Not Bad But,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Not bad for the money. Pool area and beach (with poolside bar and eateries) were the best feature of this hotel. After our last trip, this probably wasn't a fair comparison. However, the children's area is VERY good and provide lots of activities as well as it's own pool with slides and other features. Wasn't impressed by the variety (ethnic) of foods at the buffet, which serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. The other restaurants are a little better. Would return to Cancun but probably not there.

Good value resort on the Hotel Zone

This review is not typical. Our stay at this resort was brief, limited to evenings as most days were spent on excursions outside Cancun. This being said we did not use the pools nor had time for the beach. Overall, it was good value. The buffet at dinner had a good variety so you had a lot of options. Lots of desert to choose from. The ala carte dining where reservations are required was extra good, servers were professional and nice. Our room was on the lagoon side, second floor overlooking hot tubs on the first floor. It was super noisy late at night. A group of ladies using the tub (10 pm-2am) we’re talking, laughing the whole time like they were the only people in the resort, totally oblivious of time. We called the front desk to complain; we knew there was no way we could move to another room that night: we just have to give up on sleep (and we had a pick up time of 7am the next day). We asked to be moved to a higher floor for the next night so the noise would not reach us. Reception came through (thank you Julio!). We got moved to the 8th floor ocean side! This changed our minds from not coming back to this resort, to come back and bring family and friends.

READ BEFORE VISITING ROYAL SOLARIS

We thoroughly researched the “top 10” all inclusive resorts, and Royal Solaris was one of them. First off, when we booked our room, we asked for a quiet room which they paid no attention to. They gave us a conjoined room with a baby that would wake up 2 to 3 times a night screaming. When we got here around 8:30 pm, we were starving and the only food choice was the buffet, which was completely disgusting. We are not picky eaters, but everything there was poorly made. When we returned to our room, we tried ordering room service, which took around 45 min for a hand size pizza that tasted like cardboard. During the day, the pool and beach are usually the main attractions. But all day there were employees screaming into microphones like it was Cabo during spring break. It was very hard to get away from the noise and enjoy the short 4 days we had here. There was one bar accessible inside the hotel with no ambiance and no view of anything. The drink cups were cafeteria like and the drinks themselves were terribly made. Also we booked a jet ski excursion, and ended up having to pay for the taxi there and walk about 2 miles down the beach to reach the destination where we were 20 minutes late. Overall, I would NOT ever recommend this hotel to anyone.

On the flight to Cancun, frontier made an emergency landing for a funny smell in New Orleans. That cost us an 8 hr delay and a day of food, drink and sun that had been paid for! We arrived at midnight to the hotel. The front desk gave us an upgraded room. Well, that was not an upgrad! The elevator and halls had no air, food and drinks littered the hallway. Gross! The next morning we went to breakfast and still had plates littering the hall. We decided to request a different room at our original hotel. That took part of our day to get straightened out. Clerk was very nice and understood our concern. Once in our new room we hit the beach and pool. That was fabulous!!! We did some activities and that was fun too. Food at the hotel was ok, nothing really exciting. On our flight home we had another delay! Overall trip was good but, I will NOT be flying frontier again.

What's to Love

The breathtaking sands and turquoise waters are some of the prettiest we ever seen. Bonus: the tranquil waves that whisper your name for an afternoon swim.

Made-to-order, scrumptious brick oven pizzas served by the pool (lunch with a killer view always wins.)

Check out the theatre - a smorgasboard of shows, including comedy, Broadyway, Mayan and more. It's different each night!

Tons of super fun activities for the young ones - each day is a different theme - Tuesdays are Pirate Days (Aye, Matey!)

Full-service stress-ousting spa where you are fussed over and pampered.

What We'd Change

The resort is busy, active and you might see lots of fun families - keep this in mind if you're looking for lots of peace and quiet.

Why You Should Go

In the heart of Cancun's Hotel Zone - once you land, you'll be soaking in the sweet sun beachside in no time.

Swoon-worthy views of the Caribbean Sea from almost every spot at the resort.

For those that want to kick it up a notch and party in Cancun, a one-way shuttle will take you into town. (Your secrets are safe with us).

The two-level pool is full of nooks and crannies to explore so you can find the best spot to spend your day.

A mini-water park is a major hit with your little angels (and a hit with you - they will be happily worn out.)
