Just a great spot to relax and enjoy being treated well.
This is our favorite resort in the Dominican Republic. One small portion of a much larger complex, getting around is very easy with shuttles running on a regular basis. Aquamarine is adults only and is an excellent way for a couple to relax and enjoy life in the sun. It is the staff which make this resort so enjoyable. They always have a smile and a pleasant attitude. Any problems are resolved immediately, day or night. They are there to make your vacation as enjoyable as possible. There are several al a carte resturants and making reservations is very easy. Food is excellent weither in the buffet or the specialty restaurants. A beautiful beach is only a short trolley ride away. Miguel Ramos (one of the concierges) is always there to help if needed, weither he is on shift or at home. On check in he has our Al a carte restaurants booked before we even get our room, in fact we even talk via the internet before our arrival to discuss our expectations. . Love this resort and the staff that work there.

Relaxing, but in need of updating. (The hotel, not me)
Checked into room 85110. Dodgy light fitting on bedside lamp, broken iron, thumping music from next door hotel, very little water pressure from shower and taps offered thermonuclear temperature only. I asked about a replacement iron at reception, was told it would be swapped. 12 hours later, I tipped a maintenance guy to swap mine with another room... halfway through the week, had to swap rooms as water was running down the walls and pooling on the floor after aircon broke down...not a good start. Moved to room 72106, not to same aesthetic standard, but much quieter and better placed. Patio door lock broken, still no real water pressure, and only one sink... Food in buffet restaurant was mainly lukewarm, and with no plate warmers avaliable, it got colder quickly. Service was much better if you offered tips... Staff; brilliant, especially pool bar Juan, bar staff Andy and Eddy, Karina, Yulisa, Luis and others in buffet. Small mangrove area worth a look to see iguana, terrapins, fish and a variety of herons in a natural environment, Sports Bar only opens at 6pm which was disappointing, entertainment a bit lame, but white party and singers enjoyable. Transport around the site was good with electric buggies regularly stopping to pick up, beach was good (go left for adults only Aquamarine beach) but get there early or late for a shady sundowner otherwise you've got no chance... Pools good, clean but surrounding marble tiles very slippy when wet so tread carefully... grill food by pool mainly lukewarm, but if desperate, saves you leaving the pool for lunch. Would we return? No, but despite some rooms/areas looking tired, we enjoyed the holiday overall. Im sure there are better hotels, but I'm sure there are worse...

Nice vacations in punta cana
Returned guest as we were there in 2020 Really enjoyed the entertainment team! Many different kind of activities to do!! We were also able to request songs by the pool!! Yay!! The waiter for the pool was amazing and funny! The maids were nice!! You have a bracelet as a key for your room! Love it! We did two excursions: saona island (beware it is 1h30 bus drive to get there + if you can do a VIP tour i would suggest that as there too many people on the regular and causing delays) then we did the catamaran with snorkeling, diving, sea lion and stingrays and nurse shark! Was shorter of drive and very amazing service, but not enough different kind of fish, was all the same kind of fish.. Cons Alot of vendors at the beach so you can’t enjoyed your stay at the beach…. If you don’t reserve your restaurant 10 days prior before your stay you won’t be able to go. We were lucky to do 2 atleast. A lot of mosquitoes so please bring your bug spray!! My legs was baddddd . The rooms needs a makeover for sure and a fan in the bathroom would be nice as the light of the ceiling are all rusty, the lamps are rusty..

Poor
DO NOT go to this hotel the majority of guests are Americans and Canadians who have a tip culture and tip for everything , consequently the service to guests who do not tip is appalling , the staff are rude , untrained and unfit to do their jobs service in the restaurants is appalling , the hotel is tired and being generous 3 star , there is a tiered structure of rules regarding where you can eat and drink across the site and if your wristband is the wrong colour your options are limited. The only thing the staff are good at is standing around chatting to each other and ignoring guests , food in the main restaurant is basic and repetitive , so called a la carte restaurants vary in standards mostly poor if you are happy to tip a waiter who takes 20 minutes to bring a coffee this is the place for you . Never again .
