Honeymoon
Came here for our honeymoon and went for 4 weeks. I am someone who does my research so knew it was a party hotel however we always found an area to go which wasn't as party. We had a room near the waterslides which was fairly quiet and this is where we sprnt most of our days Rooms were cleaned daily and the maids did a great job we did read reviews before we came so took dehumidifier bags which really helped keep the room dry mini bar was filled every other day but we often requested axtra via the app Food was generally good we did have a few days where we were unsure of the food however when coming for so long this is to be expected waiting staff in the resteraunts as a whole were very atentive Entertainment we didnt get involved very much but people were all seeming to have a great time The resort is generally clean but sometimes its the guests who just throw rubbish everywhere why cant they just put it in a bin Tipping before going read multiple articles and facebook posts about tipping and we did tip staff incluiding the gardeners who do a fantastic job however i honestly did not see a lot of tipping added Laundrey service we used twice quick and efficient and good value for money

Overall we had a good time. Entertainment staff was fun! Food was ok at best. Need to properly label items on the buffet for each meal.

Our honest review
After reading some reviews, we were very nervous about going. GOOD THINGS Check in was quick, I'd already checked in using the app. Allocated room 1406 which is on the left of the check in desks. The room was large, clean, everything worked well, the air con was a god send due to the heat. We've visited the Dominican many time so know due to the high humidity bedding, towels and floors feel damp, we took dehumidifiers from the £ shop in the UK, you can also buy them there from the supermarket behind the Blue Mall for about 300 DP, the hotel offer free trips to the Blue Mall 3 time at day, you get dropped off then picked up 2 hours later, worth it just for the supermarket, all info on the app. We choose to eat in the Mangu buffet restaurant, it's smaller and closest to our room, we didn't like the main buffet restaurant it was way to loud and crowded for my autistic tendencies. The food is typical AI, always found something, we certainly didn't starve. The resort is vast, we visited the pools by the beach a few time, the beach was red flagged a few days, the waves were really large, it was just nice walking up and down the sand and a great excuse to visit the jerk chicken shack on the way back to the pool, OMG it's amazing. The evening entertainment was standard in my opinion. We didn't attend any of the themed party nights on or off the resort our party nights or long done being in our 60's, the resort is great for all ages, there's pools, bars and areas to suit everyone at any age. The water slides were great fun. NOT SO GOOD😏 People not knowing their limitations with alcohol and drugs, not being respectful to staff and other guests. Not clearing up after themselves. People freely smoking weed. Being offered weed to buy on the beach. None of these stopped us from having a great time, its my values and common sense. POOR 😕 😒The hotel offer free beach/pool towels, these very often run out throughout the day, even at 8.30am, it was always come back in 10mins. 😏The on site shop is very expensive, but offer a good range of essentials and gift items, it's worth a visit to the Blue Mall info is on the app, the hotel offer a FREE shuttle 3 times a day, your given a leaflet that needs 3 stamps from certain shops, YOU DON'T NEED TO PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THE SHOPS, YOU JUST NEED THE STAMPS TO SHOW YOU'VE VISITED THAT STORE. to get free shuttle back to the hotel. Theres a supermarket at the rear of the Mall. TIPPING/SERVICES In the UK we are not in the habit of tipping, some guest there are well used to tipping. We tipped the housemaid daily, we had no issues, things were done to their standards well, you need to leave the card provided in the room on the bed if you wanted the bed changed. We got fresh clean towels daily. The fridge was restocked every other day. I'm sure if you didn't tip you'd still get the same service We gave tips to the bar and restaurant staff every couple of drinks/meal again you'd still get served or waited on if you didn't tip. The tips we gave and the amounts we gave were our choice. OVERALL We had an amazing time, met some amazingly lovely people. The resort is clean, the staff are friendly and polite, drinks are very nice, our sleep quality was outstanding, the app is great, they are very responsive to any request. Would we return YES.

COME IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!! PROS: Friendly staff Strong drinks Good food (especially the jerk chicken hut) Great atmosphere Great location Amazing pool parties Friendly guests (you will definitely make friends) Good distance from the beach - clear waters CONS: Didn’t stay long enough 😩 The food in the sports bar isn’t that good, however there are a lot of other chances to eat in the hotel Rooms were okay, do not expect luxury
