Beautiful resort with minor inconveniences
Honest review from 6th trip to Mexico. *IMPORTANT* they do not mention how helpful their website (QR code) is. It has activities for the day and you can book as many a la cartes as you want on there! They really should promote it more. Food was amazing. A la Carte’s were all good except for street cart one (it’s a buffet style) which we were disappointed with because we wanted a full service meal, not standing in line for our meal. Staff were great and hardworking. Room - not sure if it was just our room or if all rooms are like this, but ours was EXTREMELY damp all day and all night. Our bed felt wet and uncomfortable and we brought home damp clothes. The AC was confusing and didn’t seem to work well at all. The ceiling fan wasn’t above the bed which would’ve been helpful with the warm temperature. Overall, the room was clean but could use a deep clean in certain areas. Wildlife - awesome. We saw monkeys a couple of times, plenty of iguanas, agoutis, even a porcupine. We also saw 2 sting rays when snorkelling near the barrier. Beach - far from the rooms. Sand is very rocky, beach volleyball area was not soft and water is very rocky so I would highly recommend water shoes. Not my favourite beach. Pools were very nice but they all pretty much had broken ladders. Lazy river was usually always busy and people sometimes hog the tubes and go for a 2nd round. Pool bars were good but hectic and you’d have to wait a while for your drink because the bartenders were so busy. Around the resort, LOTS of walking. Make sure you have everything you need when you head to the beach because it’s a trek back to the room. There were a few areas that smelled of sewage, we actually held our breath when we walked those ways. Bars - main lobby bar, Carlos makes amazing drinks- fresh espresso for the best espresso martinis we’ve ever had. Servers were always around and anytime you sat down, they’d be there right away We did the bike tour - definitely recommend it, David was awesome taking us to private cenotes and teaching us Mayan history. Would definitely recommend doing it! Overall it was a nice resort, beautiful wildlife and tropical plants but I wouldn’t give it 5 stars just because of the damp room and disappointing beach.

Overall poor experience, Avoid!
This is a very honest review of our experience at this hotel.. Starting with the positives, the food was brilliant with a wide choice of restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, there’s always food available. The pools were great and the pool areas were clean. The lazy river is great. Onto the negatives.. the rooms are terrible. We had to move rooms 3 times during our stay due to various issues such as faulty showers, broken light fittings and furnishings etc. 1 week into our holiday we had heavy rain, came back to our room and the ceiling had fallen through! We were advised to enjoy our day and that it will be fixed on our return to the room, 6 hours later we came back to the room and nobody had even looked at it! The pictures on travel sites are very misleading and we felt a bit catfished! We got the impression that the hotel just rely on guests to point out issues with the rooms. Which for a TUI 5* just isn’t acceptable. The ‘beach’ isn’t even a beach, if you’re expecting the typical white sands paradise beaches - this is far from it. The Bar situation can be frustrating, not enough staff serving and so your often queuing for 10+ mins for a drink. There are staff who serve drinks to sunbeds, but we found that they’d bring us one drink, we’d tip, and they just wouldn’t come back! There are sun-bed wars if you’re not up early enough! Management in the hotel are basically none existent, we have various issues during our stay and despite multiple requests to discuss these with the manager - they avoided us like plague. After 2 weeks we never actually got to see the manager! We felt that the service in general was just a bit poor - it was like nobody communicated! We’d contact reception from the room and once we got to the desk nobody was aware of our call?! We’re generally not the type to complain and grumble but I felt that we paid a lot of money for this holiday which turned out to be miserable and we couldn’t wait to get home. I would advise anyone who’s impressed by the pictures to look elsewhere and not waste their money! I’m surprised TUI are even working with this hotel. Wouldn’t come back to this hotel if it was free. Last point and main point - the beers crap.
