  Overall a great experience. Sone areas of Property is in need of renovation.

  The wait time for a suite with a king bed was kind of long. The snacks in the room were never replenished even after making the request. Our butler Michael was very helpful. He was accessible and made sure our stay was comfortable. He had a great attitude.

  Another great family trip to Royalton Bavaro

  Another fantastic visit to this resort. The hotel is well maintained, the staff are friendly and available, and the food was really good. Upgrading to Diamond Club is worth it for the pool, beach and restaurants. Diamond Club breakfast buffet close to the beach was a highlight. Our butler Freylin was amazing, he made our trip. Very accommodating and accessible, great with the kids, and very knowledgeable. He was patient and friendly, making sure we had what we needed. Thank you again Freylin.

  Don’t bother.

  Dirty bed sheets, fire alarm went off at 4am, harassing staff to the point where relaxation was a myth. Food choices are poor and the staff are incredibly rude.

  Does Marriot really own this place?

  I do not usually leave reviews, but we visited twice (in 2024 and again in 2026), so I feel comfortable speaking to both the positives and the negatives. Good - Excellent resort layout and overall design - Strong room options and configurations - Hard-working, friendly frontline staff - Food is above average Bad - Do not expect Marriott anything ... despite booking through Marriott. - Terrible Management, concierge, and timeshare staff - Good luck with a la carte restaurants - Atrociously slow check-in and check-out processes - Constant upselling on virtually everything My father insisted we book as a platinum elite Marriott member. Never again.

  AVOID AT ALL COST!

  I have tried to stay quient, but cannot hold back any longer. Back in 2019, my partner and I spent a wonderful week at the Royalton Bavaro. I would have honestly told people that the resort was easily a 5 1/2 star with wonderful rooms and fantastic service. As of 2 weeks ago, I wish I could say the same. There has been a tremendous fall from grace for Royalton Bavaro. Upon check in we requested a swim out room (which we booked) close to the beach, in 14, 15, 18 or 19 block. The front desk informed us to wait patiently, and they would do their best. We went back several times. Long story short, we were told to stay in 16114 and at 10:30 the next day we would be moved to 15 block. That night, we decided to shower and enjoy the resort. Leslay showered and to our dismay, NO TOWELS. She tried to use the robes to dry off but both had food on them. The room was filthy and 2 bottles of Coke in the fridge were half finished. Leslay went to Guest Services to complain to very little response. Next day arrived and I awoke with bites all over my body (bed bugs), and, we were informed by front desk they had NO IDEA about the room change. We insisted on a full top to bottom room cleaning. One more night came and went and the bites increased. We once again approached Guest Services asking for ANY compensation, fumigation and acknowledgement to our situation. Everything except the fumigation fell upon deaf ears. Finally on the 8th of January, after many tears, Leslay was able to convince the resort to move us from 16114 to 15103 (2 double beds). This was an improvement. Yet, still NO acknowledgement of the problems we have been through. I have worked at the Hotel Intercontinental Toronto (Now, Royal Sonesta Yorkville) for almost 20 years and cannot imagine treating any valued guest like this. Spend your money else where. We love the Majestic Elegance several resorts away
