The REAL Treasure of the Barbados West Coast
My husband and I just returned from a week at Treasure Beach by Elegant Hotels in gorgeous Paynes Bay, West Coast, Barbados!
I cannot begin to describe how wonderful this little gem of a hotel is. With only 35 rooms, and being adults only, it is a quiet little hideaway suited best for couples looking for a little R&R and a LOT of pampering! The staff at this hotel is extraordinary and the location is absolutely wonderful! You are a minute away from great restaurants like the Tides Barbados, The Lone Star, The Cliff and Cliff Beach Club, etc.
The hotel brings in live music at least 3 times a week, and they have a weekly movie under the stars! Happy hour twice each day with half price cocktails and a nightly sunset hour where the featured cocktail is free...as many as you can drink!
The daily free breakfast is definitely worth waking up for, with too many choices to try in just a week. You will not be disappointed, even though there is only the one restaurant onsite. We never felt lacking in choices or quality here!
The beach is beautiful and the water is simply amazing. Just down the beach are swimming areas where the sea turtles are fed twice a day, so they tend to stay close which makes swimming with them possible just a few feet off the beach, without the expense of a tour. All you have to do is walk next door to the Tamarind and pick up your snorkeling equipment (included in your stay) and you're all set!
We have traveled to almost all of the Caribbean islands, and I can tell you that by far, Barbados is our favorite, and Treasure Beach is the ONLY place we will stay when we return.
YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU STAYED HERE....AND YOU WON'T WANT TO LEAVE!

We have stayed in a lot of places. This will definitely be one of our favorites if not the favorite. The food was great. The rooms were very nice. The people are one of the best aspects of this resort. They are so over-the-top nice and accommodating. The included breakfast is wonderful addition as well as the complimentary sundowner drink. Three caveats. If you like a party scene, this is not the place for you. It is very quiet. I am in my mid-40’s and my wife in her late-30’s and we are by far the youngest ones here. But that is how we like it. Two, we are one of the few Americans(if not the only ones) at this resort. It is a very British scene. So no coffee makers in the room; just an electric tea kettle and espresso maker. Here’s a tip. Go across the street to the gas station and get instant coffee. You can use the tea kettle and make coffee. Be prepared for the big tax on everything. We ate in different locations around the west coast. Add 17.5% to everything. It is that way everywhere. It is a big chunk when you are spending $100+ on dinners. The resort is small. Nice and peaceful. Great views of the Caribbean and the beach/water are fantastic. Try the Pig on a Rock across the road. Being from NC, we are particular about our bbq. It is great. Can’t say enough about this trip. Definitely going to be one of our top choices.
