If you’re ever at The Ritz Carlton in Aruba, you must stop to grab a cocktail. It’s truly an experience. Jose uses all freshly squeezed juices, the artistry in his garnishments are spectacular! It’s a cocktail oasis! 🥥 🌴🍹🧉🌺 #arubaonehappyisland #arubalife #bestcocktailsever #exoticcreationsaruba🍹 #ritzcarltonsruba #veuvecliquot

Mixed Experience
Had been to Aruba numerous times, staying typically at the Marriott Stellaris and had visited the Ritz-Carlton but never stayed there. This time we decided to give it a try. Our room (Executive Suite) was spacious with a large balcony. It was clean and comfortable. There was still garbage left from the previous guest in one of the bins when we arrived but otherwise housekeeping was solid throughout our stay. Disappointed that the Lobby Lounge area was closed for renovations while we were there (which they had alerted us to before our arrival) but we were excited about some of the events that they had scheduled to try to make up for this. One of these though led to a very disappointing experience. We had signed up for a ceviche class that they were offering. When we and two other families arrived for the class, no one from the hotel/restaurant showed up. We waited there for about 15-20 minutes before an employee unrelated to the class said they would go find someone. No one came. The class had been evidently cancelled but no one told us. We all walked together to the front desk and one of the other families was livid as they had also experienced other customer service issues during their stay. A manager spoke to all of us and indicated that there was nothing he could do but take our room numbers. The other family was still furious. A few minutes later the manager got a chef and another restaurant employee and together they found the other family outside to apologize and offered to somehow make it up to them. After talking to them, the manager and chef briefly talked to us and though he had taken our room number down earlier said we could contact guest relations to see if the class would be rescheduled. We did not hear from anyone so the following day we went to the guest relations desk. In speaking to the person there, she couldn't find any indication that they had a follow-up noted. Because we didn't remember the name of the manager that we had talked to, she said she would email David Coster directly and he would get back to us. Nothing, we got no response. Ironically, we ran into the other family that had been waiting for the class with us (the one that had been livid) and they told us they had rescheduled the class for them and it had taken place. The other family had expected us to be there also and was surprised that they didn't tell us about it. Extremely disappointed with the complete failure in customer service with this incident. On a positive note though, later in our stay we were able to take a Margarita class with Sebastian who was wonderful and best of all was Chef Melvin who taught a Sushi class. When we told him about what happened with the ceviche class, he went out of his way to add a session on ceviche for us. It was not a class that he typically taught but being the expert chef that he is, improvised and gave us a lesson. Very much appreciated his taking the time to do this for us. He truly showed what Ritz-Carlton customer service could be. The pool/beach staff were also very helpful. We rented a cabana for a few of the days and Harold, Juan, and Roel (who went out of his way to get us ice pops that we had missed) took good care of us. Jose made great drinks at The Bus Stop bar and is not to be missed. One major fail but overall, not a bad stay.

The best week ever- jonathan is the BEST
We just had the best week of our life at the Ritz in Aruba. We came immediately after getting married and can’t say enough about this place. The staff is AMAZING- especially jonathan who went out of his way to take care of us and make us feel at home. we now have a family in Aruba to visit :’). The food was all great and the hotel was absolutely stunning.

Not worth it
TLDR: Predatory pricing, food poisoning, bad food. STAY AWAY! This hotel is incredibly predatory and not at all transparent with their prices and services. When you order from Jose’s pop up bar by the pool, nowhere is a price mentioned. It’s only until after you’re given your drink that you find out it’s a whopping $45 per drink! Maybe then you’d like to order room service. We placed our order over the phone and asked for some spaghetti ($21). The worker asked us, would you like to add chicken? Well how bad could it be right? Turns out adding a few cubes of frozen chicken costs an additional $15 to a dish that starts at $21, how does that make any sense? Yes, it’s a “luxury” hotel and you should be prepared to pay up, but that usually comes with the expectation of quality and at least some transparency about how much to pay. Also, the lobby bar and sushi lounge were closed for renovation and we didn’t know this prior to booking - a huge hit to our experience since that’s the only bar open after sunset. To top it off, one of us got food poisoning after eating at the hotel. I would highly recommend staying at another hotel like Barcelo or the Hyatt. If you must stay here for some unlucky reason, then do not order any drinks or food from the restaurants on property. And always ask how much things cost before paying if it’s not clear.
