More than I expected
While we enjoyed the food, it was the absolutely excellent customer service that truly elevated our stay and made it so memorable. The dedication of several staff members was remarkable. Kasey, a bellhop, went above and beyond, assisting with transportation and even anticipating our needs without us having to ask. Kiesha Bennett Jones also provided exemplary service. We especially appreciated Monique in the dining halls; her cheerful demeanor and genuine pleasure in serving guests made our meals particularly enjoyable. And I must commend Kerrissa, my massage therapist, for her excellent work. The poolside entertainment was enjoyable as well! Despite the rooms being a bit worn with a small, outdated TV, peeling paint and broken fixtures on our balcony the overall experience was outstanding. Improvements in communicating daily activities, including what was available on both the Luxury said and family side when beginning the stay would have helped. Scheduling larger parties was difficult on the app and getting help with that was not always easy. Overall all I will be coming back.

Not "Luxury"
Disappointed Stay at Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience at Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay left us incredibly disappointed. Check-In & Room Issues: Upon arrival, it took over two hours to get our room ready because staff repeatedly had to find a supervisor to approve it. Unfortunately, the room was far from acceptable once we got in—roaches by the entryway, no blanket on the bed, and sheets that were paper-thin. We had to search the closet for a barely adequate blanket and repeatedly request more than two washcloths each day. One of the most concerning issues was getting locked in the bathroom for 10 minutes because the doorknob was missing. The toilet door was also broken and wouldn’t close properly—my husband had to fix it himself. Amenities: Electrical outlets were limited, the TV was very small, and the screen quality was beyond poor—blurry and outdated. This room was not what you expect from a “Luxury” resort. I requested to be moved, but was told there were no other rooms available. Staff & Service: The front desk staff were unhelpful and dismissive, and follow-up on concerns was nonexistent. Even after explaining everything during a guest survey, we were told a manager would reach out. That never happened. The workers from the Privilege Club were extremely pushy and misleading. They aggressively promoted a “free massage” without disclosing the catch—attending a 90-minute presentation—and were rude when we declined. The Bright Spots: To be fair, the food was excellent and most of the staff (excluding the front desk and Privilege Club reps) were kind and hardworking. Bottom Line: This resort did not meet expectations in terms of service, room quality, or responsiveness. We will not be returning, and I would caution others to think twice before booking here.

Perfect
Visited with my three children to celebrate my 50th birthday and what a birthday it has been. Beautiful hotel, super friendly staff, the pools are perfect and the food is just amazing. The sunsets on the beach are stunning. Only one thing I wish I could change… wish I’d booked for two weeks!
