    Local family Stay- Christmas

    Stayed at Riu Reggae, Montego Bay (Dec 24–29, 2025) in a Jr. Suite Ocean View for a family Christmas trip. Overall, a great experience with amazing entertainment—special shoutout to Bubbles and Nazhie for great energy and engagemnt also world-class shows! Location is convenient, rooms clean (though towel count dropped), and solid amenities. Wi-Fi worked well except in one restaurant, pools average, and bars were fantastic—Shavon was the MVP. Service was mostly excellent, thanks to Manager Lisa, but one breakfast incident stood out. Food had good variety despite a repetitive menu. Pros: lively Riu Party, jerk chicken on the beach, and friendly staff. Cons: Long walk to Riu Montego Bay—carts would help. Worth the cost! Rating: 4.5/5. Would stay again and recommend.

    Special birthday trip

    I had the most memorable surprise 30th birthday trip to Jamaica! It was one of the best times of my life. Yes, the hotel is quite a party place but it had good vibes. Pretty much everyone was friendly - people cheering each other on the karaoke and all dancing together at the pool party. The hotel had good facilities with gym and fitness programme. Good entertainment and you can also use the other Riu hotel a little further up the road. Special shout out to Khadijah our girl who looked after us every night in the restaurant, also to Zahaire. Not forgetting Winston on bar service as well as all of the entertainment team. Sending you guys lots of love and healing vibes after the natural disaster you’ve experienced. Thanks for great memories and hopefully will return in the future.

    Reggae not

    My were there during hurricane Melisa but my review is based on the 7days we were there beforehand and not during or after. When we arrived we arrived the staff were friendly enough. We checked in and found the only lift in the hotel up to the 2nd floor from there it was 130yds to our room. There were rooms further than ours. It was all stairs. The room was large with a king size bed, the bathroom was big enough but the shower head was dirty and the shower poor. Food was okay but nothing special. We didn't get chance to try the other restaurants which you had to book but were limited to space. There were two pool bars a concert area bar and the lobby bar. Pool bars were closed at 7pm and the other two were always busy and unfortunately the bar staff hadn't a clue who was next/ However if you were black American you always got served first. Unlike us Brits that don't tip as well as they do. The lobby bar was the worst. When it came to entertainment there was very little in the way of reggae music it's more Ibiza. The shows in the evening were poor mostly karaoke. The entertainment team were only interested in the Black American guest and we were never asked to join in games during the day like they were. The music around the pool from 11am was all club type not reggae. If you are under 40 and British don't go. I would rate the entertainment team 1. food 5. sleep 8, bar staff 5, cleaning staff 8. Noise level 10 it's loud. Amenities 3. To be honest the hurricane did us a favour.

    Nice 2 weeks holiday be going in april 2026 again be are 3rd time.

    It was good and party time good as well and food taken my wife for her birthday in march to April 2025 good 2 weeks there and the weather was great 👍

    Very good vacation. We'll be back!

    We could not have asked for a better experience at the Riu Reggae. The staff work very hard to keep everything clean from your room to the common areas. Any mess we saw was from inconsiderate guests. We chose to eat at the buffet only as there was always plenty to choose from. The entertainment team is out of this world AMAZING. I won't spoil it.. check them out yourself. The resort overall is in my opinion suitable for everyone. If you want to party, you can. If you want to just chill, you can. We stayed in a garden view room (1179) which was quiet yet not too far from anything.
