Awesome Vacation Spot!

Dreams is one of the best resorts I have stayed at. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff was very professional and polite. The resort had a large variety of food selections and all of the food was deliscous. The resort has its own beach with many activities, such as snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and volleyball. We can’t wait to go back.

I had a great time but I probably wouldn’t go back

Room: Comfortable and nicely furnished. Air conditioner worked better than any other resort I’ve stayed at. Ever. I like to go back to a cool room so the fact that the maids turned off my a/c during room servicing and turndown servicing was mildly annoying but like I said, the a/c works good so it cooled down again fairly quickly. Secret box for room service is an awesome touch when you just don’t feel like interacting with anyone. Spa tub was wonderful as was the rain shower which open to the main part of the suite. The toilet is behind a glass door so if you are staying with someone I hope you don’t mind a lack of privacy. Poor design in that regard. It was overall very satisfactory. Dining: I can’t speak highly enough of the dining selections. Everything tasted great to include room service. Portion sizes can be pretty small depending on the restaurant so order more food than you would normally. Entertainment: It was very good. A diverse selection. The Entertainment team worked hard to ensure the guests had a good time. Sandra and Jorge stood out above the crowd but all were very good. Water: The pool was great. The Beach had dangerous swim condition the entire trip so that can’t accurately review it but hey, there was a hurricane off the coast the whole time so there’s that. The Beach had good shell hunting. The bad: Mosquitos. As soon as the sun starts setting you will literally be eaten alive. I don’t know what thier pest control program consists of but that was the one thing that drove me nuts. I left with more mosquito bites than I can count despite using bug spray. Why wouldn’t I return? It has nothing to do with the hotel. The logistics of getting there were a nightmare both times I went. If you are well traveled and don’t mind a place that’s hard to get to off of the beaten path, give Huatulco a chance.

Overall Good Resort

The booking was easy, the flights were smooth and the transportation to and from the hotel was seamless. The room was nice with nice touches like rose petals and turn down service. The hotel was very nice and the staff was very polite as well. The hotel had multiple huge pools and the beach is great as well. We attended a few activities at the hotel, which were fun and well run. We also booked a boat excursion that was fun and well run. I also have three notable areas of improvement. First, they have a good variety of restaurants but they close a few each day and some are only for preferred guests and there is not an easy way to tell what days which restaurants will be closed. A schedule of the restaurants at check in would have been helpful to plan. Second, they try and sell you a vacation package multiple times. I paid a couple thousand dollars for this vacation and I really don't appreciate the extremely aggressive sales people taking over 2 hours of my time trying to get me to buy into a long term vacation plan. Lastly, on our last day we left the do not disturb sign on and ran a few errands knowing that we’d be back in a bit to finish packing and check out. During that time, our ipad went missing. We tore the room apart looking for it. We reported it to the hotel at checkout but had to leave for the airport. They found it within 15 minutes but told us that it was in our safe, which we checked at least 3 times. The story they gave us was not possible. Then they said they would put it in a cab to the airport but that they were not responsible for it and we’d have to pay the cab driver. We got the ipad back but we would have appreciated honesty and the hotel footing the bill to return it to us.

What's to Love

The sparkling champagne and chilly towels that welcome you to this rockin' retreat.

As of June 2018 you can bring your furry friend along!

Being tucked away beside the amber sands, ancient rocks and majestic blue surf of Conejos Bay. (Swoon.)

Rooms with pops of color moored by wooden accents that whisper relaxed sophistication and killer views of the Pacific.

Jacuzzi tubs in the bath and Gilchrist & Soames bath products to slather on yourself.

Cuddly bathrobes and slippers in every room. (Yes!)

Secrets box for private room service delivery - you don't ever have to see a human if you don't want to.

The world-class spa with melt-you-inducing treatments like Bubble massage beds - a sanctuary for the senses.

The sommelier is very knowledgeable about wine. (Sweet).

You can kick back and watch movies on the beach. (Cool, huh?)

What We'd Change

The restaurants at this resort don't take reservations, so you can end up standing in a line or two waiting for a good seat. Waits aren't terrible, though, and a no-reservations policy means no daily calls to the front desk.

Why You Should Go

Only 25 minutes from the airport - You Time is just a short ride away.

You can take day-trips to Copalita Waterfalls (refreshing), La Bocana Lagoon (secluded) and Rio Copalita (cool ruins).

You can upgrade to the Preferred Club and get better rooms with a pillow menu and much more.

Might want to brush up your Spanish like donde esta el bano? (where is the bathroom?) & cuanto cuesta? (how much?).

You can golf on an 18-hole course designed by F.M. Schjetnan Dantan and Pedro Gueraca. (There's a fee, but worth it).

Two tennis courts - schwing!

Make a splash with snorkeling, windsurfing, Hobie cats and kayaking.

For a little extra moolah, there's sport fishing, deep-sea fishing and wave runners.

For some non-water fun, you can check out billiards, table tennis, yoga and the fitness center.
