Feb 02, 2026The Happiest Accident
What a great resort!! My husband and I had cancelled flights and had to find a quick place to stay so we booked this last minute and I'm so glad we did. Due to snowstorms in the midwest our flights were cancelled 4 TIMES! It was so stressful and yet Dreams made it truly a dream. What was an accident turned into one of the best resort experiences. The staff treated us like royalty and went above and beyond the whole time! Reyna at check in was so kind, Ariana in concierge was incredible, Hugo & Omar serving drinks on the beach were on top of it! The staff makes a huge difference here! The little touches like cold towels, welcome drink and everyone saying "Welcome home" really set the tone. The food was incredible, the drinks were top notch and watching the sunset there literally anywhere at the resort was so beautiful! Did I mention they had whales right off the beach rolling and breaching in the beautiful water! We will be back!!!!!! Actually can I go back now?!

We'd go back to this resort!
We really enjoyed our stay at Dreams Vallarta. We arrived earlier than expected, so our room wasn't ready. The helpful man at the front desk offered us an upgrade to a room on the penthouse floor for an additional fee, and we decided to splurge and take it (which also gave us access to the Secrets Vallarta side [the adults-only side of the resort]). It was very quiet up there, especially since there was no one above us. The room (2566) was very spacious, the shower was huge, the vanity had ample room for all our toiletries, and there was a separate toilet room for privacy. We especially enjoyed that there were screens on the balcony doors, so whenever we were in the room we left the glass doors open to enjoy the fresh air. Our room had a great view of the ocean and the whole resort. We didn't ever hear any other guests or any traffic noise at night. There was some minor local construction noise during the day, but it wasn't bothersome. On two of the four nights we were there, the hotel lit off fireworks on the beach after dark. That was quite loud, but it was a really nice display. The buffet had theme nights for dinner, which we went to a couple nights, but we preferred eating at the Castaway restaurant for dinner (no reservations required) - the food was delicious and it was a little quieter. We also checked out the coffee shop (their pastries are DELICIOUS!) and the jewelry store, and a new gift shop opened in the resort while we were there. The location is great - there is a lot of beach walking available, and it's within walking distance of both the Malecon [downtown] area and the La Isla mall to the north with more upscale shopping. There are a lot of small stores and pharmacies all over the place. We felt safe walking back from the Malecon area even later at night because there were so many people out and about. One word of caution: Immediately after checking in, the man at the front desk called over a guest relations specialist (or something like that) to give us information about some additional perks available to us. She was very nice, but we quickly realized that it was a pitch for their travel club, so we passed.

Great location, service, pools, and food. Perfect for our family of four (kids ages 11 and 14). Staff was helpful and kind. Only critiques would be that the beds are only full size not queens and that the teen room wasn't very exciting. But those things didn't bother us too much because we spent 90% of our time at the pools, beach, and restaurants.

Fun in the sun
Mt wife and I travelled with our daughter, son in law and two children ages 7 and 3. We had two suites on the ground floor with the walk-in pool. The rooms were wonderful and the pool was a welcome end to a beautiful day at the beach and common pools. The grandkids called this the best vacation ever. Made us very happy We splurged on the rooms and such a wonderful chain over lower priced options. This was truly a wonderful vacation

Another fantastic stay
We have been coming to Dreams Vallarta Bay for the last 10 years and would like to recognize the exceptional service of our personal butler, Mauricio. We stayed in the Preferred Club in a master suite ocean front and Mauricio made our stay over the top wonderful. He was very attentive and quick to resolve any issues we may have had. He went out of his way to make our stay extra special. His attitude and positivity are joy to be around. We can’t wait to come back next year and see him again.
