Less than 24hrs after check in terrible.
We arrived on Sunday Jan 18th, normally past experiences at other Riu resorts have been ok, not super and poor. However the Riu Antillas, check in process was a total disorganization. We get our seemed fine unpacked and went to Buffet it was OK, get back to our room and noticed nail clippings on the floor, hair and dirt. Front desk sent house keeping to correct. Monday after room made up floors were dirty and not cleaned. All Al carts are first come first served, unless you are Elite. Which is fine from the point that they pay a premium However they shouldn't be able to walk up and bump people that have been in line for an a hour or more. Unfortunately we couldn't get into the Steak house, so we went the Malmok, we were 2nd in the door, service was slow. I ordered the surf and turf, when it finally arrived the steak for cold not not but cold, the two slices of potatoes cold, the only thing Luke warm was the lobster thermador. The burgers at the lunch buffet were raw and not cooked, both mine and my wife. 1st full day and I can guarantee that I will not recommend nor ever go to another Riu

Nice, but wouldn’t go back to this resort
RIU Antillas is a beautiful resort with many amenities. Staff is very helpful and eager to assist, and always ensures that the request has been fulfilled based on their capabilities. There are a few issues I feel hampered our stay. Number one - the bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable; in fact, there was a spring poking up on one side of the bed that was difficult to avoid when trying to sleep comfortably. This caused poor sleep every single night of our weeklong vacation here. Second - some of the restaurants would be booked out right after they opened; for example, the steakhouse restaurant would have people lining up an hour before it opened at 6 PM. Within minutes of opening, anyone still in line would be denied seating for the rest of the evening, being told that it was booked out for the rest of the night. It is important to note that most of the restaurants in this resort close at 9 PM. There is a buffet that stays open until 10 PM and a 24 hour snack café, other than that the restaurants of which there are several are open from 6 to 9 PM. Third - the hallways were musty smelling and the room had an odd odor. I had unpacked my clothes and put them in the drawers provided. My clothing smelled weird when I’d take them out to wear. I can’t even explain the smell, just sour and old. There was mold in the bathrooms on the shower where the removable shower head clipped in and it was obvious corners were cut. I did like that we could go to the other RIU resort (Palace) connected to this one and eat in the restaurants there, but it was the same situation and set up as Antillas with only one open until 10 pm. There are plenty of activities and excursions available to partake in (excursions are not part of the all inclusive). This is a resort where you have to wake up by 7 am to “claim” your beach or pool spot, so consider yourself warned. Overall I did enjoy my stay but I don’t think I’d come back to RIU again for the reasons mentioned above.

Wedding vacation
The hotel was in a great location, room was spacious, food was very good, and the beach was perfect and central to all. Room was huge compared to the Hilton Aruba Location had free parking and central to main area of bars and shopping. Bartenders for the specialty mini carts and Eddie at the lobby bar were hilarious and excellent drink making skills. Not as lovely as other RiUs but not a bad thing for the atmosphere. Gym was nice and clean and had everything needed and more. The view was also nice from the gym. The cleaning crew and mini bar people were excellent in fulfilling all our requests rights away. Again way better than the Hilton considering the price we paid at the Hilton. Front .desk was great with service and we got early checkin since our flight arrived a little early. Overall we loved it and will be back. Our friends got married at the Hilton but wished they’d of stayed at the RIU after seeing our pics

I'll be back to Aruba but not to this hotel
Dated, cruise-ship-drinking-party atmosphere. Noisy. Not a good fit for us. The room was pretty tired, including the non- functional tv and the unchangeable thermostat, which stayed at 18c/64f degrees. Food was ok, but not noteworthy. By day three we were desperate to eat off site. Lining up for a la carte restaurants (no reservations allowed) was a competitive event. Plenty of friendly, always-working staff.

Girls Trip 2026!!!!
This was my 1st time to Aruba! I’m definitely going back. The Riu is located beachfront & walking distance (5 min) to a lively “strip” with shops, cafes/restaurants/lounges; etc. We stayed @ “adults only” Riu Antillas. All inclusive (buffet, a La carte restaurants, lounges/bars -drinks, snacks)included. We weren’t sure if we’d get into a La carte restaurants upon reading some reviews, however we had 6 dinners all @ a La carte restaurants …not a problem getting in & rarely waited in any line. Rimini -Italian (pretty good), Krystal -French (excellent), Steak House (very good), buffet “Mexican night” food was amazing (huge variety). Breakfast & lunch (main floor buffet) buffets were very good…a lot of variety. Snacks, Lounge 24 available 24/7. White party Fri. night was fun; casino was ok, Few gift shops on site too. Overall atmosphere was great! Staff members nice, friendly. Shout out to Kevin “Elite Customer Service “ he’s the Best; went above & beyond (gave us amazing room with ocean view; assisted us with few extras) The hotel is beach front…beach is clean white sand, ocean clean, white sand; not rough or rocky either. Gorgeous beach!!! Lounge chairs available 7am onwards (tip the guys -chairs locked up) palapas get taken early (grab one by 6am-place beach hats;etc on one) towels 1 per person opens @ 7am. Bring few cheap towels from home if you need to. (Strict towel policy). It’s a windy island; be prepared for blowing trade winds (sand) bring a hat & sun block…..you’re close to equator. Hotel offers free use of floats & snorkeling gear @ beach. Tons of activities (extra fees) located along Palm beach. Safe destination!!! Hotel room clean, view amazing, spacious, balcony with chairs & table, bathroom 10/10 huge mirror with the BEST lighting…”girls if you know you know” ;) Very good pool area with several outdoor bars (tip the bartenders) our only complaint was that there was “no” music playing within beach area. ARUBA is a fabulous vacation destination! 10/10 👍👌🏼
