My husband and i went to starbucks planning to have a takeout coffee and pastry. Vin, a waiter, approached us and offered table service. We had full menu choices on china plates. An unexpected surprise. Vin was helpful and kind. Unusually focused on us the customer. Kudos to Vin and the establishment. We will return during our stay. Carol and Mike

Great family resort
Service was amazing, as always in Mexico! We especially had fun with the pool activities. We were so thankful there were fun activities to do for all ages. We traveled with our three kids and they were able to join in the pool volleyball game. All of the adults at the resort were so friendly and encouraging. The staff really set the atmosphere for this. We had great conversation with Alana and Chloe who worked the pool during the day and performed in the shows at night. They were so friendly and made it a great experience for us all. The views were phenomenal while we had lunch at Carbon by the pool. The resort is also a short beach walk to many other restaurants. You can also use the facilities at the other two resorts that are part of the Villa group, but you cannot use their pools. Room was great too. We loved the Bell Hop! He was so helpful and learned our kids names. He also gave us a recommendation for a good breakfast spot in town as the resort only had two and we wanted to try a new place.

Villa del Palmar
We vacationed at VDP from Nov. 1 - 8., 5 adults and 3 children. The majority of the time was spent at the family pool. We enjoyed the pool activities including volleyball, water exercise and games. We had the most amazing pool waiter, Nico, he was kind and attentive. He went above and beyond, by far the best worker at VDP.

Underwhelming
The trip was booked through Expedia and a decent deal. Booked at Villa Del Palmar. Probably the quietest resort we have ever been to. Resortcom helped with transport to the hotel. They couldn't find our name at airport pick up and then I had to hound them to coordinate and send me info for transport back to the airport. They charged my card immediately after hanging up and then did not follow through with sending any details. No mention of construction across half the site from Expedia (pretty deceiving) Sitting at breakfast and a cement truck drives into the site 50 yards away. Pool no longer has the orca slide. They tore it out. Pool service slow and packed. They need an activities director to keep the pool area active. Volleyball and Bingo were fun. We spent all or most of our time on the beach. Get up early to get towels and reserve a beach spot. Service on the beach was slow but we had a great server named Esteban and he kept the buckets of beer coming. He was very attentive to our kids as well. He really made the beach experience amazing. We appreciated him very much. We also tipped very well. Also had a great breakfast server named Luis Antonio. Super impressed with the lifeguard in red shirt by stairs to beach. Saw him save the same lady 6 times. She kept going back out and couldn't get back in. He displayed an amazing level of compassion and patience. Evenings meals were best at Tomatillos. The picas steak is pretty darn good. Also had the catch of the day fish. Our room had a hallway window which let tons of light into the room at night. That issue was rectified quickly after a comment. We appreciated their response. All of the staff on this location are friendly and accommodating. ATM across the parking lot at the little store. $10.00 charge to take money out in pesos. Huge charge from Villa Del Palmar to convert pesos to dollars. Bring plenty of cash to avoid the need for an ATM.
