Jan 01, 2026This was a family Christmas trip for 11 people!
This resort is definitely not up to Marriott standards. No one ever answers the phone for assistance whether you are dialing “0” as instructed or dialing the front desks. We were suppose to have 2 of our 4 rooms with two double /queen beds. Did not happen, 1 king with pull outs/no sheets or bedding supplied until housekeeping was tracked down in the hallway. One pull out was severely stained. We had issues in a couple of the rooms that were not addressed or addressed after having to get loud with them. Getting a reservation at the restaurant for 11 was a nightmare. Would’ve take reservations ahead of our visit. Food was okay most of the time but the steak house food was HORRIBLE, should have given it to the dogs roaming the grounds. Housekeeping personnel were nice and did a good job. Most of the waitresses acted like you were hurting them to keep your water filled. Exceptions was a waiter at the Carribean restaurant and the Carribean grill staff. Even the staff on the beach acted like they would rather be somewhere else. When you met staff on the sidewalks and tried to speak, they mostly ignored you. The people cooking at the grill in the buffet sure didn’t want to be working. If Marriott wants this to truly be a Marriott quality resort, I think they need to start with the upper management here and work down. Maybe they need better pay or some other incentives to do a better job. The resort is beautiful and the beach is very pretty. Be glad to talk to anyone at Marriott. Would like to see this successful.

Dec 30, 2025Day 1 - So far I want my money back
Day 1. Bell boys insisted we leave luggage by their desk, and go check in. They'd be delivered straight to our room. They never showed up. We had to call to get our luggage. We'd booked two queen beds, but they'd run out of rooms - so I'm writing this from a king bed I am sharing with my wife and two kids (cot is unusable). Saw our first cockroach roaming the wall of the sports pub. Oh, and logging into the app isn't working. It's the only way to book dinner reservations. Not to worry, the front desk tells me, as most restaurants are booked anyways. But I can pop by tomorrow between the hours of 10-3pm, to see what can be done.

royalton was awesome
royalton hotel has been a blast love the staff here shout out to the gym crew jameel and shannon ..they have made my stay really fun ..the classes boot camp and core max were killer! definitely give it a go

Splurge on the bungalow!!!
The butler service was a luxury well worth the money. There was zero stress in our couples get away. It eliminated all decision making from the exhausted mom in me! I only had to decide what time to arrive at dinner. The 7 course dining experience was incredible and so relaxing. It is a long experience and for a busy mom, I did struggle to relax and enjoy. The food was outstanding though. The bungalows over the water are worth the hype! For a quick get away for us, it was nice to be set away from all the hustle and bustle. The golf carts were a great extra if we needed a ride to a restaurant or back to the room. The security was too notch. The cost of the bungalow was worth it. There are many extra perks like a cabana at the pool one day, mixology classes in the bungalow and the extra level of care is worth every penny. The beach was beautiful ! It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and can’t wait to go back. Only negative was the immigration process was very long due to several planes landing at one time and only families with kids were getting pulled to the fast pass line. Will be exploring this option when we return. Everyone should be afforded to use the fast pass lane if available due to not being busy. None of us wanted to stand in line for 90 minutes. Kids or no kids.
