    We will return

This was our first stay at Dreams, although we have stayed 10 times before at sister property Sunscape Sabor, which is undergoing major renovation. Room – Ocean front room on 4th floor of Villa 33 was very nice. Cold AC, hot water and firm bed. Berenice in Housekeeping did a great job of working around our schedule to keep our room clean. Stairwell was dim/dark at night, could really use some lighting. Minibar – Had to make multiple requests for bottled water and coffee/decaf replenishment. Resorted to getting water at the gym and Coco Café. Food – Tried all the restaurants at Dreams and Secrets. Food was generally good with plenty of variety. Could do a better job of keeping hot food hot and cold food cold. Bars – Drinks were adequate. Any allegations of watered-down drinks are simply false. Gym – Used the gym every day of our stay. The ellipticals were adequate for my purposes. Could use additional light free weights. Amenities – Pools – Loud. Maybe crank the volume down a notch. Tennis courts – We never saw anyone playing tennis in 16 days. Convert them to pickle ball courts and you will have new guests coming in droves. We brought our own paddles and made do. Sail boats – Two Hobie Cats have been parked on the beach for over a year now but are unavailable for sailing. Make them available for use or remove them. Diving – We have used Dive Palancar for over ten years. Highly recommended. Ask for Luis. Staff – Overall the staff is great. It’s like an annual family reunion for us with many of them. At the risk of overlooking someone, we especially appreciated Clara at Olio, Roberto at the Pizzeria, Eloisa, Carolina and Elizabeth at World Café, Kenia, Mario, Roseanna, Gaspar and Ricardo at Market Café, Miquel, Vicki and Diana at Oceana, Julian and Luis at Windows, and Eugenia at the pool/beach. Gratuities – Sure, the Travel Itinerary says gratuities are included, but trust me, you won’t miss 100 one-dollar bills when you get home, and it will be much appreciated. Bottom line – Have reasonable expectations, smile, say “por favor” and “gracias”, and you will have a great vacation.

ScubaBoard SURGE 2026 Cozumel Event Trip Report

ScubaBoard SURGE 2026 Cozumel Event Trip Report Our host for the week was the Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and Spa, where we traveled with a spirited crew of approximately 60 members in mid- January. Seamless Arrival & Accommodations The logistics were handled flawlessly; our transports were waiting for us at the airport, and upon arriving at the property, the resort staff greeted us with refreshing drinks and warm smiles. Check-in was efficient, and our rooms were a highlight—beautiful, spacious, and spotlessly clean. Designed as a "home away from home," the layout included thoughtful touches like a fold-out couch, a functional desk, and a private patio overlooking the water. The daily restocked minibar and complimentary snacks were a lovely addition, complemented by the comfort of bathrobes and slippers provided in the wardrobe. Resort Amenities & Atmosphere Our crew enjoyed the luxury of space, with full access to both Dreams and the neighboring sister resort, Secrets. The grounds were well-maintained, offering a perfect balance between poolside relaxation and beachside lounging. While the pool area was a popular daytime hub (though a bit more seating and heating the pool would have been welcome), the beach offered plenty of shaded cabanas and quiet spots to listen to the waves. For those seeking activity, the entertainment staff kept the energy high with various events, and snorkeling was easily accessible right from the shore. The Suncape property between Dreams and Secrets was underconstruction and sectioned off. You could hear construction noises during the day, but I felt it really didn't interfere too much with our experience. Dining & Service The culinary experiences offered by the resorts were varied. Breakfasts featured buffets with made-to-order omelets and eggs. Unfortunately, ham, sausage, and bacon were only served at the omelette station. For lunch and dinner, we enjoyed a mix of diverse à la carte restaurants and buffet options. I do feel that the food options at the buffets could be more varied and well-heated. A special mention goes to the Coco Café, which provided 24-hour access to coffee and snacks, including a much-appreciated ice cream bar that was a hit during the afternoons and evenings. Event Success & Staff Appreciation The success of our welcome and farewell parties was a direct result of the resort's flexibility. Despite some initial miscommunications and weather challenges during the welcome event, the staff responded promptly to ensure everything went off as planned. The farewell party was particularly memorable, capped off by a spectacular fire dancer show that left a lasting impression on our entire group. Departure & Extended Accommodations Due to severe weather conditions, some of our group needed to leave early or extend their stay. While there was some initial confusion regarding these shifting details, everything was successfully worked out in the end, ensuring everyone was accommodated safely. We want to extend a very special thank you to Marco, Elizabeth, Paula, and the entire service team. What stood out most during the week was the genuine friendliness of the staff; their constant smiles and greetings that made us feel truly welcome. Final Verdict The Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort management and staff did an outstanding job taking care of our group. Their hospitality and dedication made the ScubaBoard SURGE 2026 an unforgettable event.

    Cozumel Cape

Loved the resort, was very pretty , it is smaller than other resorts and everything was close together. Very relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Rooms were nice and clean. Service was really good -Rudy the valet was so nice and helpful! Only major downside in my opinion was the food, big disappointment- not much selection especially for children. Food that was supposed to be hot/warm was not, even though it was in warmers. Also, beach is very rocky, water shoes are a must if you plan on getting in past your ankles.

Fabulous food and Service at Dreams in Cozumel!!

We had an amazing meal made by Chef Manuel and had great service from Diego and Dan-O. We even got to meet Chef Manuel! They saved a table for our group of 6, had nice plates for us, made special food for us, linens on our table, and kept the drinks coming! Great food and service at the World Cafe!
