If you like to drink this is the place for you
The property was beautiful. The food could have been better. The food in the main buffet was never hot. Not too much to do other than drink. The pool parties were not on site and there was a limited bus schedule to attend. If you missed the bus there was not any activities on-site to do. There were many minor room repairs needed.

THE WORSE HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. BIRDS EATING THE FOOD YOU'RE BEING SERVED
So, let me start by saying, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! 1. My wife sat on a dead mouse under her couch for 2 hours. I lost my lighter, went to lift up the cushion and there was a dead mouse. 2. Stray cats all over the property. 3. The birds were not only eating the food off your plate when you got up from your table, but I saw them eating the food straight from the distribution table where the food was being served. 4. There was multiple roaches in my room. 5. We got stuck in the elevator on day one. 6. You have to make reservations for certain restaurants, but the workers were letting people bypass this wait if they gave them money. 7. The burgers had me so sick one day, that I did t want to eat for the rest of my vacation 8. I wanted ice and the machine worked on one floor, MILES from my room. 9. The beach front is NOT a beach front. You are so far away from the beach and trees cover your view 10. Its so loud and ghetto every night, People dont sleep and neither will YOU! 11. My TV had 2 English speaking channels, and two large lines going down the screen. I made management aware of all this, and he only offered to change my room. Then gave me a customer service email to complain to. I sent an email, and still havent received a response. THE WORSE HOTEL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE, AND I TRAVEL THE WORLD!!!!!!!

Great place to party
Went over the Christmas break. This is a very large resort, be prepared to walk 10-15 km a day getting around. Pros: - Very clean - almost always people mopping, cleaning walls and pools - Very strong drinks - Lots of pools and sun-chairs - White sand beach - not rocky - Riu Pink Party is worth attending - best part of our trip - No reservations needed for the A La Cart Restaurants (you just show up and are given a buzzer if there is a wait) - House keeper was amazing, even brought us an extra pillow without being asked. - Very easy to navigate the resort, no getting lost - Water slides were fun and well maintained Cons: - Couldn't go in the water at the beach without the guy blowing a whistle at everyone when 50 feet down the beach people were in the water. - DJ in the disco wasn't very good - kept changing the songeat making it almost impossible to dance (didn't play any English music) - People smoking everywhere - in the pools and all the social areas - would have been better if there were designated smoking areas - Food was repetitive and lukewarm most of the time. Most of the meat looked undercooked. The A La Cart restaurants are also buffets which was odd since normally the A La Cart restaurants are a set meal served at the table. - Shows not well advertised and theatre outside so if raining you got wet. - Large groups of people speaking loudly everywhere - no real quiet areas. - Service was hit and miss at the buffets and A La Cart Restaurants - sometimes they were quick to provide drinks and clear plates other times you couldn't even get a coffee despite tipping. - Had to pay for the pool tables in the Sports Bar - very expensive at 5$ CAD a game - Sports Bar was also supposed to have food 24/7 and most nights you couldn't get anything because the food bins were empty and not refilled. Overall it was a very well manicured, well maintained resort with decent service and a great party environment.

5*star! Cheap skate
This hotel is rated 5*, I would at a push 2*, it's so rated for the facilties, pools, Restaurants, not the room,(it should be be) guests use the rooms more often , than some off the facilties, the rooms are a right mess, drawers don't shut, wardrobe drawers don't slide. We first moved into a room with no phone working, toilet don't flush, so we moved into a another room, toilet door handle came off. As for booking Restaurants, first come base, no booking confirmation. The rooms need updating

5 star resort with a 4 star feel
The good: The resort is clean and has ample leisure space for all guests. We never had a problems finding space at the beach, at the pools or at the buffets. The room was clean and spacious. The service staff is friendly and helpful. There are activities every day (music, games, etc). There is a general store to buy basic things and medicine if required. The bad: Check-in can take awhile (specially when coming back for the key at 3pm). There was a bit of sewer smell in the bathroom (seems like a plumbing issue). The steam room in the spa was way too hot. The hot tub in the spa was just warm, not enough to be called a ‘hot tub’. The specialty restaurants have a very small limit of guests per night (I want to say around 50 guests?) - after that they just tell you to come back next day at 6pm. We were in line at 6pm for the steakhouse and were told they were already fully booked for the day (along with half the people in line). I am pretty sure a number of the specialty restaurants are just buffet style as well (just more specific food), at least Italian and Asian were like that (no ‘menu’ with meal prepared for each order). The general store prices are very expensive. Neutral (good or bad depending on guest): Don’t expect to sleep early with all the music/entertainment going on usually until 11pm. Out of their control: The beach is kind of rough in that area, most days they had a red flag (no swimming), but if you walk 15 minutes to the right (past the turn), the beach is usually calmer with swimming allowed. There’s nothing around the resort (stores, etc), I think this is true to pretty much every resort in punta cana. We went in the low season for seaweed and there was a lot of it (sand and water). The beach vendors are out to con you on every chance they get, you’re better off not interacting with them (I hear even tourist restaurants will do that) - they’re ruining the tourism and hurting themselves long term but all I can do is warn others and not return.
