    Group of 9 of us had a wonderful trip especially with Samuel our golf cart driver

    We had a great trip and the remodeling is beautiful. The new preferred building is awesome with its own pool and restaurant. We want to give a special shout out to our golf cart driver Samuel. He made our trip so fun and I can't wait to go back just to see him.

    Good, but could be better - the people make it!

    We had a lovely week at this resort, mostly because of the wonderful people we encountered there! Abraham at the preferred bar was by far the best bartender we encountered. Edhar was fantastic at the preferred club as well! At Kiki Che, David for breakfast and Luis for dinner really made our time there special. And Maru, man that woman busts her booty to get it done around the pool, we loved her!! Overall the property is beautiful, the food is good but nothing overly special. The exception was Ki Ki Che for breakfast and dinner. The food there was top notch and the dinner was worth the price of preferred alone. We felt like no one really knew what was going on at the resort from one moment to the next. We would ask about a show and they wouldn’t know anything about it. Then there were shows that happened that were never advertised on the app and we only knew about it because we happened to walk by the theater. Although we enjoyed what we experienced, there are other Secrets resorts that offer more both during the day and at night. We also wished there was a food/wine concierge like at other Secrets resorts. Though we could book a romantic dinner on the app, we were hoping to have different option as well (other resorts have given us an option of a chefs table or an elevated dinner with an outside show). I hope this is something they continue to improve upon as they continue to being more fully comfortable with all the new amenities that come with the reopening. We did have one issue and completely forgot to address it with the front desk. Our privacy light was on most of the week and yet somehow each day more water ended up in our room each day. Though we certainly weren’t upset about having the water, I didn’t like that people were coming into our room while the privacy light was one.

    New Look is Beautiful but GOLFERS Beware

    We are on our way home from our 14th stay at SPM. What a wonderful week! The renovations are not quite completed but those that are look beautiful-refreshed and updated. The rooms are bright and the bathrooms new floor plan is great 👍. The balcony furniture has been upgraded and now a very comfy spot for morning coffee or a late night cocktail. Preferred Club is outstanding. Food was wonderful. If you cannot find something you like here - there's an issue . We met up with so many old dear friends - employees. Is always feels like coming home. GOLFERS BEWARE - true golfers who love to get an early quick round of golf in. The course is now teeing off players simultaneously on the first and tenth hole. By the time you make the turn for your back 9 you may find yourself 4-5 foursomes deep at each hole and waiting 20 plus minutes at each hole. It is a shame that the course management felt the need to double their morning tee off times. This is a recent change as we did not have this issue in early Nov. There were some very upset golfers. Hard to advertise as a Golf resort when the golfing can be a problem.

    Search Wisely

    Beautiful resort, the rooms were absolutely lovely. Staff very friendly and accommodating, I had an ocean front master suite with pool, very quiet. Now food that’s a whole Nother story. Horrible food which is a shame for the money you pay to stay at this resort you would think they would have excellent food. Unfortunately I would have to give this resort a D+. Search wisely before booking. When staying at an all inclusive you wouldn’t think you would have to search for outside restaurants.

    Amazing staff!

    We loved everything about our stay especially the staff! Samuel who drives the golf carts was one of the best parts about our stay. He was very helpful, always above & beyond for our group. He always greeted us with a smile & great conversation!
