RIU Palace Hits Big Again!

My wife and I got engaged on the beach of the Riu Palace in Cancun a decade ago. Our stay at that hotel was unbelievable! When we were looking for options for our anniversary we were looking for a place that was just as unbelievable. So why not go to the same resort at a different location. Once we knew we were going to Jamaica our choice was easy. We were going to stay at in Riu Palace again. From the second that you walk into Montego Bay Riu Palace, it's very easy to see that you chose the right place! The decor, the professional uniforms, The Smiling Faces and the unbelievable view of the ocean Through the Windows of the lobby tell you the whole story. You are about to have an amazing stay for as long as you are here. Another great thing about this particular location is that you are in the center of three Riu resorts. You have access to all of these Resorts and the entertainment that's in them each night. Which, by the way, is very good entertainment! We saw a Michael Jackson show where the Michael Jackson impersonator was so good that it felt like you were actually watching Michael Jackson. I've seen Michael Jackson one in Las Vegas and that impersonator was just as good if not better! Everything there is easily accessible and you have an abundance of options for food, beaches, pools and the type of entertainment you're looking for. One hotel might have a bubble party in their pool while the other hotel is working out with an instructor in the pool. The rooms were also very nice and very well kept. The staff really has an attention to detail with their cleaning. You will be lucky to find any spots anywhere in your room. Speaking of staff, what a fun bunch of people! It was hard to leave the pool because there was so much fun going on. You can challenge some of the staff to ping pong, bag toss, Horseshoes and many other games. There is non-stop entertainment going on around most of the pools. However, if you want to chill there are pools for that too. I'll be excited to stay at another Riu Palace or even come back to this very location again. With as much as my wife and I travel, we don't go back to locations ever. So if we do, it would be a first. That's how great the stay was!

Amazing Vacation

We purchased a 7 day, 6 night trip to RIU Palace. By staying at the Palace you have access to the two RIUs next door- Montego Bay and Reggae. Both are very nice, didn't try the food at them, but the Palace was perfect for us. We would DEFINITELY come back here. Ages were anywhere from the 20s and up. Never too rowdy (except sometimes at night), adults only resort. Service: The best service I have ever had at any resort. They literally bend over backwards for their guests. If we inquired about something they always followed up calling the room the same day or next day to make sure we were satisfied. We also were celebrating an anniversary that they put a Happy Anniversary sign on our hotel room door. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay that was served at the specialty restaurants and they did not service it at the evening Aqua Bar. Well, the gentlemen that was our cocktail serve ran (literally) to one of the restaurants, and brought a bottle to the bar so I can have. Food: Excellent and so fresh. Buffet always had different options. Really liked the lunch pasta station (always there) and the outside grill doing your Jamaican specialties; jerk chicken, burgers, etc. Breakfast had your omlet station as well as your regular items; pancakes, french toast, yogurt, cereal, fruits, etc. Room service is very limited though, this was our only negative about the food. It only had about 10 items on the list. The Aqua Bar is downstairs by the pool, that is open 24hrs but you need to physically walk down there, but also not a large selection. Ex: if you want french fries or pizza, room service will not bring it, you need to walk downstairs. I feel something simple like this should be included, especially for the price you pay. They were very generous with refilling the mini bar if you requested. We were flying thru Red Stripes that the next time we requested, they had 6 more in there compared to the regular 2. Small dollar bills is strongly recommended. It's not necessary, but it does show them appreciation for their hard work. Daily activities ranged from corn hole, darts, horseshoe, contests (dancing, scavenger hunts, etc) Kyash was the main entertainer and great one! Kept the crowd alive. 'Fun fun' was a good one too as well as the female (I forgot her name). Next door at Montego Bay & Reggae are the nightly entertainment shows - like Michael Jackson, Grease, etc. Palace has more of a DJ / small dance floor activities - still fun! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great vacation. Also a major plus, only 10 minutes from the airport!

Great Escape

This is one of the greatest vacations that I have taken. My family and extended family decided to go to Jamaica for vacation. It was a party of about 50 people. While they all booked through a travel agent, I decided to book through CheapCaribbean. They stayed at the joining resort and I stayed at the Palace. The benefit of staying at the Palace was that I was able to go over to their Resort for no extra fees or cost. The only thing that I could not do was to eat at the premium restaurants on their Resort. From the ease of booking to the exceptional customer service that I received while in Jamaica everything was absolutely wonderful. I will definitely book through cheap Caribbean again and stay at the Palace. While the other Resort had a better visual appearance around the pool abd Ocean view, the rooms at the palace was 10 times better than what the other Resorts offered. My family even noticed it from the pictures that I took and posted on Facebook. The staff that worked to secure your ride to and from the Resort and set up your excursions were very friendly and thorough with ensuring that you had a wonderful experience. They made sure that I was aware of all of the local spots and supported me with accommodations as needed to go to and from those locations. I ate at the buffet daily and did not experience the other restaurants. I was perfectly fine with that and thoroughly enjoyed the wide selection of food. The staff were dedicated to remembering your interest in drinks and made sure they catered to you.

My room The view from my room.

Best Experience Ever

RIU PALACE Jamaica ADULTS ONLY resort was by far the best resort I have ever visited. The room was beautiful and relaxing. The beach and pools were beautiful and relaxing. The service was awesome. The wait staff were professional, prompt and made sure they were available to meet any of your needs. The food was good, just wish there were more American options to choose from, but I enjoyed trying new things. We looked forward to attending the Aqua bar EVERY night because we love to dance and have a great time and so did everyone else. RIU Palace Adults only had plenty of activities to do and was the best of all 3 resorts in my opinion. RIU PALACE allows you to access their 2 sister resorts , so it's like getting 3 resorts for the price of 1. RIU Montego Bay is family friendly resort with lots of entertainment and dance clubs and RIU Reggae seemed like it was catered to older adults, wasn't much to see or do there. Over all if you are looking for a fun, romantic and entertaining vacation RIU PALACE ADULTS ONLY is the resort for you!

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

It's surrounded by fringy palms and overlooks the luscious, soul-stirring aquamarine Mahoe Bay.

The Renova spa next door (@Riu Montego Bay) where you can kick your stress to the sandy curb.

The beach is protected by a reef so the water is calm & delicious for snorkeling and swimming.

The ocean breezes and crazy beautiful sunsets - it's more than Bucket List worthy.

World-class golf is near - soaking in the sun while you play a round is the best. Ever.

What We'd Change

For lunch, you can dine at either Montego Bay or Seaside, but if you're wanting more choices, you'll get to enjoy the restaurants and activities at the sister resort, Riu Montego Bay, which is next door.

Why You Should Go

The airport is just 1.7 miles away. Your rockin', adults-only vacay will begin lickety-split.

You can head over to the sister resort, Riu Montego Bay, for more places to get your grub on.

Saddle up and get ready - horseback riding is near. You have to do this.

Attention water babies: check out the catamarans, kayaking & windsurfing.

You can play a set (or two) of tennis or get in some beach volleyball. Game on.
