Great needed vacation.
Stayed at building 21 and our butlers Ricardo and Fredy were fantastic. Came thru with all our needs and dinner reservations. All the other staff around the three hotels were great. Great bartenders throughout the resort, especially the poolside.

Beautiful property but some issues
The property is beautiful and the rooms were clean. It was frustrating that upon arrival we found out we had to buy a $60 wifi pass for the week because this resort jams their signal so your regular cell phone won’t work without it. Leave the property and miraculously your regular phone works without wifi. You barely get a bar on the property and for the amount one pays to stay here you would imagine it would be complementary. Our room was nice but they put us in a room right next to the pickleball court and it was so loud and annoying every morning and evening listening to that. The food was decent but it’s impossible to get in even on our first day to any specialty restaurants. No availability and we found out for all three resorts there is only one restaurant with a buffet for evenings and the lines were annoying and there seemed limited choices considering it’s the only food outside of specialty places no one can get into. Also at check in we were not given wifi or allowed to pay for it until we spoke to the concierge. This was ridiculous considering we had zero signal on the property upon arrival. The final thing the property needs to address is that even with signs everywhere people go out at the crack of dawn and leave towels on every chair so that no one can ever use them. The pools next to their beach never had availability due to people laying out towels and half the time sat empty because people hogged them all day. The resort should do a better job to allow all guests to have time around the pools instead of having to walk around to every pool wondering if we would get a seat.

Awesome resort, a must stay when going to Pureto Morales.
Fantastic resort, we highly recommed it. The staff and everyone we have met has made our stay memorable and we plan to return soon. We were just there in October and plan hopefully to return again this year. I highly recommend the platinum level, we get this every trip and enjoy all the great amenities.

Clean, Calm Resort — But Limited Food & Entertainment Options
We recently stayed at Ventus at Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort and had a generally pleasant stay, though it comes with some caveats. Check-in began positively. We arrived around noon and were checked in despite the 3 PM room time, with staff encouraging us to explore the resort and eat while waiting. The upgrade process, however, was inconsistent. One staff member was unhelpful, while another later offered better options. Although we agreed to a ~$400 USD upgrade, the final charge in pesos ended up nearly $80 higher than expected, attributed to exchange rates. Guests should be very careful with currency conversions. The upgraded Gulf-view room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. No issues there. The resort itself is spotless and very well maintained. Staff across the property were generally friendly, and we appreciated the lack of pressure around tipping. Dining was hit or miss. The French restaurant stood out with excellent food and service. The Kobo Japanese hibachi, however, fell short—minimal entertainment, no soup, and average food quality. Even our kids felt it was underwhelming compared to other hibachi experiences. A notable downside is the lack of casual snack options by the pool or beach. Unlike many resorts, there are no snack bars for quick bites; all food requires going to buffet locations, which can be inconvenient. Entertainment is minimal. Aside from occasional sports activities and limited kids’ programming, there isn’t much happening during the day, especially around the pools. Because the weather was chilly during much of our stay, the heated family infinity pool at Ventus was a big advantage and got a lot of use. One major highlight was Urban Taco Night on Thursday evening—fantastic food, lively atmosphere, great music, and local artists. It was memorable and very well done. Overall, this is a clean, well-run resort best suited for travelers seeking a relaxed, low-key atmosphere rather than constant entertainment and food options.
