Jan 31, 2026Worst hotel I have ever experienced. Everything has to be done online and then they lose the online reservations.
The hotel resembles a large industrial complex with cafeteria style food. More people than the beach or pool could ever accommodate .

This is a very lively party Hotel if that’s what you’re looking for then it’s ideal, buffet restaurant adequate but light refilling at times staff seem reluctant to help when asked to refill. Best restaurants we found were kulanari and the Italian. Jerome stretching/yoga everyday was good, missing it already. A big shout out for all the entertainment staff with their shows in the evening all the hard work, energy and effort they put in unbelievable, name a few Rika, Masquita, TT, Roly Poly, Susie Q, baby Shark, Dale, Brian, Astro, Kevaughn and Cordell, hope spelling ok😀 Waiting staff and bar staff were great no complaints. There are some quiet areas you can find on the beach and also of an evening in the sports bar quite a bit quieter than the main bar with all the entertainment.

Spectacular!!!! The people working there were the best , O'Brian the bartender, the waiters, Leicy the entertainment director, mosquito the entertainer worker , Shani que the Nexus agent , and all of the rest, excellent people, too professional ,too focused, ADMIRABLE!!!!! The food was fantastic , we will be back to this hotel for sure !!! CONGRATS!!!

Hi, I wanted to share my very first experience staying at Riu property. My husband and I arrived on 1/20/26 and check out of Riu Montego Bay on 1/28/26. Our first evening and night, we saw two roaches in our room, one being right in our bed and the other on a curtain. We contacted front desk and were told that they would move us into a new room the following day after 3:00. We were given two “amenities” which contained a coffee mug, coffee and a bottle of champagne that the staff went and picked up from one of the restaurants at the resort. Now let’s fast forward to our last night. My husband and I are eating dinner at the Rose Hall and I observed a roach crawling on the dining room table right next to our table. I immediately got the waiter who killed it but my dinner was ruined and we immediately left and went back to our room. Needless to say, we refrained from eating anything else at the resort. The entertainment team was absolutely amazing and are hard workers. We also had positive experiences with the housekeeping, lifeguards and bar team members. Overall, I’m giving my first experience with Riu a two and this is because I want to truly recognize the great experiences we had with the above listed departments. I do have videos/pictures of the observed roaches and would like to email them to someone who will truly address this as it’s not right to take someone’s hard earned money then they can’t even fully enjoy their vacation.

Incredible Riu Montego Bay
So just got back a few days ago, and honestly are hearts are still in Jamaica. Our first time visiting Jamaica, and it was the best vacation by far that we have ever had. Once we arrived eveything seemed effortless, calm and joyful. and remained that way throughout the entire trip. The resort it gorgeous, you have a choice of 5 different pools. Water aerobics daily and lots for fun games to be had. The staff at the resort definitely go above and beyond and made our vacation one that will be unforgettable. You could feel the pride and love they have for their island and visitors and were proud to share it with you. Accommodations were clean and very comfortable, a peaceful and relaxing retreat after a long day. The food... Wow absolutely incredible. Every restaurant and al la carte experience was an experience to remember. Absolutely Incredible. We especially enjoyed the Steak house and the Italian. Selection at the Buffet was limitless and the Sports Bar had the be best Nacho's with Chilli and Cheese Sauce. A highlight of our trip was the waterslides, they are a must try and an absolute Blast and pure fun ... we're in our early 60's. The pools and the beach are simply fantastic. Soft sand, beautiful water and the calming breeze of the Caribbean. Jamacia you're doing everything RIGHT! Can't wait to come back. Yeah man
