Best location on the beach

Nice calm beach, recent upgrades are a plus improvement. New showers and not the high tubs any more. Staff was excellent, most of them remembered us from last year. Food selection was great. Show at night were good. Rooms nice and fresh. Wifi good except in beach area.

Amazing Vacation Ever!

We just returned from a 10 day trip to Riu Palace Tropical Bay and it was perfection. We were in Jamaica 6 months ago and stayed in Montego Bay and Negril is 10000 times better. First off: if you are a beach lover like me, this resort has the best beach I have EVER seen in my life. The staff here are absolutely amazing. The entertainment staff: thunder was awesome. Thank you so much to: Mario and Twain in dinning who took excellent care of us. The nightly entertainment was amazing every single night. The pools have entertainment during the day and it was so much fun. The food was fantastic and plenty of it. The resort is beautiful and close to all the pools, beach and buffet. You must do a few excursions: the cove to swim with the dolphins and the catamaran trip to Ricks cafe & Margaritaville. It’s a huge party boat and a super blast the only thing I did not like was the water bottle rule. The only stock your fridge in your room with water bottles at certain times and they you can’t get anymore. I had to ask Miquel the GM to give us extra waters and they did. We were only suppose to stay 8 nights and I booked 2 extra nights from the resort and it was was too expensive. They should have given us a better rate, because we did stay long and we had to pay a lot to change our flights. I loved Lisa in the lobby bar; she is awesome. I travel every few months and I cannot wait to go back soon!!

Amazing Vacation Ever!

great value

have stayed in Negril 7 other times and the new remodeled Riu esxceded expectations. Dining optons were great and the jerk chicken stand was a dailey go to. Rooms were modern, clean and everything worked. Staff in general was wonderful, although at thimes the bartenders were a little aloof. Oveall an A+, we were there at the end of March so not many children which was a plus.

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

The stunning beach with ivory, soft sands hugged by the bluest of tranquil, dreamy water.

Melting at the luscious spa, where the massages and facials transport you to Nirvana.

The outrageously delish, lip-smackin' Jamaican BBQ you can nosh on while chillaxing by the ocean.

The Victorian-style buildings bathed in happy, soft pink, which cause instant happiness.

The liquor dispenser in your room. Your hour of happy can start any time of day.

24-hour room service - if you've got a hankering for grub at 3:15 a.m., you can get it. For realz.

The bonfire and DJ on the beach - you'll feel like you're in a movie.

What We'd Change

The airport is a little over an hour from the resort, but once you get there you'll never want to leave.

Why You Should Go

You can hang out at the sister resort, which includes free access & drinks at the disco, Pacha. Woot!

There are oceans of activities for the kiddos, and even a children's playground where you can have some sandy fun.

Must-dos: Rhodes Hall Plantation for horseback riding & Roaring River for swimming in a fresh water sinkhole.

Don't miss bodyboarding, sail boats, snorkeling and/or for a fee scuba and jet skiing. Dive in.

On land, there's water polo and volleyball in the pool for your splish-splashing pleasure.

On the way home, plant yourself in Club MoBay at the airport for grub and A/C. It's so worth it.
