Absolutely Beautiful

This was an absolutely beautiful hotel. There were so many choices that I could not pick. After a lot of back and forth, I went with this hotel because it was reasonably prices, was located on the beach and had free bikes. I made the right choice. The room was on the ground floor, spacious and full of light which could be completely darkened. It had nice air conditioning and a ceiling fan. There is a refrigerator and microwave. No stove or oven but I do not like cooking on vacation. The bathroom was large with a senior safe tub with good water pressure. The hotel participates environment friendly practices, very important to me. There is a long walk to a wonderful grocery store that has everything one could need. Save on meals and get a few there! Food is wonderful and the grounds are amazingly manicured. You feel like you are really in paradise with gorgeous palm trees and plants. They are arranged for maximum privacy. There is a quiet pool that is indeed very quiet and another pool near the restaurant and bar. Both are fantastic. Easy two minute walk to beach that is as gorgeous as all of the hype. I've been to many, many beaches and the color of the water and the long sweeping white sand is a sight to behold. I traveled alone for a break from the city but this spot is made for couples and families. I went during the slow season in August and practically had the amazing beach to myself. Plenty of nightlife but most is a taxi ride away from $10-$40. I preferred to stay in the resort but did dance and have drinks one night. Gansevort has a nice bar and Coco Van is a must. Great food with wonderful outdoor evening atmosphere. I took the snorkeling half day trip. Unfortunately, it rained and was cloudy so I was not impressed at all by the reef or the fish. I've been to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and had a similar experience on a grey day. However, I also visited the Fire Reef in Belize and that would be a hard act to follow. Absolutely the best snorkeling I have ever had. Maybe Turks was a bad day but I was not impressed. If I were them, I'd find a better spot. If you want to party with friends, the half day which includes drinks and lunch will be a blast. For the seasoned snorkeler, get a private tour for $350-$750. I know expensive. The staff is amazing. Hazel in charge of the grounds really takes pride in what she does and it shows. Derrick is perfectly charming at the restaurant and Beautiful at the front desk was extremely helpful. Everyone makes you feel welcomed and are there to make your trip special. I will definitely be back but next time with friends. Simply an amazing experience.

Second stay at this resort

I've stayed here twice and would definitely stay again. Very clean in and out of the room, property is beautiful and well maintained. They have a one bedroom option and a studio option, the one bedroom has a full kitchen and the studio has a kitchenette. I've stayed in both and would recommend the one bedroom, but the studio is fine too. There is only one restaurant on the property but there are several nearby. The beach is gorgeous and they seem to have plenty of chairs and umbrellas for everyone. I did have to change rooms after the first night because the original room had a Tempur-pedic mattress which I don't care for but they quickly found me a room with a nice firm regular mattress. Take cheap floats with you because the water is so calm and relaxing it's nice to lay on the float.

Spectacular vacation

The wife and I just returned from a week vacation at the Royal West Indies Resort. The resort is beautiful and well taken care of, much greenery around the resort with the swimming pools, and hot tub always clean. We were surprised how nice the rooms are, we had a suite on the second floor bldg. 6 facing the pool. Had a microwave, fridge, and a washer and dryer. The washer and dryer was a huge ammenity, was nice to wash your cloths while on vacation and dry your bathing suits. The shower was always hot and strong pressure, the bed was a little soft for me, but I slept like a rock. There is only one restaurant on the resort, we ate there twice and for our taste it was ok, we always walked down town about 15 minutes and had our dinners there. To save money shop at the grocery store for your booze and snacks, that will save you a bunch of money. I can't say enough about the beach, first of all the resort gives you free chairs and umbrellas, and all the boating gear to use at no cost. The beach is kept clean and taken care of, we have been to many Islands, and I would say this is definitely #1 in my book. The water is so clear and calm with white powdery sand, just amazing. Now I know why it is usually rated the number one beach in the world. It's a must see beach. The entire area around the resorts and town were not crowded at all since it is the off season. Thanks to Cheap Carbbean for a great vacation. I would definitely recommend this Resort, and we will most likely return in the future with more family members.

Hotel Description

Royal West Indies Resort: Paradise Abound

For your Caribbean home away from home, check into the Royal West Indies Resort in the Turks and Caicos, complimentary welcome drink in hand. Sitting on what many call the best beach in the world, Grace Bay Beach, this delightful resort features condo-style accommodations with family-friendly hotel amenities.

Chill out at 1 of 2 free-form pools, reminiscent of a hidden tropical swimming hole, surrounded by thick foliage and shrubbery. For more relaxation, claim your spot in the spa tub in the adult pool. Or, stroll on down to Grace Bay Beach where 12 miles of soft, white sand overlooking serene waters offers the perfect afternoon of sun and surf. Your inner child will thank you if you throw off adult decorum for a while and go all out in the ocean with the complimentary Hobie Cats, kayaks or snorkeling gear.

When you are wonderfully exhausted head over to Pelican Bay Restaurant and let a delicious bowl of conch chowder revive you. This unique restaurant features both air-conditioned seating and an open-air terrace where the smell of grilled fish gently wafts on the ocean breeze. Evenings bring live music and special events for a bit of festivity.

For the ultimate vacation pampering, we recommend a treatment or 2 at Spa Tropique. The full-service spa is available for a wide range of indulgences, including the popular Strawberrilicious Hydro Boost Mask. Perhaps the best indulgence at the Royal West Indies Resort, though, is the opportunity to do nothing but sit on your private balcony, drinking coffee and watching the colors of the sun dance across the still waters. Along with those private spaces, all guest rooms at the resort have mini kitchens, washers and dryers and flat-screen TVs.

Because it sits right in the middle of Grace Bay, the resort is a great base for exploring the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands. Let the friendly staff help you book a snorkeling or fishing trip. Or, if you want an underworld adventure without the water, spend a day exploring the Middle Caicos Caves, where Mother Nature has used limestone to create incredible, natural beauty.

This hotel is NOT all-inclusive. All food and drinks must be purchased separately.
Unless otherwise specified, all services are available for an additional charge.
