  Impeccable Service & Food

  We love this resort, and have been here twice now. The service is amazing, the food is fantastic, it's very clean and impressively well-maintained. Overall, it's a fantastic property. However, I wish they would upgrade their mattresses. My husband, kids, and I all left with backpain and did not get a good night's sleep once. We were given 'mattress toppers' after we asked if there was anything they could do to improve the beds, but they only moderately helped. It feels like sleeping on concrete. We had similar issues the last time we came, but hoped that because we had a two-year gap between trips the mattresses would have improved. But, no dice. If we could get a good night's sleep while here, I'd give this resort 6 stars.

  Everything is great at the Riu just wish the food could be better. You have a endless ocean of fish and seafood wish we could have some

  Beautiful Resort

  We had a great experience at the Riu Emerald Bay the staff is what made the experience worth the stay, they were all very friendly and were more than willing to help. The resort is very clean. The pools were very large and warm, lots of loungers both on the beach and pool decks no problem finding a place to relax. The food was decent. Cons: The elevators were extremely slow and would pass by our floor numerous times before stopping, 5th floor we used the stairs lots. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable we had to ask for a topper which helped a bit. The pillows were flat and felt like rags in a bag. They did bring us extra pillows to stack up. The rooms were clean, the shower pressure would die to a dribble and then come back on full then back to a dribble 40 seconds later. Our overall experience at the resort was great if you plan to go downtown its a bit of a drive and will cost you 250 pesos.

  Meh. Just Meh.

  The resort is nice, but a bit tired. It lacks character and we just felt like it was ok, but nothing special. The beach is nice, however having to listen to numerous bands (not associated with the hotel) play random songs every afternoon was pretty annoying. They were playing so loud that it could be heard in the rooms too. The food was ok on regular days. On Christmas Eve the buffet was excellent. When we arrived there was no availability for any of the specialty restaurants. We were lucky that someone was able to take us in to the Chinese restaurant, the food there was pretty good. The room was cleanish, however the sheets were not changed just rotated during our 1 week stay. We ran out of the soap/shampoo combo twice as they didn’t top it up until it was out.

  Couldn't have loved it more!

  First experience at an all-inclusive...truly no extra charges! I can't lie, it ruined all others! The idea was we would go to Riu for 4 days then another 'all-inclusive'. Man, I can't even tell you the standard the Riu hotel set. Beautiful grand common areas, roomy 'standard' suites with a full-stocked, free mini bar with 4 bottles of hard liquor for your dispensing pleasure. (I'm not much of a drinker but I do love a good Pepsi) Food was everywhere, always free...everything was free. A là carte, free. Buffets, free. Mimosas with breakfast, free. All coffees, free. Amazing. Daily adult entertainment, foam parties...music going if you choose...waterslides were great, great! Lots of pools and swim up bars. (Kids club is its least amazing option...have to grab the little ones for them to have lunch(?) not ideal for adult tours and such...shorter hours but caring and engaging staff) Will search out Riu's throughout the globe, literally.
