four times at this resort. good food. good drinks. good pools. good beach. I write mostly to recognize a wonderful lady who works at reception: Omayio (sp?). each time we've stayed, she's helped us find a quiet room at this mostly party resort. she's helped us with other minor issues over the years. I think that she is a manager. if not, Riu would be wise to make her one.

Jan 30, 2026Awful Experience
The worst hotel in Punta Cana, we went in January 2026 and the first room they tried to put us in (426) stunk of damp and wasn’t in a good condition. The hotel told us that no other room available but I refused to stay in there for even a night, I told the reception that if they wouldn’t move me that I would contact my rep. Another room became available for us which was adequate but not up to 4 star standard, it was clean but had cracked porcelain in the bathroom and the wardrobe door didn’t close. The service in the buffet (Mangu) was awful with the staff preferring to talk amongst themselves or look at their phones rather than serving drinks or removing dirty plates. The hotel was informed of this but nothing altered during our stay. The food in the speciality restaurants was cold and some people became ill whilst we were away with upset stomachs. I would never stay at this hotel again and would definitely never advise anyone to stay there, just avoid it as much as possible.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Any staff we dealt with were able to converse effectively in English. There were many chairs available at the pools and at the beach. The food was fantastic. A few of the shows were very good, but a couple of them were uninspired.

Don’t believe the negative reviews, great value for money, go enjoy paradise!
Great overall stay, this was my 5th time in punta Cana and probably my favourite resort yet -the grounds are beautiful -the overall layout of the resort is great -The swim up bars are extremely clean and the proximity to the beach ideal -overall the food is at par with any 4-5 star resort I’ve stayed at, there’s tons of solid options at the buffets - the jerk chicken at the beach is 10/10 best chicken I’ve ever had down south - the beach is the best one ive been on at any resort in the DR Tons of shade, tons of chairs overall stunning - rooms are average but very clean and comfortable, beds are great AC worked Don’t be fooled by these other reviews calling this resort a nightmare, clearly those ppl forget they are In the Dominican Republic and not Las Vegas. For the price point of this resort it exceeded my expectations, if you want true Luxury pay for it and go elsewhere otherwise enjoy paradise at a reasonable price Service was great at all buffets and bars no issues at all. Overall this resort stay was a 10/10 for the PRICE

Excellent trip!
This was a great trip! I came to celebrate my birthday and the staff was amazing! 10/10 experience and I will be back!
