    NOT MY KINDA PLACE

    If you want a beautiful beach front resort, this is your place. If you want good food and friendly courteous staff this is NOT your place. The steak at the Steakhouse restaurant had no seasoning and had more fat than lean meat. The vegetables were uncooked. The food at Japanese restaurant was completely inedible. The bar at the pool was nice but there’s music only ONE day a week, thank God we brought a speaker. No TVs at the pool so if you are a sports fan, you are out of luck. The coffee bar opens at 10am each day so if you’d like an expresso or cappuccino first thing in the morning, don’t stay here.

    Work experience I’ve ever had

    This place is a dump. Customer service is horrible. The app to make dinner reservations don’t work. The food is low quality. When you ask for assistance they are very nasty. I work up to workers on my balcony and they left it a mess. My pregnant friend asked for a piece of toast when the restaurants were closed (it suppose to be 24 hour food) they wouldn’t give it to her. We had to pay a taxi driver to bring her food

    The worst of the seven Rius I have been too

    The front desk was the bright spot as well as the beach and the one night of entertainment was pretty good, after that it was an interesting stay. The help is not nearly as friendly as in Mexico. The food was so so. Broken toilet seats, missing paint, the painters hardly using drop cloths, broken tiles, just not up to Riu standards in my opinion.

    Awful

    Do not go here unless you are looking for 2 stars. Walking into the lobby it smells of mildew. Ceiling is falling apart. Needs serious upgrading. Rooms were ok but sheets were stained. Towels smelled of mildew. Even the water coming out of the shower smelled like sewage. Don’t go into the pools as someone puked in it while we were there. Food was gross, except for breakfast. We went to other hotels for dinner and nightlife. The one bar the hotel has open at night is awful. Save your money and stay at Baha Mar or Atlantis. Only good thing about Riu was location to Atlantis. We could walk to the marina and the hotel.

    Still great!

    Pleasant and friendly staff! Resort lovely. Small Enough to navigate around easily. Buffet delish and has something for everyone! This resort also has top shelf liquors included at bars. Beautiful ocean view from all rooms. Relaxed at pool and ocean. Water a beautiful aqua. Entertainment was good as well and activity staff friendly.
