More accessibility for seniors please!!
Just returned from a week at St. James Club with a friend. Beautiful resort with lush surroundings. We stayed in a 2nd floor room facing the ocean.(awesome!) Our challenge as seniors were the steep stairs which were situated everywhere in the building leading to the pool area, restaurant, beach, and our room. It became tiring and frustrating as the week progressed. The ocean, pools, and bay were wonderful for swimming. For the most part the food was acceptable. We enjoyed Christmas dinner very much and a couple of nights of fine dining. The weather was phenomenal. We would not return unless there was a guarantee of a first floor room and more accessibility to the various venues.

Fourth Visit, Still Feels Special
This was my fourth time staying at St James’s Club in Antigua. I visited in October 2025 with my seven-year-old son on a bit of a last-minute “boys’ holiday” after my wife wasn’t able to join us. I realised I never actually got around to writing the review. Starting with check-in. We arrived late afternoon on 21 October and were greeted with a genuinely warm welcome from the reception team, complete with welcome drinks, which was much appreciated after travelling. We were then driven down to our beachfront room, room 350, which had clearly been recently refurbished. It was a really pleasant surprise. A huge walk-in shower, lovely new flooring (the old tiles were never great), and a big smart TV which was handy for downtime. As always, the view across the beach and sea was stunning. The only small negative was the lack of a hairdryer. This became a bit of a running joke with reception as one never did arrive during our stay. Normally they are wall mounted, so I am guessing it was just missed during the refurb. Reading some of the restaurant reviews always makes me smile. This is the Caribbean, and unless you are paying for fine dining, the food is what it is. It is not gourmet, but it is fresh, tasty, and there is plenty of choice. Our favourite lunch spot was the beachside grill. Great burgers, amazing fish sandwiches, and a simple hotdog for my son. The jerk chicken BBQ is also excellent if you do not fancy a sit-down meal. In the evenings we mostly chose Docksider as it offered the most flexibility for my son, who is a bit fussy, but we always found something he was happy with. The coffee shop deserves a special mention. Brilliant for slushies, especially the coffee one, and a quick snack. A word of warning though, the mosquitoes there are relentless. If there is a queue, do not wait around. Come back later. In terms of things to do, swimming was obviously a big one for us. We used the kids’ pool a lot, which was perfect. My son and I could swim, and the drinks cart came around a few times so we could grab refreshments. My only criticism is that after a few days the oils tend to build up in the kids’ pool, and I would love to see it deep cleaned more regularly. This is something we have noticed on previous visits too. My son is massively into tennis, so we made good use of the main courts. They are kept in great condition and have water dispensers, which is essential in the heat. He also had lessons with the tennis pro, Bennett. A brilliant guy, really friendly, great to chat with, and very reasonably priced. Bennett is absolutely worth meeting and booking a session or two with. Finally, the resort would not be anywhere near as good as it is without the people who work there. There were so many wonderful staff members, but a few particular standouts for us: Bennett, tennis pro, as mentioned above Joe-Ann, the absolute queen of the coffee shop Jahkeem, part of the porter team and always offering us a lift when he spotted us Orlando, another porter who was especially kind to my son Najah, who looked after the coffee shop in the evenings and was always chatty and lovely with my son Joniere, who always seemed to be on reception just when I had a question and was consistently helpful Donna, working in the restaurant and incredibly kind to both me and my son Overall, it was a wonderful trip. I was a little nervous about taking my son away on my own for the first time, but thanks to the people and the resort itself, it became a genuinely cherished memory. If budgets allow, I would love for us to make it back for a fifth visit in 2026.

Antigua adventure
Everything is great, somehow not busy/quiet for the 2nd week of December, just felt like we had our own private beach. The staff was really attentive We have been chauffeured around for the a la carte restaurant that is further away. The staff made sure our trip was memorable Thank you to Front desk, reception, trip organiser lady, guest services and everyone caring in the resort. The update to beachfront room was the worthful. The room is spacious and the bathroom lovely. Being waited on never felt so good The dessert in the main restaurant could be improved, the beach party was great

Our wonderful Antiguan vacation.
We enjoyed our stay in the Royal Suites area. It was very quiet. The staff are outstanding and the food was good. This place has a nice Caribbean vibe and the private tour of the island was really good. Our room was spacious with a lovely view of the bay. The resort is really clean, everyone working to constantly maintain the property.
