Good Quick Vacation

This was a good quick getaway. We were there for 4 nights. The service was good- service at the restaurants was excellent, friendly and attentive. Service at the adults only pool was spotty. Always friendly but sometimes it took a long time between rounds. Drinks were ok. Beer selection was limited to Modelo and Corona. Mixed drinks were good. The grounds were nice, outdoor areas were well maintained, the pools were clean, chair space was more than adequate. Dining options were spotty. The buffet choices were average, nothing bad but nothing truly outstanding. The evening dining options were fantastic however. The reservation restaurants were terrific. Pancho's was my favorite (the grouper was amazing as was the flat iron steak), but Marco Polo's was very good as well. The hotel interior was nice. The lobby area was nice and provided a good amount of room to sit. Service at the lobby bar (the only one open later in the evening night) was the worst of any of the bars- but the drinks were the strongest. Our room was very spacious, a king bed and a pull down trundle queen bed was a nice way to save space. The room was cleaned well and the fridge was restocked daily. I upgraded to the ocean view room, which overlooked the pool and grounds, but provided a very good view of the ocean when the chairs were at an angle. Suggestions for the resort to improve: 1. Hammocks on the balcony. The ocean view would have been much better had we been enjoying it on a hammock. 2. Quieter carts/path by the adults pool. The majority of the food/equipment was moved on carts on the walk way by the adults pool (quieter, calmer pool) but were extremely noisy. The rattling was intense, and at times incessant. A different path type, route, or cart type should be used to minimize that. 3. Better selection of beer. I am not a fan of Modelo, and the Corona was fine- but a broader selection would be a good addition. Recommendation for future guests: 1. Upgrade to the ocean view room. Some garden view rooms would be overlooking the street or looking at the neighboring resorts. The upgrade was ~$100 well spent. 2. Make your reservations for the "nicer" dining options at 9 am every day. The menu rotates and they were definitely worth putting on a pair of pants for! 3. Take the bus ($1 per person each way) to the Artisan Market- about a $10 bus ride. Cheaper options for souvenirs. This was a fun little excursion that only took us about an hour and a half.

Excellent all-inclusive resort. Great value!

Our family of 4 (kids aged 7 and 3) had a great time at this hotel. The hotel is extremely well maintained and offers nice amenities: safe in the room, spa, free WiFi, kids club, just to name my favorite ones. It's an all-inclusive resort with decent-quality food and drinks, including all sorts of alcoholic drinks as well. We got a personal concierge throughout our entire stay there, who helped us with everything you can imagine, from tips to enjoy our stay to booking dinner reservations and activities. If you ever visit, look for HELIO SPINELLI, that's the guy. Helio even texted us on his day off to check how things were going. Amazing... he went above and beyond! We booked our trip through a travel website and got a great deal, so I consider we got a great value for our money.

What a fun family trip

Our 3 and 5 year olds had such a fun time in the kiddie pools on the slides. Food was a plenty and there was also lots of great fun to be had on the beach as well. A great week of relaxation.

Not worth the money

Cabo is a fantastic place and I will definitely visit there again in the future. However, I will not be staying at the Royal Solaris. The only thing that I liked about the Royal Solaris was some of the staff members. The rooms were worst than a Days-Inn or La Quinta. Right off the bat, we were given the wrong room. We paid extra for two rooms with ocean view. We were given rooms that face the pool and would have to lean over the balcony railing to our left to see the ocean. Though we were transferred to an ocean view room after complaining, this one did not have a Kingsize Bed as requested months before. They attempted to make it better by pushing the two full-size beds together which made the crease in the center that much more uncomfortable. The rooms, like the resort, is old, antiquated and in much need of a facelift. The food was awful. The buffet was extremely limited. You cannot get ice-cream for dessert after dinner unless you have it delivered to your room (which will cost you an additional $5.00). I expected much more for the amount of money we paid.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive family fiesta on the beach with everything you want - and more.

The kids club with buckets of activities and the Noah's Ark waterpark for splishy-splashyness.

Descending into blissdom during a stress-smashing massage at the spa.

The relaxing pool for the adults where doing absolutely nothing is the main activity.

What We'd Change

The beach at Royal Solaris Cabo isn't swimmable, but it's a beautiful and romantic setting for a walk. And the whirlpools are a great place to just relax.

Why You Should Go

The airport is just 15 minutes from the airport. You'll have a cocktail before you can say "beach."

Don't miss horseback riding and whale watching between December and April. Bucket Listers, for sure.

Taking a boat ride out to get a gander of El Arco is a must-do. (No, really, it is.)

Bring your own thermal cup to the pool - they'll fill it. Bottoms up, beach lovers.
