I felt like they weren’t considerate of my family and I when we thought we were getting two rooms connected. They gave us separate rooms and expected us to be ok with that. After two nights the issue was solved but we got nothing for the inconvenience of having to pack up and move again .

My stay at the Royal Solaris was straight out of a movie. Our Oceanview room was much larger than we anticipated and provided picture perfect views. I must say, I have never met friendlier people than the staff here. Bartenders, waiters, entertainers - they're all class acts. I read a lot of poor reviews about the food here, but truthfully I loved it. Unfortunately we were only allowed to go to one restaurant because I did not pack pants. PACK PANTS! If you do not have pants, you can not enter the 'higher end' restaurants that require reservations. Although we had this limitation, I did not feel like I missed out. The breakfast makes you want to wake up as early as possible. The lunch is delicious. And the dinner is hit or miss depending on your taste. They have themed nights. It's nice because it switches it up, but truthfully I would have preferred Mexican food every night because we were in Mexico. But that's just me! In addition to the reasturants there are a ton of snack options that are AMAZING. Burgers, pizza, chips, sushi, you name it - all poolside. I never even had to wait more than a couple minutes to order a drink at any of the bars. The only issue we had was the seaweed on the beach. I can not blame the resort for mothernature though. The pool was beautiful and entertaining enough that it more than made up for all the seaweed. I couldn't recommend this place enough. (It is a family resort though so there won't be many young couples. Personally, that's what I was looking for)

The hotel and rooms were clean and well maintained. The food and drinks were good but only the buttet and one other restaurant were available for food options. The hotel did an excellent event for the 4th of July. The entertainment and kids club staff were wonderful (shout out to Sara, Cecelia, Mariel, Dafne, and Sofia). The food service staff (Margarita, Ameris, Sol, Garcia, Eduardo, Prince, and Carlos) were great and very friendly. The beach was great, seaweed is high, but you were able to swim. The hotel could use some improvements and upgrades by the beach and pool, but overall the hotel is a good value and the people that work there really make the place lovely.

Okay for price paid!

Staying at the Royal Solaris was a pleasant experience. Our room was very comfortable and our room view of the Marina came with sunrise and sunset views as well which was a plus. Food was just ok. Nothing special about that. I have to say the elevator was the worse part of the entire hotel in my opinion!!!! The Beach wasn't great to swim, which kept pretty much everyone at the pool area and as a result of that the pool was always crowded.

Okay for price paid! Okay for price paid!

What's to Love

The breathtaking sands and turquoise waters are some of the prettiest we ever seen. Bonus: the tranquil waves that whisper your name for an afternoon swim.

Made-to-order, scrumptious brick oven pizzas served by the pool (lunch with a killer view always wins.)

Check out the theatre - a smorgasboard of shows, including comedy, Broadyway, Mayan and more. It's different each night!

Tons of super fun activities for the young ones - each day is a different theme - Tuesdays are Pirate Days (Aye, Matey!)

Full-service stress-ousting spa where you are fussed over and pampered.

What We'd Change

The resort is busy, active and you might see lots of fun families - keep this in mind if you're looking for lots of peace and quiet.

Why You Should Go

In the heart of Cancun's Hotel Zone - once you land, you'll be soaking in the sweet sun beachside in no time.

Swoon-worthy views of the Caribbean Sea from almost every spot at the resort.

For those that want to kick it up a notch and party in Cancun, a one-way shuttle will take you into town. (Your secrets are safe with us).

The two-level pool is full of nooks and crannies to explore so you can find the best spot to spend your day.

A mini-water park is a major hit with your little angels (and a hit with you - they will be happily worn out.)
