  15 year Anniversary Trip

  Helios has amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Our server Braulio was amazing and handled our request fast and efficient. The manager Ariel even dropped by to check on us on multiple occasions. Will revist before our trip is over.

  NOT the Luxury Hotel you would hope for

  We stayed at TRS Coral and Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres in May 2025 for our wedding, and we deeply regret choosing this resort. What should have been the most memorable and joyful week of our lives turned into a frustrating, stressful, and disappointing experience—not just for us, but for many of our guests. We specifically chose TRS Coral because we had previously stayed at TRS Yucatán and had an absolutely amazing experience there. The service, the quality, and the attention to detail at Yucatán were so outstanding that we confidently booked Coral expecting a similar standard, especially since this is marketed as a 4 Diamond property. Unfortunately, the service we received at TRS Coral was worse than what we’ve experienced at budget hotels—we’ve had significantly better service at a Holiday Inn. Some key issues from our stay: Several of our guests had food poisoning after dining at the resort, including my grandmother and my brother, who were both sick the next day. Service was consistently slow and disorganized. Drinks would often arrive 15-20 minutes after being ordered—sometimes not until the meal was already finished. Spoons were bizarrely missing from most dining setups. Even when ordering soup, spoons would not be provided, and it became a daily struggle to track one down just to stir coffee. Staff prioritized each other over guests. On more than one occasion, I was made to wait several minutes at the bar while staff served drinks to their own coworkers. Staff badmouthed guests in Spanish multiple times, not realizing I could understand them. Basic requests were routinely ignored. My mother-in-law asked for a hair dryer four times over three consecutive days and never received one. During check-in, the golf cart driver carelessly loaded our luggage, despite my warning, causing my backpack to fly off the cart. At Capricho, after waiting excessively for drinks, the waiter rudely told us that our group size was the reason for delays. After I timed him, he still took 15 minutes to bring the drinks. Additionally, my mother-in-law requested an alcohol-free beer for her husband (who is on medication) and believes he was served a regular beer as he had an adverse reaction. The website is full of false and outdated information. Services like Bluetooth speakers, which were advertised, haven’t been available for years. Staff themselves admitted that the website is misleading, yet no corrections have been made. Many staff lack proper customer service training and basic English proficiency, which made it extremely difficult for many of our guests to communicate or resolve issues. The resort’s energy is focused on constant upselling rather than guest satisfaction. We were approached about sales repeatedly—even while on our way to scheduled appointments. The most frustrating part? When we provided this feedback to management, the resort offered lousy compensation that only applied to me and my husband, and asked us to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in exchange for it. No compensation or acknowledgment was offered to our guests who also suffered through these issues. Clearly, their priority was to silence us, not to genuinely make things right. TRS Coral does not deliver anywhere near the level of service or quality it advertises. This was supposed to be a premium experience. Instead, it felt like the resort simply reacts to problems after they escalate rather than providing attentive service from the start. If you are considering this resort—don’t. Avoid it at all costs. Choose literally any other hotel. You deserve better.

  Lacks the will to be good and far from great. Disappointed in the overall experience. I was kind in giving 2 stars!!

  I gave 2 out of 5, there are some good points at this resort: rooms are nice, service staff at restaurants are attentive, and two restaurants were excellent. However the resort fails to cross their t’s and dot their i’s. Overall service outside certain restaurants is lacking, transport shuttles inconsistent and sometimes not functional, property is dated and much work to be done. I saw at least 3 safety violations and that was just in 2 rooms. Spa was average and lacked detail. Service outside was less than average, I believe due to being under staffed. Not a top notch place. Detail is lacking at many levels. Not sure I would come here with many other excellent options. Get it corrected soon or others will see there are better options.

  Good- beautiful architecture, amazing spa, fun show, easy access to pool and beach. Butler was kind but not pushy. Improvements- some of the food. Some bread 🥯 was stale and the orange juice was not good. The executive chef in one restaurant brought us freshly squeezed which was incredibly thoughtful.

  Edgar Lopez, bellman, was very kind and helpful as we arrived! He also answered many questions and took pictures for us. He made an excellent first impression for this amazing resort. I highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
