  A wonderful vacation!

  Nothing but amazing experience as always! Thanks to Della, senior management , Nigel, head chef and our butler, Danielle. They paid attention to detail when providing excellent service. They truly didn’t disappoint.

  Disappointing , great location , great services promised . Still no room lights and beach bar had no vodka or rum or min

  No rum or vodka at the main beach bar. Air con issues for three days no room lights for three days and three reports , get a grip

  What a great Honeymoon

  Just back from 2 weeks honeymoon staying at the Royalton Antigua near St John’s, the capital. Being part of the Diamond club, we arrived and were greeted by our Butlers Danielle and Shanice, who looked after us during our stay and were first class in all aspects of what we needed, always with a smile and chatting to us asking how our days had been, or what we were doing. Communicating via WhatsApp was a great idea, as the resort is very large and covers a wide area, so it was good for them to know where we were. Shanice in particular set out petals on our bed which was such a lovely touch for us on our honeymoon. She always organised our wine/beers and snacks, which we looked forward to whilst getting ready before dinner. The restaurants were excellent and we tried them all and found we liked the Caribbean the best, with Sharon and Romar welcoming us each time we went there. We breakfasted at Grazie, (which was the Italian restaurant at night time) and had lovely views out to the bay from there and of the beach club. Lisa made the best banana milkshakes and we always had good service from Patagay and Natasha, who also both worked in Nibbles snack bar next door at lunchtimes. Onsite there was a coffee shop which served all the special coffees/teas you could have and also provided cakes/doughnuts/danish pastries plus a good selection of ice creams and we enjoyed helping ourselves to the soft serve ice cream machine! In particular we must mention Orvenia - always a happy smile and willing to help us. Larissa and Amilee were very helpful in guiding us through the tours we wanted to go on and we booked a few through the hotel, but also found Frenchie on the beach was a great help with other tours which we took. Such a friendly guy he was. Kasford at the beach club was very kind and chatty and worked really hard at proving drinks for the guests in the Diamond club area - quite a feat in the high temperatures each day going up to the bar and back down to the beach each time with heavy trays of drinks. I took part (on the days we were on the beach) in the aqua aerobics classes provided each day by the Vibe Team and thoroughly enjoyed them. A lot of thought had gone into the exercises to maximise our groups strengths, with different ages of people too. Cellina in housekeeping on 9th flooring in building 11 was excellent in keeping our room clean and tidy - we thank her for looking after us. We look forward to visiting the resort another time soon.   A good trip

  Diamond Club is defiantly the way to go if you can swing it. Our butlers Shanice and Danielle were fantastic. Shanice was able to solve problems before they became problems! So professional and reassuring. We discovered a serious issue with our room, but, the hotel responded appropriately. Generally, the layout and decor is beautiful. Moisture is +++ in most rooms/areas with your common associated issues. The beach is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever been too. Like a movie and great for swimming. It appeared private as well. Everything is close and within walking distance on the resort. The resort was not overcrowded and felt very safe. It had a nice, relaxing vibe over-all. The food was DELICIOUS. We did get very sick for 12-24hrs on our trip. We did not know this until afterwards, but, they have a medical professional who assesses for food poising on the resort to confirm or rule out any allegations. Would recommend bringing your own gatorade! Lastly, we had the best experience at the beach bar. Jiovanni was one of the hardest working people I have ever met! He took such good care of us. Also Kizzy at the bar made the BEST signature drink ever!

  So So

  So, I will start off saying that the resort was nice and clean. I realize it's a family resort, but I wish it had adult entertainment. The reason we chose this resort over the Royalton CHIC (adults' resort) is due to the horrible, dirty reviews on CHIC. The entertainment at the Royalton was very childish and was only geared to kids. I wish it was a mix of both. Maybe have adult lounges or clubs that adults can enjoy as well. The food is the other issue I had. Thankfully, we were part of the Diamond Club, but that buffet was not it especially if that was your only option. Some friends of ours traveled there and did not have the Diamond Club and there were no reservations available for them at the various restaurants on the resort so that was horrible for them. We did eat with them a few times at the buffet just to spend time with them and it was dreadful. The food is just not seasoned or made with any kind of love. That really goes for the restaurants as well. The restaurants were just nicer to dine at especially being waited on, but the food was less than desirable with no seasoning at all. It's a shame that when we went to Shirley's Heights is where we got to experience some good, seasoned food, but we had to pay for that which sucked because we were staying on an all-inclusive resort where the food was included in what you paid and it was horrible. Our butlers, Rodwin and Shauna-Kay were amazing and always checked in to make sure we were good. I did appreciate that. One other thing that was not pleasing was every time they came to clean our room, they kept taking our towels which was fine, but they would not replace our wash rags. it was really strange to replace everything, but the wash rags. Antigua was beautiful as far as the beached, but it broke my heart to see how people lived. They have this nice resort and yet the locals live so poor. I don't know that I would return to this resort if I ever decided to come back to Antigua because food and entertainment are big factors for me.
