Honeymoon 11/4-11-9

This place is beautiful! The staff is so friendly and the rooms are so comfortable and clean. The entertainment staff was great! We went there for our honeymoon and were thinking of going back for our first anniversary. I would absolutely recommend it! The drive from the airport is a little longer than other resort areas but it’s worth it. The jerk chicken hut on the beach was awesome!

Beautiful Place!

This was our 4th time visiting Jamaica where we previously stayed at the same resort for the first 3 times. I am SO glad we took a chance on the Riu Palace!!!! It is worth every penny spent. It is immaculate with the cleanliness, amazingly nice staff and stellar food! Smaller pools but never felt too crowded. The beach is beautiful and the staff even caters to you there. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Nice vacay

Just returned from here and had a wonderful time. The first room I had I asked to change because it was in the back of the property and it smelled a little funny and Chanile accommodated me beautifully. My new room was closer to the beach and front desk which made me feel more comfortable. The only negative thing I can say about this resort is the food. I did not have an opportunity to eat dinner at any of the restaurants because they became full very quickly. I had no other option besides the buffet which was pretty awful in my opinion. The breakfast was decent but overall the food was generally not seasoned and cold in most cases. I would recommend the restaurants take reservations vs being a first come first served situation.

My experience

It was our first time in Negril and we really enjoyed our stay here. The resort was well maintained and very clean. The beach and ocean was one of the best we've been too besides getting hassled all day by the locals which made it hard to really relax. The food was excellent here! We only ate at the Italian and Japenese restaurants. Service was so slow that we sat for 2hrs on a slow night. However, enjoyed the jerk chicken stand and buffet so much we didnt even bother with the restaurants after first two trys. See Demar the bartender by the pool for all your drinks. Demar was always smiling, very friendly, and goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is nothing less than great. All in all we had a great experience here but we did witness something very disturbing. The buffet was directly in front of our room. Around 11:00 PM after the buffet had closed we were sitting out on our balcony enjoying a drink and conversation when we saw a man and woman who worked in the buffet area come out of the side door to I'm guessing was the kitchen or dining area. The man started hitting the girl several times before realizing we were there. The man stormed off and went back in the buffet from the front entrance of the buffet and the woman followed shortly behind. I notified security shortly after the incident as he walking by our balcony. I gave him a description and even pointed at them as we could see them working closing down. He seemed like he was gonna handle the situation but walks in the buffet area and does nothing. Not sure if this is normal here or in Jamacia but it was very disturbing and not acceptable! Besides this one incident our stay was wonderful!

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

The stunning beach with ivory, soft sands hugged by the bluest of tranquil, dreamy water.

Melting at the luscious spa, where the massages and facials transport you to Nirvana.

The outrageously delish, lip-smackin' Jamaican BBQ you can nosh on while chillaxing by the ocean.

The Victorian-style buildings bathed in happy, soft pink, which cause instant happiness.

The liquor dispenser in your room. Your hour of happy can start any time of day.

24-hour room service - if you've got a hankering for grub at 3:15 a.m., you can get it. For realz.

The bonfire and DJ on the beach - you'll feel like you're in a movie.

What We'd Change

The airport is a little over an hour from the resort, but once you get there you'll never want to leave.

Why You Should Go

You can hang out at the sister resort, which includes free access & drinks at the disco, Pacha. Woot!

There are oceans of activities for the kiddos, and even a children's playground where you can have some sandy fun.

Must-dos: Rhodes Hall Plantation for horseback riding & Roaring River for swimming in a fresh water sinkhole.

Don't miss bodyboarding, sail boats, snorkeling and/or for a fee scuba and jet skiing. Dive in.

On land, there's water polo and volleyball in the pool for your splish-splashing pleasure.

On the way home, plant yourself in Club MoBay at the airport for grub and A/C. It's so worth it.
