo or Victoria beers. Rooms are spacious clean and comfy however alittle outdated and moldy smell. We were OK coz we didnt spend much time in the rooms except for showers and sleep. Tip: met a couple who booked coba for 2 weeks like 2.5 grand cheaper than akumal and tulum but they upgraded to pink bracelets like for 550$ so they could hang out anywhere in the resort. Such a great idea for people who wanna save but have the same services in the entire resort. I dont know if i wanna return to the resort. it depends on the deal and price but I definitely know based on reviews and research that u can have better options elsewhere with flexible dates. I hope coba renovates and fixes some major issues involving money grap techniques when it comes to bars and restaurants services. Thats ultimately the guests experience maker or breaker.

12 day family vacation at Bahia Principe Grand Coba
Our family had a great time staying at the Grand Coba. Like others have mentioned the room is a bit dated but overall its clean and sufficient. Bathroom was really nice. The daily buffet options do get tiring but there are so many options its easy to keep it fresh. We enjoyed the raw fish, yogurts, and salad options after exhausting all of the typical western choices. The poolside activities and games provided by the entertainment staff were really fun. Hanna, Haziel, Alejandro, Antonio, Jonathan, and Eder were really interactive, funny, and professional. The nightly shows were beyond what I expected. Really enjoyable. There are even earlier shows that our kids got involved with. We attended the Saturday evening Fiesta Mexicana which was really well done. Fun games for the kids and great musical performances. Also, a nice selection of food. Our family did the Aventuras Mayas cenote excursion with Amstar. It was amazing. Our guide Miguel was great and our family really enjoyed the experience. We ate at 5 of the a la carte restaurants. My favorite being Don Pablo. They were all great experiences but my least favorite was Portofino. Mikada teppenyaki was really fun. Tequila restaurant was really good. Make sure you book these 10 days before your trip on the Bahia Principe app.

Privilege club disappointment
First of all we've stayed at the Bahia Principe resorts in several different locations as a Privilege Club member, This time things change not to the better, we had issues getting privilege club carts, normally not a big deal, but this time I was having knee issues. We sent messages to Alejandra@ bppclub and basically our messaged back saying go find the manager Luis Castillo which that was unsuccessful. We have several whats app messages at no response. Customer service as a club member was felt like they didn't care. We had Other issues as well basically told things change. And we also had another couple with us which was possible thinking about joining Privilege club which for good reasons they didn't. I know Coba isn't the top resort but when you offer Privilege you should receive it. We were very disappointed in this experience with the club. You can see the picture of whats app. have more as well , Just buyer, beware I,ve been a member for several years now and it was never that bad. WE did get to enjoy the tequila resort.

Overall a great budget and kid friendly stay at Coba!
My family and I (1 adult, a teen and child) stayed at Bahia Principe Grand Coba from Nov 29th - Dec 6th. First off, I'm always concerned about weather when I book an all inclusive, the weather was perfect, hot and sunny everyday thank goodness :) Coming from cold Canada, that is mainly why we're there right!? Overall our first impression was very good, the lobby is beautiful, kind staff and a quick effortless check in process started us off on the right vibe. The staff seemed very kind and hardworking. The entertainment staff, activities during the day, pool games, shows in the evening really made a fun difference for the kids, we always had things to do and the staff made it very accommodating and fun for us. We used the gym daily which was a nice gym with all you need and then hit the buffet for breakfast. Overall we found the food options very good, lots of variety, hot, seasoned and cooked well. I particularly enjoyed the authentic Mexican part where they had some tasty Mexican options. Also lots of kid friendly options as well each meal. We did three a la carte restaurants (Japanese, Mexican, Italian) which honestly were all very good (I come from a hospitality/chef background and can be picky) I found they did a great job (Buffett included) overall food and service wise, with budget provided. You are far from the beach but we found the trolley system to be very convenient and fun to drive around the resort and see the different spots on your way to the beach. The beach bar does get backed up and could use some more staffing or service points, but hey you're in paradise and waiting 5 or 8 mins for a nice cold drink prepared well with a smile, so it isn't really that bad. The beach is nice, some rocky points but you can walk around a bit find a nice spot and good place to go in a chill in the salt water. The pool is large with plenty of loungers and you also have a party pool (we called it) swim up bar, we left that one for the adults :) I can't say enough about the entertainment staff daily they had a schedule posted and always had fun competitions and games for the kids, they were all awesome. HACK: Download the Bahia Principe app to book restaurants and see daily activity schedule. Yes the rooms are dated at Coba but if you want more updates or posh, pay a bit more and go to Tulum, Akumal or Tequila. Ours was cleaned well daily, clean bathrooms, everything worked, good water pressure and heat and we're never really in the room anyways, the goal is to be outdoors in the sun and warmth as much as possible! We did the Tulum Ruins, Cenotes and Swim with Turtles excursion which was awesome, the kids had a blast. Coba is basically set in a jungle and then the Sea, so on the grounds of the hotel you see tons of wildlife, reptiles and cool animals, very fun for the kids. Overall a great stay at Coba and well worth the budget friendly cost, it exceeded our expectations and we would return for that price for sure. Thank you to all the lovely, accommodating and hospitable staff at Coba, Mexico we appreciate it and hope to return one day to your beautiful country.
