    Pura Vida!!

    We had a wonderful stay! The resort is built into a hill/mountain so be prepared for walking up and down or just call for transportation. They are great and quick to pick you up! August is the rainy season but don't let that scare you away. It doesn't rain all day every day! It's beautiful at this time. Everything is so lush and green. A paradise! There's not too many things to do right at the resort unless you schedule something with AmStar. We did our tours through another business and had wonderful success! I highly recommend doing some tours or excursions though to really experience the beauty.

    The Secret is Out!!!

    We truly enjoyed ourselves. If you are looking for a beautiful scenery, beautiful people and great food-Secrets Papagayo is the right place! Gina, Annabelle, Jennifer, Edgar and William are the absolute BEST!!!

    Not what we paid for!

    Listed as luxury - absolutely not true. Yes we arrived during the tail end of a storm but doesn’t excuse just how poor this resort is. Accommodation is dated, needs updating and the good hatches are always left unlocked. Food is generally bland but makes the most of limited ingredients. Cocktails are weak and are made with syrups! Sunbeds and umbrellas are filthy, not enough availability and not policed. Clientele appear to be incentive award winners - loud, obnoxious and dominate the communal areas. Maybe unconnected but we definitely sensed a high level of ‘tourist fatigue’ amongst the staff, particularly when on duty in the coffee shop. In the end we transferred at our own expense to another hotel (Marriott) that actually was luxury and first class cocktails where you can taste the alcohol and made with real ingredients (fruit and juice).

    Had a wonderful time!

    We had a wonderful time at this resort! The staff was attentive and the beach views were incredible. The only downsides were walkability and wait times for transportation. Highly recommend!
