    Great!!

We had a great time at Sunscape PV! Food was great, staff was very friendly, with special praise to the pool waiter Miguel - who was attentive, friendly, quick service and memorized our drink orders every day. Make sure to reserve your pool chairs early in the am as they fill up quick!

    Family traveling great vacation

We were worried after reading many negative reviews before we left but we had a great time. We went as a family (kids 2&4) stayed in the family rooms by the explorers club. Such a convenient location kids loved the bunk beds. We loved the coffee shop and explorers club so much. Food was good coffee was great. We were there 4 years ago and enjoyed it then too. Ist in a conviniant location so you can explore off resort too.

    Don't do it.

Don't Do it. The Resort was disgusting and very trashy. The food was awful. The room was spacious, but had a horrific smell. The elevators didn't work. The staff was unresponsive via email. I am a travel agent and this is one of the worst resorts I have seen.

    Moderately ok

Travelled from January 6-14 2026 with my wife 28, kids 3 and 5 months and my in-laws 60s. There are many upsides to this resort and I will start with them and continue my review downwards. The food (when you can get it) is excellent. Our first night here I had some of the best food I've ever had in a foreign country at the seaside grill. (Flank steak is a must try If you do travel here). We also had the opportunity to try the Italian (when it finally opened for 2 of the 8 days we were here) and the service and food was kept at a very high standard. The buffet is a typical buffet at a resort offering a good selection of things, omelette bar, taco/quesadillas from scratch. Where it goes downhill is the availability of the restaurants. You would think All inclusive means, all the restaurants will be open every day, in this resorts case it means they can close whenever they want with no warning and no opening the buffet earlier if they do close 1 of their 3 "specialty" restaurants. The Mexican restaurant has an authentic Mexican experience, the food yes, the atmosphere was about 3000 degrees as they shut all the doors and windows, not sure if it's on purpose or not, but it makes the food less enjoyable when you are sweating before you even eat. The open times for the restaurants are very strange for a resort with a waterpark for kids, you would think they'd have meal times with kids in mind, although the buffet doesn't open until 1830 which is quite late we found with kids. The other restaurants if they are open are open at 1800, although that's hit or miss if they are open. The Italian restaurant has a no kids under 8 rule, which is nice but also annoying of those traveling with kids. The pool is kept moderately clean and I know it's hard to keep 300 guests filth out of a pool and they clean it regularly. There are lots of chairs around the pool and most guests are very good about reserving them the old fashion way with towels daily. Their pool rules say that there is no lifeguard on duty, there is a lifeguard during the peak hours and they make sure to be there promptly at 7 when they close down the pool even if its well lit, (understandable as I wouldn't want anyone drowning at night). The staff from all the teams are very good and do try and make your stay as good as they can. The "fun" staff are very outgoing and they try and get you to do activities and play their games. For the first half of our week they had a "licensed" aquafit instructor do a class at 12 and it was very good and then the second half of the week the fun staff did the aquafit and it just became a dance party in the pool, which was amusing to watch though had no value in it. The bar staff was phenomenal and went above and beyond every day to make new drinks and to make them delicious and fun. My 3 year old loved the "shark attack" which I'm sure he drank about 200 of them in the week. We didn't send the kids to the kid zone as they weren't old enough, but the staff there seemed very nice. The wildlife was very full, there were 3 iguanas that we saw, or dragons as my 3 year old calls them, very friendly and they make their appearances daily to get pictures and such. There was a hawk man who kept the pigeons and whatever the annoying pest bird they have down here at bay. Little to no insects outside. On our last night I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and there was a very large cockroach running around the floor, so that was a big turn off for us. The room was in pretty good shape. Half of our bed was quite used and had quite a divet in it. The shower was clean though it needed some updating, the shower head wouldn't stay up and had no pressure and no hot water at all. We stayed in the kids room with the bunk beds which my 3 year old loved, the beds themselves are good size for small kids, and xl twin, they are quite old and the metal creaked when they moved the tiniest muscle. Mini fridge was not on when we showed up which was strange, it did after a day get cold. They give you some starter drinks in the fridge, although if you didn't pay for the sunclub member you don't get them replenished, and to get bottled water, you have to call them daily to bring you new ones. All in all a pretty good resort. There are some things to work on for sure. The big ones to make them lose stars in my books are the roaches, the restaurants opening if they feel like and the rooms needing to be a bit more updated. So I'd give it a 3.5 at best. But it needs to be reflected properly, which is why I gave it a 1 star.

Don't waste your money or vacation time to go to an all inclusive resort that you get the bare minimum .

Very disappointed with my recent stay in PV Mexico at this hotel. The resort is geared almost entirely toward locals, which would be fine if it were communicated clearly beforehand. As a non-Spanish speaker, it was very difficult to enjoy many aspects of the stay. The food was poor in quality and variety, and overall not enjoyable. Restaurants with minimal Air conditioning. Service throughout the resort was also lacking—staff were generally unhelpful and inattentive. The room itself was poorly designed. There was no dresser or adequate storage, so we were forced to live entirely out of our suitcases for the duration of the stay, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this type. We ended up upgrading to the ocean view room which was bigger but still no dresser just a closet. Couch and extra blankets smells like urine. Poor housekeeping that just did bare minimum. The Explore Club was another major concern. It was conducted mainly in Spanish, making it inaccessible, and children were taken out to the pool area in ways that felt unsafe and poorly supervised. I like to know my child is in a closed supervised area at all times and not have to guess where he is when picking him up. The beach was rocky, not maintained, and extremely disappointing. There were no lounge chairs available to relax on, and guests were expected to rent chairs just to sit by the water, which felt unreasonable. Overall, this hotel did not meet expectations in terms of comfort, safety, service, or amenities. I would not recommend this resort, especially for families or travelers looking for a relaxing beach vacation.
