Low key vibes and fun!
Overall we had a great time. The hotel isn't anything spectacular in my opinion but it was nice, had great views, easy access to the beach, and their entertainment team was great. The food is hit or miss for the buffet so go early. The specialty restaurants, you need reservations for so make sure you do that in advanced

Beautiful Beaches - Less Than Ideal Resort Experience
Beautiful beaches, but very rocky. Lots of biting flies and mosquitos so spray with deet is a must. Sunscape food and drinks - lacked variety, low quality. Friendly staff, but entertainment was lacking. I look forward to coming back to Curacao but won't be returning to Sunscape.

DO NOT GO! Awful food, overpriced, outdated and dirty. Save your money.
Please save your money. I don't write reviews often but trust me on this one. I travel a lot and stay at a variety of properties. I was not expecting much for an all inclusive we all know the food and beverage are typically cafeteria quality. This food was below that - it was disgusting. Terrible quality meats that I could not even cut through. Minestrone "soup" that was all broth. Everything overly and heavily salted. Zero entertainment schedules. SAVE YOUR $$! So not worth it. We paid around $500/night for 2 people per room on a girls trip. The rooms are terribly old and outdated, with mosquitos and ants in them. Most of the staff was rude if you ask for anything and seemed very put off. It was one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. Some were nice, but many just could not be bothered. I guess they hate their jobs. Towels in our room were full o holes, pillows were hard and the size of a throw pillow. Terribly understaffed most days. Be prepared to wait in lines for watered down drinks and alcohol so cheap I would not serve to my worst enemies. The entertainment crew were probably the nicest. Spa was so so. Steam room was broken, there was no "welcome in, you are welcome to stay and use facilities" like most places. We had to ask. It was a girls trip so at least I was with people I enjoy spending time with! This place needs to be shut down and completely remodeled. Unsafe balconies and railings that someone could easily fall over.

This resort could be so much more if they renovate it. Service with a smile was lacking. Roaches in my room.
I thought my room was nice until we realized we roaches. Maintenance sprayed, but more showed up the next day and every day after that. I'm disabled and it made it very hard for me to kill them. The option to move rooms never came up. When we packed, to go home, I put everything in trash bags in case roaches got into anything. I had to unpack outside in 25° weather. Again, I am disabled, making it painful and difficult. The server at the Oceania was rude. For example, when she served dessert, she put them all on one plate and handed it to my friend. She also handed her the silverware at the same time, causing them to fall. She walked away so fast, she didn't notice what happened. We never received drink refills. What they called lemon pie was more like meringue over graham cracker dust, served in a plastic dip cup. We didn't receive hand soap until day 3 of our stay. We had to use body wash. We didn't get to eat at the hibachi restaurant because it was only open on specific days and all of the reservations for our entire stay were already booked. We weren't able to eat at the Italian restaurant because the wait list was so long. The buffet was pretty good, but the dame food every night. We decided to just eat off of the resort, which defeats the point of it being all inclusive. Mr. Kenneth, at the Rendezvous Bar, was the best part of my stay. The Coco Cafe also had great service, coffee, and pastries.

Great location, Poor service, Inconsistent, Not relaxing at all
The service was lacking. Had to wait an hour to check in to my room. Paid for the upgraded oceanfront sun club premium deluxe king but the view of the ocean was completely obstructed by trees, huts and restaurant. I immediately asked for a room change and no one got back to me. I asked again next day, no one got back to me. I could've paid $600 less for a room that actually had an ocean view. That's unacceptable. Food was inconsistent. Some days seasoned, other days not. You have to show a room card to get premium alcohol. Why not give Sun Club members bands? The staff didn't offer a DO NOT DISTURB sign for room so every day BEFORE 10am housekeeping would knock and attempt to enter the room. We would have to run out of the shower to stop them. Not relaxing at all. In addition one day maintenance came to do a room inspection, again in the morning while we were having our breakfast. Never experienced that while staying at a resort. Water in the shower was inconsistent. Sometimes warm sometimes cold. Patio door doesn't close tight so room full of mosquitos. I left with 40+ bites. I'm really not a picky person and I rarely say this but I would NOT recommend this resort to anyone. The best thing this resort has going for it is it's location in proximity to Mambo Beach. Staff needs more training, the resort needs more basic processes in place and the food needs more consistency and care.
