Wonderful welcoming staff made our trip special! Food terrific- special thanks for wonderful service-Vincente who brought us many tequila shots and delicious drinks and who felt like a true friend. Oliver for the fun Spanish lessons in the pool, Phillipe for fun drink service at the pool, Angie for great zumba in the pool class and Keychain activity, Jonathan and Oliver for making our friends birthday so special, and one she will never forget, Ozzy for great tequila tasting class, who was great and made us laugh, I forget name of others but the man who presented the tequila tasting was so much fun, I'm sorry i cant remember all your names!!), wonderful service in all the restaurants and especially the buffet (wait staff and cooks so nice!!), coffee cafe (wonderful coffee and gelato!) And Portofino. Highly recommended resort thanks to wonderful people who work there. We couldn't swim in sea due to seaweed. The rooms were spacious and nice layout. The rooms so clean and nice (thank you to the women who cleaned our room) shower was hot and lovely. Nic3 big mirror. AC ice cold, water in fridge and other drinks and nice touch, spacious balcony with good view. Beds super comfy! And I loved having two sinks. Awesome layout.

Great Girls Trip!
First time at an all inclusive, it was a wonderful time!!! On a girls trip and we all felt spoiled and so well taken care of. Service at every bar and restaurant was amazing. The grounds were beautiful. We had a pool cabana at infinity pool and it was well worth it. Vincente took great care of us. We loved the entertainment staff, especially Oliver, Uzzy, Jonathan, Angie and Gustavo. We loved the shows including Ariel rope show, Brazil show, and Mexico show. It was my birthday and they brought me up on stage. Will definitely be back to Dreams Rivera!

Amazing girls trip!
Amazing experience at Dreams Riviera Cancun! The staff was wonderful. We especially enjoyed Vincente, Oliver, Jonathan, Uzzy, Gustavo…they took great care of us! Would definitely go back.

Carlos Molina a great staff member!
The staff was the MOST amazing - extremely friendly and accommadating. We especially had such a great bond with Carlos Molina! Him and his wife on staff were so kind to make us feel right at home! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional- always. We can't wait to go back!

Sep 10, 2025Anyone who thinks this resort is amazing has never actually stayed anywhere amazing
We stayed for 6 nights at the end of August, in room 1144, which was room with double beds and a plunge pool. Check in - 4 stars. Greeted with a cool towel and a glass of champagne was nice. The person at check in was very pleasant and efficient. Room - 1 star. Room was spacious, we LOVED having the plunge pool. Beds were hard. Sink/toilet/shower area were nice and big. Really didn't like that there are no drawers to unpack clothes into. Living out of a suitcase isn't at all fun. The room would have gotten a better rating from me, but the Preferred Club was in the same hall as us and we were woken up by clanking dishes every single morning. One morning it started at 4:22am! If it hadn't been for the noise the room would have been a lot better. They need to do some sound proofing in that hallway. Restaurants/Food - 2.5 stars. By day 3 we found the breakfast buffet nauseating. It just wasn't good. I resorted to eating avocado only for breakfast. The food wasn't hot or cold, everything was just warm. We did get morning iced lattes at Coco Cafe and some mornings they had warm sugar donuts which the kids loved. We ate lunch mostly at the pool side grill. The pizza was the best thing there, I thought there burgers were terrible and the one time I did make your own taco, it fell apart immediately. We ate dinner at the El Patio, Oceana, Portofino and Seaside Grill. The food was wonderful at El Patio and Seaside Grill. Portofino was just okay. Bread was good! Oceana was terrible. Bars/Drinks - 2.5 stars. Drinks were okay, I found mixed drinks watered down, service was quick but not at all friendly except for the lobby bartenders. Service - 2 stars. Besides the check in person, the morning staff at Coco Cafe, the lobby bartenders, one pool server and our servers at El Patio, all the employees were so grumpy. I have so many examples I can't list them all, but I was shocked. We have been to Mexico a lot and we cruise a lot and this was by far the worst service I have ever received at a resort. The most shocking was when I went to sit on the swing at Barracuda Bar, the bottom of my swimsuit was wet and I slipped off the swing pretty hard. There were two bartenders and two pool servers standing there. All 4 of them looked at me and went back to talking. At any other resort the employees would have rushed to see if I was okay. I was also the ONLY one at the bar so it wasn't like they had other guests. Entertainment - 2 stars. It was okay. I will say the "crazy pool games" weren't fair and played favorites. It didn't seem to matter whose participation was the best, they seemed to a winner based on who they liked best that day. It was really odd. Also, one day we got in line for bracelet making about 20 seconds after someone else. The employee told me "this activity has ended" to my 10 year old, and proceeded to make two bracelets for the girl who got in line fight before us. This goes back to the service being lousy. Pools - 2 stars. My 13 and 10 year old kids really could only use the activities pool. Infinity pool off limits to kids (which wasn't the rule when I booked) and they're really too old for the other small pool. I don't understand why I'm paying an adult price for my 13 year old, but he's considered a kid at the infinity pool. Make it make sense. Also by mid day the pools were almost as warm as a jacuzzi. Beach - 2 stars. The sand is nice, but we went during Sargassum season and the smell was overwhelming on the beach. Gift Shop - 1 star. $52 for a bottle of sunscreen? Come on. And yes, we packed our own, but the airline lost a bag for over 24 hours so we didn't have a choice but to buy some there. Also, I spent $310 USD at the gift shop, per my receipt. I charged it to my room. When I checked out they charged $331 USD to my credit card. Bottom line, the plunge pool was the best part of our stay. We won't return to this property and I'm completely flabbergasted by the 5 star reviews. The only thing that makes sense is that people who think this is an amazing resort have never actually stayed at an amazing resort so they can't compare it to anything.
