Fantastic resort

From the moment that we arrived at Sandos Finisterra we were greeted warmly by the wonderful staff. Throughout our stay every staff member we encountered went out of their way to make sure that all of our needs were met. The staff at the resort are consistently friendly, kind, welcoming, and they go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The resort itself is spectacular! Our room was clean, inviting, and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. (see the attached pictures) We spent many days watching the sun rise and set over the Pacific ocean. We were here for our daughter and son-in-laws wedding, and the wedding planners did a fantastic job, they listened to what our daughter and son-in-law wanted and made it happen. The wedding and reception were just beautiful, and we couldn't have been happier. The resort offers a wide variety of dining choices, the food was very good, but one small complaint that we had was at the Don Diego buffet and room service the food was sometimes cold. We brought that to the staff's attention and things were rectified immediately, but we did notice that this occurred on more than one occasion and when we were checking out they asked if we had any concerns or comments, when told about the food temperature issue the woman at the desk said that they welcome all feedback in order to continue to make improvements. For us, this was a minor complaint since everything else was top notch at the resort. The staff was very helpful with arranging excursions into Cabo, the resort is within walking distance to Cabo San Lucas, but if you have any sort of medical issues I would take a cab. The resort is built high up and walking down the driveway and into town would be very difficult with someone with any medical or physical disabilities. Cabs are large passenger vans and it's $8.00 USD plus tip one way. If you have a van full of people the cost is nominal, but could get pricey if it's just one or two people using it. Even though the resort is all-inclusive we still tipped (our personal choice), having spoken to friends that are frequent guests at all inclusive resorts all of them said that they tipped, and we are of the mindset that we always tip for good service. Tipping, however, is a personal choice. My husband and I are already planning a return trip sometime next year, and we plan on staying at Sandos Finisterra. We can't wait!

Overall

Great place overall and great location, next to downtown and the Marina and still on the beach with great views of the pacific. The only down fall to this resort is the food!, the food was absolutely terrible for lunch and dinner, breakfast was ok. But everything else was great

I thought the food could have been better. One if the steak houses would ask how you wanted your meat cooked but not listen and cooked all meat extremely well. The diary is not the same and has a weird taste. Maybe give bigger portions of food as well, we got small sides. The service was excellent the entire time, from the hotel lobby bar to pool service to food service at restaurants. They made the trip 100x better

2nd time around....

This was the 2nd time to visit Sandos Finisterra, as we were there last November as well. For the value, I think this is a great property. I have always considered the food better than "mediocre" which is how it is described by so many people. Must be their first time at an all-inclusive, meals mass produced property. Trust me - there are much worse. Emiliano's is always good and the service awesome. Service at the pool was good and I didn't find the drinks watered down. Fernando at Agave is a hoot and provides excellent service. We'll be back again next year in November (if not before.) Come visit then and we'll show you how to do all-inclusive. And it is really, really is OK to tip. Those folks work hard to keep guests happy, and all inclusive does not mean gratuities included! Perhaps it could be the attitude of some travelers that is not the best.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive Beach Eden at the tip of beautiful Baja. Swoon.

Releasing the munchkins to the kids' club while chillaxing in the hot tub, mojito in hand.

The jaw-dropping panoramic views from Spa Sandos, a luscious escape from reality.

Between December and April, watching the whales off shore. It's pure magic.

What We'd Change

The views of the surf from the seven-acre beach are stunning, but you can't swim here. Fortunately, Sandos Finisterra offers three sprawling freshwater pools.

Why You Should Go

The airport is just 35 minutes from the airport. You'll have a cocktail in your mitts pronto.

Don't miss visiting the epic El Arco - it's a must-do and just a seashell's throw away.

Be sure to hit the aerial walkway where you can gaze upon some crazy cool waterfalls.

Downtown Cabo and the marina are a short stroll away.
