Relaxing, hassle-free family friendly vacation in a beautiful setting

We had a wonderful trip to Coconut Bay resort in St. Lucia. I travelled with my husband and three children (age 9, 7, 4). Although you can't book 5 people in a room online, we called and had no trouble obtaining a room with two queen beds and pull out. This vacation was hassle-free from beginning to end. The resort is minutes from the airport. There was a shuttle waiting at the airport and we were in the pool within an hour of landing. The resort was beautiful, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent. My oldest daughter's favourite part was the Coco Corral petting zoo. This petting zoo is an animal rescue and all of the animals are well cared for and friendly to visitors. Two very cute puppies were adopted during our stay. None of the facilities felt crowded, even though the resort was fully booked while we were there, and we never had any trouble finding a lawn chair or having to wait for meals. We also did two excursions which were very well organized and enjoyable. I highly recommend this resort for families looking for a relaxing hassle-free vacation.

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa St. Lucia

We went for a wedding here. So I do have a few things to comment on. The best thing about this resort were the people who worked there! I cannot begin to fully express my gratitude to each and every one of them for their kindness, hospitality, friendliness, helpful nature - and it's genuine, not fake at all. We stayed on the Splash side (there was a child in our group). Our room (106) definitely showed wear and tear. Bathroom counter top had cracks which were fixed with caulking. It is a beach resort so you immediately smell the humidity in the room; however, with the A/C running quite cool and getting used to it, it was not offensive. Our cleaning woman Collette was great! She kept our room clean and towels fresh. Our bed was comfortable and they give you plenty of pillows! The one thing which made us uncomfortable was the Caribbean night in which the amplifier they used made the noise reverberate throughout the room. We had had a full day and everyone was exhausted so that amplification made it hard to sleep. Heard the show was great though! The Splash side was convenient to the pools, swim up bar (one side adults and one side for the kids!) It was convenient to Flip Flops at which you could get hamburgers, pizza, they had wraps, gyros and other things, there were specials as well. Snacks were in that location as well. Hot dogs, nachos and cheese, popcorn, I think some fruit, soft drinks etc. and around that same location there were pool tables and a ping pong table. There is another pool where you can play water volleyball and they had aqua aerobics at 11 a.m. daily. On the other end of the Splash pool (going toward the steps down to the beach and to Paradise Beach and then a little further to the Surf Shack) is the Jerk Tree House. We got the chicken with the rice and beans and plantains. We thought it was very good (everyone's taste is different but the food was fresh). Next to the Jerk Tree House was the lazy river and water slides which the kids really enjoyed. We did go to the Surf Shack where we had made reservations in advance to have my grandson learn how to kite surf; however, first this is seasonal and due to there being a lack of wind, he was not able to complete his 3 day course. The gentleman who taught my grandson was patient and he learned a lot. Coming back from the Surf Shack, you hit a bar and Paradise Beach area where there are chairs set up along with all the cabanas which you can rent for a half or full day. We did not do this but others we spoke to, loved it. We went to the Coconut Walk Marketplace which I refer to as the main dining area. They had all kinds of food stations - made to order eggs, omelets, eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles, crepes. Then all the bread items and pastries. Fruits, salads, pasta station for dinner and on and on. You will not go hungry there! All the food was fresh and the servers were fantastic. We had a trainee Evelyn and she smiled and was so helpful in every way. We told her we thought she was well past a trainee. They had a coffee bar they made fruit smoothies, all kinds of coffees etc. The only complaint I had was that it was hot inside there every day we were there. There is no A/C in that large room and for me, the fans were not felt! There are no fans in the main area outside this breakfast/lunch/dinner (main dining area) as it is an open area that is large (which is very nice) has couches and chairs, it also leads to the front desk area, excursion desk, restaurant reservations area for Calabash, Silk etc. There is also a bar there. The wonderful staff there like Liam and Eran and Jedi and all of them were the best. We enjoyed them immensely and thanked them several times as well as tipping them. These guys multi task trust me. Tari was the gentleman who met us outside the airport at the booth to tag our luggage and get drove us to the resort. So friendly, kind, knowledgeable about the resort and the island and he too wore many hats. Now for the wedding. We had a very large party. We had the welcome dinner and reception at the Eternity Beach Gazebo. It is in a semi open area so table on the outer area may have been somewhat comfortable with a breeze; however, any of the other tables further back and toward the bathrooms were NOT comfortable. They were hot and red faced. There are no fans set up in there nor are their ceiling fans. I would highly recommend the resort do something about that. Also they do not have speaker around the gazebo so the large speakers on the ground so it was very loud; however, when we asked, they turned it down during dinner so we all could have conversation. Again, I would suggest doing speakers, if possible around the gazebo rather in one spot. The food for the wedding itself was buffet style but oh my gosh the food, we personally thought, was very good. They had duck, chicken, steak, salmon, octopus salad, quinoa salad, mac n cheese, gluten free option, dessert. Again, the staff worked very hard to keep everyone happy. They were excellent. We did take an excursion - the private, approximately 4 hour tour of the island where we chose where we wanted to go. The water fall was great, going to see and drive through the volcano, and going to the mud bath as well as lunch at the top seeing the Pitons with our driver "Danny Boy" who we laughed and joked with all day was great! Going back to food (you can't avoid it at this resort! LOL) We did go up to Veranda which is outdoor seating and the food was good; however, it was good downstairs in the main dining area as well. We went to Silk - Asian Cuisine, the sushi our family said was good. They put a different spin on things like the fried rice, general tso's chicken, wonton soup etc. each person's taste is different so I will say go and you be the judge. We were not able to get into Calabash; however, again, our family who did get in said the surf and turf was excellent. We went to Trattoria. The lamb shank was very tender. Our group did not like the sauce. Again, they put their own spin on it with spices etc. The fettuccine with shrimp alfredo was dry but when I asked my server to bring extra alfredo sauce again, so accommodating. The sirloin steak was good. Some of our other family members went to Seasons Veggie Bistro (Vegan/Vegetarian cuisine) It is too bad they do not allow children as there are many who are vegetarians and would have loved the food there. They said it was so delicious there! We did attend the dinner on Caribbean night and the food was tasty. They had a goat dish in their special sauce and it was delicious. Not gamey and very tender. Unfortunately, we did not go to use the tennis courts/pickleball courts, nor did we visit the paintball area. Everyone enjoyed (adults only) the silent headphone party (upstairs and outside on the Star Gazers Patio). There was also a pool party on Harmony side with bubbles etc. that everyone enjoyed so very much. With all that said, we enjoyed our family and framily. The place was a venue for a beautiful wedding of our family member. We live in a tropical location with beautiful beaches, restaurants, entertainment etc. So glad to have had the experience here and for most people, they will go back annually. For us, we want to explore different places not only here in the US but other countries as well. Hope this review helps people get a feel for the resort.

