First Island Experience

This was a surprise birthday trip for my boyfriends 30th birthday accompanied by his 2 best friends. The beach is amazing! The water was crystal clear, warm like a bath where you could lay in it all day. We did spend the first day in the infinity pool which was gorgeous and so fun having a swim up bar. The view is breathtaking but I couldn't leave the ocean once I got in. I would pay for the upgraded ocean view as we had a view off to the side and it was not pleasant to look out as it was over top of an industrial roof. I included a picture of our friends view from the top floor... its worth the money. The breakfast is just okay. Not great not horrible. same for the lunch. The dinners were absolutely incredible, Krystal and the Japanese restaurant were to die for! The coffee is not good from the coffee bar but very good from the breakfast buffet. Definitely make your way to Atlantis as it is cool to see and also the club there is so much fun for dancing. The service was great, the room service and cleaning service was amazing! They even rearranged our shoes and such so it was spotless! The people that come to this resort are very nice and fun to hang out with.

Great birthday get away.

The trip was a great trip and a good value for the money for all of us to get together for my birthday celebration. My only regret is that our flight to Nassau got changed several times from the point of booking to the time of our departure and the time change forced us to arrive late in the day and that was not the itinerary I booked and paid for originally. Lost a day.

Great trip

We really enjoyed the Riu! We went with a group of six. Although not as large as other resorts, the food was wonderful and the beach was gorgeous. Just worth being aware of is that restaurants did not take reservations. That wasn’t an issue for our group as we didn’t mind eating later (8:30), but I could see it being an issue if you preferred to eat earlier. Only downside was the lack of water activities available.

Not bad

The hotel was very nice and clean. The rooms are a bit small and the blankets are kinda cheap. The excursions are all very cool if your into that. People are friendly and food is OK. The issue I had was them overbooking all three restaurants and making you stand in line and then not get a table, we only got food in the one buffet.

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

Primo beachfront locale - three miles of satiny sand hugged by luscious, aquamarine water.

The Renova Spa - the massages squeeze the stress right out of your bod.

The rockin' theme nights twice a week - get ready to kick it. Put on your party pants.

Krystal Fusion Restaurant - it's a journey into the unexplored terrain of epic new sensations.

The unfailing, beachtastic service & attention. You'll feel like the beach royalty that you are.

Did we mention this resort has the only infinity pool in all of Nassau/Paradise Island?

What We'd Change

You may not find as many on-site activities like the other mega resorts, but the prime beachfront property makes up for it.

Why You Should Go

There's a hoppin', Vegas-style casino next door - grab sweet Lady Luck and try your hand.

The water sports (jet skis, water skiing & more) will blow you out of the water. Hang on!

You can dive into aahh-mazing excursions like swimming with the dolphins.

Atlantis next door has a great nightclub when you want to get your dance on.

The inventive entertainment staff is off-the-charts creative. They won't disappoint.

You're close to downtown Nassau - see the old quarter, museums, zoo and botanical gardens.

Bahama Mama Mia does this Riu have it all. And then some. Let's start with the dreamy, three-mile stretch of silky sand, where you can chillax, get your drink on (and on - no one's counting) and ignore the world, or hit a game of beach volleyball and burn some calories. And that's just the tip of the beachberg. Toggle between the Jacuzzi at the epic infinity pool and indulge in stress-ousting treatments at the lush spa aka Relaxation Central, or hit the slots next door and hang at the always-festive, hip bars until the sea cows come home. Is that a "yes" we hear? When might we expect you?
