  A time was had

  We all enjoyed ourselves. Minor issues and some workers are not as friendly or professional as other workers. But overall, good experience.

  Our credit cards were stolen in our room & staff didn’t care. Poor service. Not worth it—do not recommend.

  I do not recommend this resort, especially if you value security, service, and a welcoming atmosphere. My husband and I stayed here in July 2025 for 5 days and 4 nights to celebrate our anniversary, booking an upgraded Xhale Club room. Less than 24 hours into our stay, two of our credit cards were stolen directly from our wallets in our room. We only realized it after receiving fraud alerts showing over $1,500 in unauthorized charges. We didn’t use the in-room safe—our mistake—but we still reported the theft immediately to the front desk. We spent over an hour with security and the concierge going through everything in the room, searching under mattresses, unpacking clothes, and filing a report. In the end, we were told the resort wasn’t liable because the cards weren’t in the safe. We understood the policy—but what was unacceptable was the complete lack of empathy, accountability, or any effort to make the rest of our trip better. We were advised to keep the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door for the rest of our stay so staff wouldn’t enter the room—which meant no fresh towels, linens, or daily upkeep. When we finally removed the sign on our last full day, housekeeping came but didn’t restock the fridge or refill empty soap dispensers. We had to request basics like water and toiletries ourselves. The overall staff attitude was underwhelming. We’ve stayed at several all-inclusive resorts and are used to warm, friendly service and cheerful energy—none of that was present here. Most staff members seemed indifferent, unengaged, and far from the hospitable atmosphere we’ve come to expect at similar resorts. We had noted multiple times—on forms and again at check-in—that we were celebrating our anniversary. We saw other rooms decorated for birthdays, honeymoons, and anniversaries, but ours was completely overlooked. Not even a simple acknowledgment. As for the Xhale Club upgrade—it was not worth it. The private lounge and butler service were lackluster. Our butler only assisted with one dinner reservation after following up twice. The restaurants were okay, but the buffets were mediocre at best. We attempted to try the Italian restaurant at the connected Dreams resort but were met with an hour-long wait since neither resort accepts reservations. We knew going in that this was a party-oriented resort, so that wasn’t the issue. The issue was the way the theft was handled (or rather, ignored), the lack of basic hospitality, and the general feeling that no one cared if we were satisfied or not. Several staff members asked how our stay was going after the incident, and each time we explained what happened. Every time, they seemed concerned—but no one ever followed up. Not once. What was supposed to be a special, celebratory trip ended up feeling frustrating, stressful, and disappointing. We won’t be returning—and we wouldn’t recommend it to others.

  Good Food, Service, and Beach View

  The room was clean, the waiters were professional and helpful, the beach view was amazing. I would recommend breathless resort to anyone looking for a quick get away.

  I Hate this place

  The service here is not great, and the food 🤢. Everything about this trip has sucked. The beaches look like Long Island Sound, dirty full of seaweed. Drinks, HAH, all the liquor is watered down and they maybe pouring from top shelf bottles, but my repasado tasted like water. I have high hopes for this vacation, as I came to enjoy good food, spirits and entertainment. The entertainment is good, but this place is not for people who enjoy Great Culinay Delights with Tasty Libations, not tequila flavored water!!!!!! So mad for choosing this place, a total waste of my hard earned cash!!!!!!!!! Stay Away unless u like inedible food, disgusting cocktails and my jacuzzi is fithly, broken and I would dare go in.

  Not what I expected

  My wife and I went for our birthdays and we had a great time. Read the rest of this review to know why… Rooms were very nice and spacious. Hotel and staff were very nice. The entertainment during the day was pretty boring. We were told and expected that this was a party hotel, but to be an adult only resort, during the day besides water aerobics, there was no other entertainment. On Friday there was a neon light party which was ok. Saturday was the white party on the beach that was ok. Other than that not much entertainment during the week. Luckily we had access to go to the Dreams Onyx hotel next door and there, everything was 10x better. The food at Breathless was not great. Buffet was not a huge selection. Lines were long just to get an omelette. I was not impressed with any of specialty restaurants. Asked for a medium steak at the steakhouse and got it well done. I’ve been to many resorts in Punta Cana and this was probably by far the worse. The good thing as mentioned before is that we had access to Dreams Onyx resort which was walkable from Breathless. Over there although it’s a family resort, we had so much fun. Entertainment all day during the day, great shows at night and the food was 10x better.
