Construction & Slow Internet Marred this Years Visit

We are owners here, we come every year and we genuinely love this resort, but this year's stay was marred by constant noise from jackhammers and bulldozers due to renovations underway, which we understand are necessary, but the resort needs to let guests know up front. We got absolutely no communication about it prior to arrival nor was it mentioned at check in. Our room overlooked the area close to where the construction is currently and we literally couldn't use our balcony because of the noise and the dust. To add insult to injury, the internet was extremely slow or was up and down throughout our stay. I can't remember it being as bad as it was this year. Last, but not least, if you're an owner, don't let them talk you into going to an Owners Meeting supposedly to give you an update on the renovations and answer any questions about your contract. Bottom line, it's a Sales Meeting, with high pressure tactics to try to get you to upgrade your membership. And when you tell them NO, they get nasty and ask you why you came! When you tell them what you were told at the Concierge desk, they blatantly tell you that "you knew what this was and you came for the gifts!" Yes, we expected that there would be a sales component but we also expected to hear about the upgrades to the property and a review of our contract in terms of all the ways we can use our points, as well as hear about the upgrades underway. None of that was covered. It morphed straight into trying to sell us on upgrading. Extremely disappointing and just downright rude. Nevertheless, we still look forward to returning next year and, hopefully, everything will be completed and the internet will be better.

    Overall a great resort

My overall stay at Villa del Palmar has been generally great. Pros have been the views, access to the beach, convenient access to shops in walking distance, friendly staff, generally fast service, entertainment with the shows, and access to gym/spa/pickle ball…etc. I also appreciated that many if not all of the staff spoke very good English so communication was not really an issue. I want to give a shoutout to the staff at the pool bars…they have been the most attentive and friendly workers we met there. Special shoutouts to Nayeli, Andre, Francisco who made our stay there wonderful, always greeted us with a smile and were quick with service. Also, they remembered us which was very nice with so many faces around. The cons would have to be the wifi, the signal was weak in many places and was hard to get a strong connection to load anything and I would advise those that visit to get a beach chair early on since many people there will lay their towels down and disappear for hours when the stated rule is no more than 45 mins to leave unattended seats. Alberto was kind enough while we stayed there to help us find seats and was making sure unattended seats were then given to those trying to find seats. I would recommend this resort and will plan to return in the future.

Not a good service as they advertise

It’s sucks specially the staff at carbon restaurant. They are very rude. No policy for the staff and not well trained. Just like typical hire from temp agencies.

    Would stay again

We spent 2 weeks at Villa Del Palma Cabo in November 2025. The resort was under some updating construction but it didn’t interfere with our stay. It is great to see the company updating the resort’s. The changes will definitely improve the resort. We stayed in a two bedroom which was a bit dated but super clean and adequate. Kitchen was well stocked and beds and bedding were wonderful. There were three full size bathrooms which was great for two couples. The food and drinks were very good but pricey as Canadians. Location is great as it is super easy to walk into town. Ocean was more accessible just a short ways down the beach.

    New pool space is lovely

Arrived on Oct 31 just in time for the Halloween show, the buffet, decor and show was amazing. New lobby and pool spaces are great. Lots of chairs and bright open spaces. One Restaurant is still under renovation but it was not a deterrent to enjoying the pool area at all. Carlos was very attentive as our pool side waiter, and the activities team us amazing - they work all day at the pool then dance in the evening shows! Alana, Jeremy and Alberto really stood out to us. Looking forward to coming back when Reno’s are fully complete!
