Disappointed

My husband and I were very disappointed at the resort. It just didn't meet our expectations.

Great experience for the price

I had never been to Jamaica before and this was my first experience. Samsara is beautiful! The resort is small and the rooms are simple, but if you're going to the Caribbean, you should be spending time on the beach, not in your room! Moving between the cliffs at Samsara and the beach at Legends was very easy. Having the dual experience was wonderful! The staff is polite and helpful. We're planning on going back again!

Samsara Resorte - Negril

Worst time ever! The grounds are deplorable, dangerous. The staff is unfriendly. I felt unsafe the entire trip. NO safe in room - I had to carry all of my belongings the entire trip. Filthy, dirty. Food is mediocre at best. Constant offering of drugs. Watered down "all inclusive" alcohol. Terrible trip. Do NOT recommend.

Samsara Cliff Resort

Biggest disappointment with Cheap Caribbean so far. Buyer beware!! The facility is dirty and run down. The food, at the only eating establishment on site, was terrible. We were disappointed from the minute we arrived until we left. Upon arrival....our room was not ready. We waited almost 2 hours for our room while other couples checked in after us simply breezed righted through the check-in process. Upon asking....the only response we got was a 'canned' response...."It will be ready soon." Personally, we feel as if we were discriminated against simply because we were two men staying in the same room. They automatically assumed we needed a roll-away bed, which is why the wait was so long. We really don't need anyone to assume anything for us. We're good on that front. The grounds needed major attention as most of the plants looked unkempt, sparse and unattended. The only pool on the property was filthy and in our week there, we never noticed anyone cleaning the pool area. The loungers were in need of replacing, as several were broken or did not function. They were rusty and the cushions were VERY dirty as well. The only bright moment was the sunsets and sunrises. At no time while we were there, did any of the staff have conversations with us as they did other guests. And while, at check in, you get a business card about the eatery across, when you call the front desk, they don't have a menu for you to look at to order from. As for the resort, Cheap Caribbean states they have a 'business center' which would, one might think, include a computer to print off boarding passes. But when I inquired at the front desk, they do not have a computer that the public can use and recommended we get to the airport early to print them off there. Simply put, the food was bad, service was almost non-existent and the facility itself deserves a 2/10 stars. We would not recommend and can promise we won't be back.

What's to Love

The laid-back island vibe where bumming on the beach is encouraged.

The clifftop views are stunning. You'll for sure want to get some snaps at sunset.

Homemade island comfort food served up at every meal.

Pamper yourself at the spa - full body massages, couples massages, facelift massage, reflexology and therapeutic.

What We'd Change

Getting to the ocean requires going down a series of ladders and steps, but the beautiful setting makes it worth the effort.

Why You Should Go

The commute from the airport is about 90 minutes, but Negril is one of the prettiest destinations in Jamaica.

Splurge on dining at Ciao Jamaica, located across the street. Famous for its Italian food and the views.

Take advantage of napping on the sundecks built into the cliffs or in one of the hammocks at the resort.

Water sports rule here - snorkeling, cliff jumping. You might as well enjoy it all.
