Disappointing this time sadly
Having visited Barbados and this hotel many times before our visit this time left us disappointed . The location is great, near to the Chattel houses and various eateries like Tides ( fine dining treat) Surf side ( beach bar) etc. Duty free shop across the road is great for essentials to diamonds . Beautiful sunsets from our balcony were a highlight. The hotel was quiet when we arrived and tired we just wanted to eat and go to bed, the restaurant served a la carte that night but it took ages to get served a drink and was hard to stay awake to wait for the meal. We thought that it was just a one off but sadly we experienced a very hit and miss service from the staff all holiday . Just getting offered a drink at lunch or dinner was on many occasions a waiting game. It seemed like the once great customer service that this hotel was renowned for has disappeared. As the hotel filled up during our holiday our experience of customer service remained poor. Not all waiters/ waitresses were stressed though . Praise has to go to Germaine and Darius who were great, hard working and always at work it seemed. Not sure what’s happening with the staff but they seem to work extremely long hours. The rooms are getting tired now, in need of an update. We had a sea view room which was lovely but the patio doors were hard to open plus the wardrobe doors kept coming out of their tracks and proved difficult to move. Food choices are still good and varied with a couple of nights per week a buffet . Quality of food ranges from ok to very good but hit and miss unlike recent years when quality was very good most of the time. Enid’s the Bajan restaurant seemed to have an issue with serving tables in order of people arriving on our first visit as we waited an age it seemed while others who booked later than we did got served way before we did. Not a problem usually but it became tedious. On our second visit a few days later this problem had been dealt with and the service was much better. Ladies in Enid’s very friendly. Despite plentiful sun beds when the hotel is full unless you are up very early it can be a scramble to get a bed at all never mind where you’d like to sit. Some of the mattresses on the beds need replacing. Cleanliness is very good here. Unfortunately the beach bar roof was being repaired for most of our stay as was the hand rail on the steps leading to the sea so neither were in use until 4 days before we came home. We weren’t informed of this prior to our arrival. Caroline the manager is a warm friendly and approachable lady who is eager to engage with clientele and listens to concerns acting on them in a timely manner too. The grounds of the hotel are kept well and tidy at all times. Overall value for money is fair but we paid less than most due to me getting travel discounts due to my previous job. If we’d paid as much as some people I would be making a complaint about various aspects of our holiday. Considering Barbados is a premium destination and for many people a once in a life time visit the owners need to look at making improvements across the board to not only give visitors value for money but the warm Bajan experience Barbados is known for .

Lovely location, pool areas however the staff are the issue.
We have just spent 10 nights at this hotel. I would have loved to have given a higher score and have been an advocate for the hotel, however I’m sorry I cannot. Quite simply the number of staff who are rude is not acceptable, in addition to this the hotel is desperately under staffed. This is probably impacting on the very poor levels of customer service given. Management is not existent you occasionally see one walk through smile and remain oblivious to the issues around, only the general manager showed any thought of trying to be hands on and to say it was easy to see the staff’s thoughts on her presence was quite clear to see. One breakfast after waiting 10 mins to be seated, with lots of empty tables.. you work it out the GM did a walk about tried to help but didn’t, I videoed one staff member roll her eyes and another sick her teeth. Lovely signs of respect for the person paying your wages what chance do customers have. I lost count of the number of restaurant and bar staff with zero manners. The place is a genuine 3 star nothing more but the main issue is easy to resolve get rid of 80% of current staff and replace with better and more.

Great time at the Club Barbados
My husband and I stayed at the Club Barbados last week for five days and had a very relaxing time at this property. The property is about a 10 minute walk from Holetown which was nice because you have quick access to a cute town with plenty of shops as well as two grocery stores to stock up on anything you might need. Our room overlooked the ocean and was perfect for watching the spectacular Barbados sunsets each night. We primarily ate our meals at the Sunset restaurant and we enjoyed that because the dinner menu does change nightly. Each night you select an appetizer, main course and desert. If I was looking for something to complain about, it would be the desserts. They were just okay but you can choose ice cream instead which was very good. Breakfast is pretty standard with an egg station for omelets and French toast made to order, plenty of fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereals and various breads to toast. We found a different breakfast option to enjoy every morning and didn’t get bored. (Nikita at the egg station was wonderful!!!) For an all inclusive, I thought the selection of food items were pretty good although there were some options that we just weren’t fans of but having said that, we always found something delicious to eat. Also as a side note, they do serve premium alcohol, which is not always the case at an all inclusive. To access the beautiful turquoise water, you will need to go down about 5 steps to get into the ocean. Bring water shoes if you have them because the area can be rocky but once you swim about 5 feet or so, you’ll hit smooth sand on the bottom. One of the highlights for me with this property was the green monkeys that stop by in the afternoon to sit in the trees around the pool. It was fun to watch them hang out and look for fruits and flowers. The staff were so lovely at this property. I would highly recommend booking here to enjoy for yourself. There are bits of the property that could use a refresh, but for the price that you are paying here compared to other properties in Barbados, the value is overwhelming.

Paradise
Probably the best holiday ever .from the nice easy virgin flights to the beautiful nice tight wonderful hotel. Right on the beachfront, just down a few steps and you are in the beautiful warm sea. There are the most beautiful people all waiting to serve you , there are to many to mention that go out of their way to help you enjoy your holiday. From reception to the smiling lady that cooks your eggs in the restaurant, to Germane running around getting food and drink orders. Waitresses and bar staff all making sure you get all your little heart desires. We met some wonderful people from all over the UK. London, Southend,Sunderland. 3 beautiful and polite young American girls. People come back to this hotel year in year out. I've always said..why do that..there is so much more to see in the world The location is fantastic..some of the sunsets are out of this world. Entertainment is OK. Food is good , plenty of choice and you will always find something. Staff fantastic. Drinks..fantastic Atmosphere fantastic. Don't let anything drop... Never thought I would ever say this SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR AND THANK YOU HIGGY AND NETTY XX

Relaxing and Perfect
An Amazing little resort, right on the east coast. Will never forget the sunset views from our second floor balcony. Food plentiful , with many options. Always service with a smile and these folks work real hard. Cleanliness is always important to my wife and I and the Club didn't disappoint. The lady that cleaned our room(201), did a first class job everyday. I think her name was Marjorie , as that is what was written on her cart. Front desk staff were always helpful. Nightly entertainment were small bands or single singing acts. This is not a party resort and I hope it stays that way. Can't wait to come back as five days was not enough.
