Not Too Bad
I came for my 60th birthday, it was 12 of us! This was better than expected, reading some of the reviews I was terrified of coming here! Everything was alright, room was nice, beds were very comfortable, some of my birthday crew had problems with no sound on their TV. The food is good, drinks good, plenty of pools, beach was nice! I think the service was good as well! Now the place very much so needs to be updated on all levels! We were in a three bedroom, there were only 4 outlets, one in the bathroom, one between two of the beds and the other two between the bar and refrigerator which is difficult to plug things into! Bathroom smells a little musty but other than it was a alright stay!

Out of place
If you are used to nicer resorts don't go here. The food was bad. The liquor selection was bad. It is definitely catered to a younger crowd. The restaurants are mostly buffets and the food tasted like it had been cooked for a long time. The liquor was watered down and not much of a variety.

Great place to turn 30!!
My partner and I went on our first vacation here for my 30th birthday and the resort was an awesome place to turn thirty! If you get a chance to hit up the parties off and on the resort you will not regret it! Great places to meet people and have a fun time!! Only bad thing is the tv was in Spanish so bring a fire stick

Fair price fair service
Stayed for a week with friends in separate rooms, we had issues with our keycards everyday luckily no one else in the group has this problem. Had to exchange 11 cards throughout our 7 days so at least I got my steps in walking to the main lobby. Room maintenance was prompt and good. Our toilet handle broke first day and our shower head would never stay put. Main issue was requesting water through the app. We had 3 people in our room and had 3 bottles when we arrived, but when requesting 3 bottles we would only ever receive one or two. This persisted the entire trip and was frustrating but nothing terribly annoying. Servers were nice but slightly aggressive pushing wine and champagne the entirety of your meal. Pools were great. Beach was clean and the evening events were as you'd expect for an all-inclusive. Snorkeling excursion booked through the resort was amazing and we had an amazing guide Jorge, just be prepared with simple lessons in Spanish as it appreciated by the locals.

May be better if you're younger
Would I go back there again?....sadly, probably not. With all the All Inclusive options out there, I would try elsewhere if I were to go back to Punta Cana. I have nothing 'Extraordinarily horrible' to review, but this was my experience at this resort. To give a little context, I'm 60. I've been to several RIU hotels over the past couple of decades. I'm a fan of the resort chain. The hotel property is large. Be prepared to walk a lot depending on where your room is located. When we arrived. and got into our room. We noticed the room was pretty warm, almost 80 degrees. We tried to turn the thermostat down, but nothing was working. We went down to the front desk, and let them know. We were told it would be fixed. We let them know again later that night that no one had been up to fix it. Again, in the morning, we went back the the front desk and told them again. They decided to put us in another room. So we packed all of our items up, as instructed, and they moved us(and our stuff) to a different room. Room is cooler.....good. Lots of places to sit around any of the 5 pools there. No lack of seating.... One of the issues I had was there was little to no wait staff for the pool areas. I've been to many RIU's, and there has always been people coming around asking if you want something to drink, etc. We only had that for a day or two, then nothing. If you wanted a drink you had to go to one of the pool bars and get it. Not tragic, just disappointing for what you pay at an All-Inclusive. Another issue was, if you wanted to know what was going on as far as pool activities, if you weren't in the main pool, you were in the dark. The entertainment staff didn't engage with too many people outside of the main pool area. The only time they came around and spoke to us is if they needed more people to play their games, like darts, etc. Other than that it was radio silent from them. (other RIU's, they come up just to say hi in the mornings, ask questions, or just chat). Very disappointing. Back to our replacement room. Our ceiling started to leak in front of the mini fridge area. Most likely from the air conditioner (as the vent was right there). We had a lot of drippage. We literally had to put the trash can under it with a towel to catch as much of it as possible. We let the front desk know 3 times over a day and a half before they came up and fixed it. Also, the shower ceiling in our bathroom looked moldy....couldn't tell if it was a bad paint job or mold. Either way, yuck. And a weird one....no wash clothes. Maybe that's a cultural thing? The food at the Buffet was fine. Neither great, nor terrible. The Buffet and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating. I loved the idea of 'Adults only'. No worries about children crying, running around the pool areas, etc. The issue I had were the adults who were acting like children who had never been away from their home. (this is probably where my age is going to show) It's a hotel. Yelling in the hallways at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning..... Really? Playing your music on your device LOUDLY, in the buffet area at lunch and dinner, and in the hallways so everyone can hear. Again....Really? Maybe what's needed is a 'rule' about being quiet after a certain time at night?? Also, if you're not prepared to see a lot of naked lady booty.....this may not be the Resort for you. Women of all shapes and sizes strutting their stuff.
