  Honest Review of Royalton Bavaro, Punta Cana

  We had a great stay at Royalton Bavaro and overall found it to be a well-maintained, welcoming resort. The property is very clean. While you can tell it has some normal wear and tear from hosting so many families day in and day out, it’s also very clear that the resort is genuinely cared for. Every single day we saw staff painting walls, patching areas, and fixing things that naturally get worn with heavy use. The staff is incredibly friendly—or at the very least, they genuinely try to be. What stood out most was how gracious they remained even when some other guests were quite rude to them. They take it in stride and are expected to be cheerful for the very next guest, which says a lot about their professionalism. Things definitely run on “island time,” so patience is helpful, but that’s part of the experience. We opted for Diamond Club and highly recommend it. Pedro, our butler, was excellent and made our stay even better. The only real negative was the Travel Club sales presence. They sit in the lobby areas, so you have to walk past them every day. Even after clearly saying no, different people continue to approach you, which became frustrating and uncomfortable. Overall, Royalton Bavaro is a clean, well-cared-for resort with hardworking staff and a great Diamond Club experience. If they reduced the aggressive sales tactics, it would significantly improve the guest experience.

  Amazing resort

  Amazing resort, David our butler for Dimond club was absolutely amazing and a blessing, he made our stay easy. the only thing I would change is how many people on the beach or around the resort try to make you buy their items

  Don't stay here! Stay at the Majestic Next Door

  Don't stay here! Stay at the Majestic. They will not return phone calls or emails. My family and I stayed at the Royalton Bavaro resort last week. We checked in on Sunday 11/23/25 and were supposed to check out on Thursday 11/27/25. While we were there, my daughter and son both got extremely ill after eating at the Score sports bar. We contacted Expedia to come home a day early because they were just miserable. During our checkout, the guy helping us was very nice and helpful and I asked him about a refund for the night that we were leaving early and possible compensation for my kids getting sick and they said to contact Expedia and that you guys are really good about doing that. We contacted Expedia and they have tried to reach out to you but no one has gotten back to them so they said they cannot process a refund. Also months before our trip, we went online and paid to pick the room we wanted, but when we got there, they put us in a different room. We paid $118 for room 13306 but were put in room 18418. We told them that we had already picked a room and paid for it and he said this is the one they have you in, which wasn’t even the right building. We've been to Punta Cana several times and this was the first time staying in a Royalton before. My wife sent an email about the room that we paid for, but we’ve never gotten a response. I have sent several emails and Expedia has tried contacting you too but no response. I finally called the resort today and they gave me managers email and said they could help us. They responded they are looking into it and would get back to us. That was 2 months ago and no response. I never write reviews or complain but seriously stay somewhere else!!!!

  Very disappointed wedding week for my daughter

  I booked a and paid for a king size room and got a queen size room. They said that they can change my room at 10am but in order for them to change rooms for us they needed to clean our room for the next guest. Then they told me to come back at 3pm, then they said 5:30. We waisted a whole day because the new people checking in had first priority even though we checked in the day before. I also need to mention that we were there for my daughter's wedding and had 42 people joining us. Check in for everyone took more than 2 hours (ridiculous)! There were countless things wrong with most of the rooms. The staff certainly was not welcoming, not only to our wedding guests but with a lot of the other guests as well. It seemed like they were annoyed. They don't understand the English language very well. Only simple instructions. I have never had a vacation that I couldn't wait to get home from especially only being gone for 7 days. This is a terrible way to run an all inclusive resort. What a shame! All in all if a zero rating was an option, that's what I would have chosen.

  See you again in 2026

  We had an amazing holiday and felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. A special mention to Angela, who was fantastic throughout our stay — always arranging and booking our meals and greeting us with a smile on her face. The hotel is absolutely amazing, the staff are all so kind, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We cannot wait to return in December 2026 for another two wonderful weeks.
