The JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar is an absolutely beautiful resort! If you love the beach and great food you'll be happy here. The customer service is outstanding. Atalia the concierge went above and beyond to help with anything I needed. It really made my stay nicer that I could always ask questions or get a ride (it is a very large place)! Try the Punta Sal restaurant for tacos el pastor and ocean views. Only negative was the pool was heated. Not an issue for me as I prefer the beach. Great activities at the main pool and a quiet pool. I loved seeing the monkeys and flamingos and was able to play tennis and do yoga in the jungle! Would return!

JOIA gives you joy!
Highly recommend this adult only resort. Great food and beverages. Nice suites. Clean rooms. Friendly service everywhere. Very friendly service from our concierge, Magda, and our coffee barista, Montse! Fun variety of entertainment every night. And we loved the different pools; quiet, spa and fun party pool with swim up bar.

We Love This Place
This is our 10th plus year (maybe more) of coming to Cancun. We love it down here. We have stayed at various places - El Dorado (various ones), Zoetry, Secrets, Riu and Excellence and we really love coming here for various reasons, Some resorts are large and it takes a while to get around, whether walking or waiting on a shuttle. Here, everything is walkable although golf carts are available. Get out early to claim your spot on the beach or by the pool, especially if there is a particular area you prefer. There was never a problem getting our same chairs on the beach. A butler is assigned to you and we had the best in Angel and Marianna. The rooms are wonderful, from the bedding to the pillows to the bathroom amenities. The bathroom is huge with 2 separate sink areas and a large jacuzzi tub. Shower is small and water pressure is low. Beautiful and serene. Check it out. Great choice of restaurants with access to hotel next door. This is an adult only resort and the one next door is kid friendly so keep that in mind. They also have a gym which was small but well equipped. There is a much larger gym next door. There is also a clinic and ambulance on site. If you go to the beach, there will be people trying to sell you stuff. Politely say gracias and they won't bother you. Also, collecting seaweed is a never-ending job so expect that noise daily. After a while you tend to ignore it. Staff goes out of their way to be accommodating. Plenty of activities and entertainment throughout the day. The buffet is always a must. We ate breakfast there daily and a few dinners. Simply wonderful . Clean, organized. It's not Golden corral! And Adrianna is the best at the omelet station. P.S. Take mosquito spray.

Fantastic Adults Only Resort - Go For The Food!
A wonderful week of dining experiences, the best of which was a magnificent Mexican dinner prepared by Chef Angel, and served with special attention and elegance by our waiter Reyes. The short ribs and tacos were indescribably delicious. Thanks to both of you for giving us such a memorable and delicious meal!!!

Another Memorable Vacation
We are return guests and have had the pleasure of getting to know several staff members over the years. Seeing them year after year, greeting them by name and being greeted back makes us feel truly "at home". Prior to our most recent vacation we had visited in May 2024 for our daughter's wedding. When my husband and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, came back in April 2025, we received a warm welcome from Paulina, Elizabeth and Nubia whom we had either met or communicated with via email last year. For those guests staying in building 70 or 71, once every two weeks you can enjoy a manager's cocktail reception on the roof top balcony of each respective building. Management makes themself available to mingle with guests and take feedback about your stay. This was a very nice and unexpected event which I hope continues. It was nice to see butlers Mariana, Gustavo, Karolina, Angel and Mauro whom were always eager to greet us and ensure our stay was meeting or exceeding expectations. We were eager to try the new Ember Steakhouse and Legado Mexican restaurants which opened in the fall of 2024. They did not disappoint - the decor and ambience were modern and comfortable, and staff were knowledgeable and friendly. We were happy to see Cristian, Guadalupe and Cecilia at breakfast and lunch at Bella Vista - those folks don't stop for a minute but do ensure they always greet you with a welcoming smile. We had the opportunity to meet chefs Noemi and Victor who were made aware of my daughter's lactose allergy. They immediately offered to tour the buffet offerings with her to point out what she should and should not eat and ensured she had an opportunity to order safe churros and even crepes a few days during our stay. Chef Noemi was amazing and made our daughter a safe dessert on several nights as most a la carte could only offer a fruit plate. On one evening she received a pistachio macaron which she said was the best dessert she's ever had! Huge thanks to Chef Noemi for make her holiday amazing. Monserrat at the Star Cafe made sure everyone who stopped by was greeted with a warm smile and "popping kisses" (if you've met her you will know exactly what I'm referring to). You couldn't help but feel happy after spending a few minutes speaking to her. Having the Star Cafe at Joia is a great addition and was certainly being enjoyed by many guests during our stay. We normally sit on the beach so we don't need to worry about finding a pool lounger but did have a chance to speak to Elisabeth, pool concierge, on a few occasions by the main pool and the quiet pool. She was eager to help if there was anything we needed. At the quiet pool, it was a pleasure to see Adriana who knew to expect us every day in the late afternoon and would simply ask if we wanted the "usual" beverage when we arrived. The Joia spa was wonderful and the massage services by Dulce and Karely were perfect. This trip was the first time we experienced Star Prestige services and appreciated the professionalism of Andrea, Javier and Gasper. The sunbeds on the beach were very comfortable, although my husband still prefers his own lounger so he can easily move it around. I wanted to give a special shout out to Mirna and congratulate her on her new role as butler. We are so happy for you and know you will do an amazing job! The resort continues to provide top notch service and the attention to detail does not go unnoticed. The staff from Star friends, gardeners to maintenance to front desk, housekeeping and restaurants/bars, are well trained and work very hard every day to ensure your stay is enjoyable. This is why we keep coming back.
