If you want to be woken up at 7am every morning by the staff screeching outside your room or cutting the grass then this is the place for you. The majority of the entertainment staff don’t speak any language other than Spanish (or claim not to as we found out) so it is very disengaging. It is billed as a 5 star resort, but is a 3 star at best. The food is mediocre, entertainment not great unless you’re a 19 year old looking to party, facilities in room are shoddy and falling to bits. The bar staff to the left of the resort are excellent though by far the best part of the hotel. Don’t waste your money coming here!!

Dont go this hotel
Terrible experience. They didn't have enough towels. Two days with cold water because there was no hot water in the hotel. Bad room phone. Sometimes they didn't clean the room until 4:00 p.m. In some places, the food was disgusting, with no care or hygiene.

Service in reception leaves a lot to be desired. The staff need to concentrate on the customer not start lengthy conversations with work colleague's whilst ignoring the customer. I reported a health and safety issue which had still not been resolved when we left. i also requested a blanket which was ignored twice. The Steak house was lovely and the staff were too. The main restaurant was lovely with plenty of choice. Lunch times were great as i used the beach side jerk chicken hut . Beautiful. Bar staff were very polite and efficient. Unfortunately we did get bitten by mosquitoes on our first evening. Rooms were kept clean every day. Hall ways and stairs mopped every day. The whole complex was continually being cleaned. Great value for money. Day time entertainment is rather loud and energetic but is aimed at younger adults.

Over all the hotel was great food was ok. Service at bar next to steak house was the best waitress did not miss a beat I think her name is yalibal not sure if spelled right. Everyone was helpful with the price to party

2025 October Fun - Hotel Riu Republica
This hotel exceeds most of the expectations I had after reading the majority of the reviews. The check in was painless. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food choices are plentiful and tasty. There are so many different pools, bars, and activities to enjoy. The beach is clean with plenty of shade and lounge chairs to relax and enjoy the sun and surf. If you have a bad time here, it's your own fault. Any issues I had with my room were resolved within hours.