    Hotel Coconut bay, St. Lucia

This was a lovely hotel for families or couples as it had two separate sides one for families & one for adults only . It had a variety of entertainment for both as well . Plus it had a beach infront of the hotel, the hotel was set in large grounds so plenty to walk around. A very enjoyable 10 nights stay . Would definitely recommend it .

    Very Good!

Very Good! Travelled from England as a family of 3 (child 11) in April 2025. Overall this was a great holiday and thoroughly recommended. Our view was that it was about 4.5 stars! The disappointing elements were: The rooms were pretty basic and the bathrooms were small with quite weak showers The entertainment in the evening was sometimes so loud that you literally couldn't hear the bar staff at times! The pools were slightly cold initially (although that was due to the weather really) Coinciding with Spring Break and thus often feeling a little 'overrun' by the sheer number of 'loud' North Americans! However, this was more than made up for by: The quality & choice of food being excellent (the 'upgrade' to Silk was really lovely) A lovely bar area for the evening The staff being mostly very helpful & friendly (particular mentions go to the excellent Neptune, Dona D, Jamal, Godfrey, Stacii, Lester, Brad & Quincy and Kianda & Chloe on reception (even if she did describe me as 'troublesome!!! 🙂) The service at the bars being generally pretty good (with the drinks being international brands) The ever-helpful Michi at the excursion desk The speed of service in the Flips-Flops diner The fun foam parties and choice of pools The water park and lazy river (just a shame there weren't more slides! People trying to assist if there were issues (Tara at the A La Carte upgrade desk and Roney remedying an issue with our late checkout spring to mind) Was this perfect? No; but it doesn't pretend to be. Overall it's a pretty good hotel that does most things right!

Great resort, wonderful staff, and beautiful island.

Coconut Bay was a wonderful experience and the staff were incredibly nice, welcoming, and personable. Marz, Dre, Ersking, Eddy, Tyron and so many other staff members made our stay that much more enjoyable. Other reviews online have complaints about seaweed and wind/ waves. We had no issues enjoying the beach, in fact we went to Sugar Beach and the seaweed was worse in the water. Overall phenomenal experience, and I would highly recommend to anyone coming to the island.
