The Cofresí Beach Resort is a spacious, coastal retreat place. Each bedroom has a Cable-ready TV, double bed, and refrigerator in the closet. It is closest to Puerto Plata.

Excellent
I had problems with my room, no ac no hot water, bad tv reception. I went to guest services to get a new room. Anel worked with me to take care of my issues. She was extremely helpful and took take of my issues.. A new room with AC n hot water, complimentary fruit n cheese tray and helped me get my dinner reservations. I am well pleased with her assistance. David Sedillo

Great Solo Trip
I had a wonderful time at the resort. The food and drinks were great and I had excellent customer service! There was a lot of activities to choose from and is very budget friendly.

Sep 30, 2025DO NOT WALK...... RUN FROM THE COFRESI...DO NOT STAY HERE
No hot water, no air conditioning, no 24/7 snack bar, terrible customer service, no replenish of water or beverages in your room you must buy your own (13 USD) for a 12 pk of water. They put your beside nice villas and then trick you into a 4 to 7 hour day of a sale into a lifestyle/membership which starts at 79,000 USD and they will drop it down to $3000 USD. They forcefully confine you at the top floor of a building. It takes a lot to get out of there and you end up wasting a day of you trip. It just feels like one giant scam. The excursions are misleading. The horses are malnourished and you cannot ride them or would you want to. Its a lot of expected tipping. Your photographer chargers $60 USD for pictures and your not aloud to bring your phone or cameras as they say they don't want you to lose them but then you get no pictures of your $200 excursion unless you pay for them. The pool side is nice but you have mold all over the chairs. OH and lets not forget the trash all over the side of the hotel. the cats and dogs are fed very well. the staff spend more time on their phones then working. There is spotty at best wifi and you only get one hour a day then you fan pay the hotel 15 USD per day for shotty wifi. it is so bad. I have never been on a vacation that was so awful and i do not wish this on anyone else. Do not spend your money here it is not a 4.5 star hotel. I could continue on and on but I hope this changes your mind and you find a different hotel to stay at. The city is beautiful and the food is alright.
