Nov 23, 2025Stayed 6 nights at the Riu Republica!
The wife and I came here for the first time. Overall we were very pleased with this place. The service and staff were amazing. The drinks were great means the wife tipped some people didn’t. The beach was amazing and so was the jerk chicken stand right before the beach. The pools were fun and so were the water slides! This place definitely has a great party atmosphere. We had a great time on our trip. It was the wife’s birthday and staff came out with a cake to make it special!

Nov 23, 2025Extremely disappointing stay never again
My experience at the Riu Republica in Punta Cana was terrible from beginning to end. Our room was full of mosquitoes and ants, and we were getting bitten constantly. There were also geckos in the room. We asked for a room change straight away, but despite repeatedly requesting help, we weren’t moved until 3 AM. Even when we asked for the bedding to be changed, it was never done. The drinks were awful and the food was even worse. Much of it tasted stale, and the pasta looked like it had been dropped on the floor. The chocolate fountain even had dead flies in it, which completely put us off eating there at all. Flies around the food seemed to be a constant issue. We also spoke to another guest who told us she believed she had broken ribs on the water slide. According to her, staff had radioed to the top of the slide to stop anyone else from coming down, but someone was still sent down after the warning, which she felt caused her injury. She told us she was then left waiting the entire day without proper assistance, and the way she said management spoke to her came across as dismissive and belittling. Hearing her experience made us feel even more uneasy about the hotel’s safety and care. On top of everything else, the music from what was supposed to be a quiet room was so loud that we barely slept. When we needed the nurse, she didn’t speak English, so everything had to be translated, adding even more stress. I genuinely hated the whole holiday. This experience has completely put me off returning to the Dominican Republic altogether. I will never be coming back.

Happy Anniversary to Us… and to Rui Republica’s Collapsing Ceilings 🎉
Currently staying at Rui Republica, and honestly, if you’re into room roulette, this is the place for you! Our first room came with a toilet that refused to flush and a socket that was purely decorative. No problem, right? We got moved — surely things could only improve. Except they didn’t. Because in our second room, the bathroom ceiling literally collapsed. And the best part? It happened on our wedding anniversary. Nothing says “romantic getaway” quite like chunks of ceiling falling around you. Naturally, the hotel’s response was pure comedy gold: “You’ll need to wait until 2pm to change rooms.” Because who doesn’t love spending their anniversary surrounded by bathroom debris while waiting for the next lucky draw room? If you enjoy guessing which part of your room will break next — or just love chaos with a side of indifference — Rui Republica is your dream destination. Otherwise, do yourself a favour and book literally anywhere else.

Value and parties that are hard to beat
The food is eidible, the drinks are stiff if you tip. 4 parties a week if you want do them all. Two afternoon parties (that you get bussed to the party zone.) Two night parties that they did at the main stage.

Birthday celebration for my fiance, beautiful resort with so many fun things to do. Staffs were very friendly.
