  Caution/Environmental Fee/Front Desk Staff

  We stayed here as part of a large wedding group (50+ people) and had a very poor experience. Front Desk staff were dishonest about the Environmental Fee, insisting it had to be paid in cash and overcharging guests (actual fee in Benito Juárez is 62.50 MXN per night per room). One room had a bed infested with moth larvae, which is unacceptable. Food was mostly mediocre and entertainment was basically non-existent.

  DO NOT STAY AT OCEAN RIVIERA PARADISE. This resort stole from our wedding guests and then refused to take responsibility. My wife and I had 55 guests staying here for our wedding. About 35 arrived together, same dates, same room types — yet everyone was charged a different “environmental fee” with no explanation. Some paid $15–$40 USD, others $30–$60 USD, and some were charged up to $120 USD for the exact same stay. The front desk staff who checked us in had no name tags, forced guests to pay cash only, refused card payments, and gave no receipts. Huge red flag. We raised this all week. A manager named Lilianna said she would check the security cameras, then spent days claiming she was “still waiting on footage.” How does it take a week to review front desk cameras? On the last day, a supervisor named Ximena admitted the money was “gone” and that front desk staff had stolen it. Let that sink in. The resort admitted theft and still did nothing to refund guests. At checkout, invoices didn’t match what people actually paid — for every room. Being in the hospitality business, the front desk staff and managers showed zero hospitality, zero accountability, and zero professionalism. They were very rude & dismissive. The only positive: the servers and bartenders were kind and professional, which only made management look worse. Ocean Riviera Paradise cannot be trusted with weddings, group bookings, or guest money.

  Terrible experience — absolutely do NOT stay here. This resort is robbing guests and openly admitted to it. My husband and I had 55 guests stay here because we were having our wedding nearby. About 35 of us arrived together, yet every single person and room was charged a different “environmental fee,” even though we all stayed the exact same dates and had the exact same room type. Charges ranged from $15–$40 USD for single occupancy, $30–$60 USD for double, and $120 USD for triple occupancy — with no consistency whatsoever. The front desk refused to let anyone pay by card, and no one was given a receipt. We raised this issue multiple times throughout our week-long stay and were never given a proper explanation or resolution. Instead, supervisors were rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help. On our last day, a supervisor named Ximena admitted that the money “was gone” and that front desk staff had stolen it — and that the employee was conveniently fired. At checkout, we requested invoices, and of course the listed environmental fees did not match what was actually paid. This happened to every single room in our group. This was dishonest, unprofessional, and incredibly stressful — especially during our wedding week. Do not stay here, and absolutely do not trust this resort with weddings or large group bookings. Without question, the worst vacation experience I’ve ever had.

  Fantastic Mexican holiday

  From the moment we arrived as a Privlege customer we were treated very well and made welcome. No negatives at all, we stayed ten days, room lovely, big screen tv, mini bar replenished daily, shower was good and bed comfortable and spotless throughout. All staff gave excellent service and were helpful and friendly. Loved the resort was all on a flat surface. With special thanks to Butlers Poole and Xavier, Ivan the barman in the Privlege lounge and Daniella in the lounge who took us to our table each morning for breakfast and Llizbeth Beso pool waitress. We are aiming to return January 2027!
