It was me and my wife 16th Wedding Anniversary. Can't wait to come back and bring my son. Everything was conveniently located. Just beautiful even the people.

Bargain Resort With Quality Standards

I'll keep this review brief but hopefully information dense. The location is perfect and directly West of Cozumel (you can see the island in the distance). The resort was kept very clean and maintenance was being conducted behind the scenes every single day (even painting and trimming the plants). The pools are a plenty but fill up quickly (except the Daisy pool which is for kids). The beach is spacious but also fills quickly. Rocky bottom to the water with some soft patches of sand. Also a good amount of seaweed. Staff is generous, kind and very helpful. Never once did they seem overwhelmed or irritated. If you can, book Privlege because upgrading at the hotel is expensive and you're going to want to have the perks. This includes ability to make reservations for the primo restaurants. All restaurants are well kept but the food is bland and not what you would expect. Same with the coffee and ice cream. Entertainment of varying degrees every day and night and the entire resort is walkable at any time of day or night with no concerns. The wild monkeys and raccoon-like creatures are very cool but please (please) do not feed them. Continuous feeding will wreak havoc on the guests over time and ruin this resort. Besides, you're essentially killing the animals by making them rely exclusively on human interaction. In all, if you're looking for a deal and want to know exactly what to expect, this place is for you.

Good Times! - March 2019 Stay

Ocean Riviera Paradise is one of the largest resorts we have ever stayed at along the Yucatan. We stayed at the El Beso (adults only) side of the resort. It had all the great amenities that you would assume come along with an all-inclusive stay. The Junior Suite was spacious and up to date with a trendy decor! The only downfall was that the room held onto moisture. The leather couches were always slightly damp and the air in the room, thick, even with air conditioning and a de-humidifier. The ceiling fan, along with the AC, was our biggest ally in combating the humidity. The beach and pool were always a bit crowded, but we had sun and a beautiful breeze at all times! I would recommend getting down to both before 9am to claim your chairs and umbrellas for the day. We read some reviews regarding water shoes, and yes, the ocean is a bit rocky in front of the resort, but once you swim a few feet off the shore, you can enjoy the turquoise waters comfortably! During the afternoons, the pool had some choice music that wasn't always very relaxing, but certainly fun for a younger crowd. *Side note - the beach crew that rented out the catamarans were extremely accommodating and full of friendly energy! We had the opportunity to sail on multiple days! The variety of food was excellent! The indoor buffet offered something for every pallet. Along the beach there was an always changing spread and freshly baked pizza selection. There were multiple, fully stocked, bars within a few feet walk, as well. Along the pool was also a rotating selection with sushi options and even a pop-up fiesta! The cocktail servers, at both the beach & pool, were always attentive and very friendly! The best restaurant, by far, was Blue Moon! Hence, the mandatory shoes and pants requirement. The coffee house and ice cream parlor were also a fabulous additional to this all-inclusive! Overall, not many complaints! We were very lucky to get amazing weather and find some much needed R & R during our stay.

Ocean Riviera Paradise-Nice Place

The resort was very nice and clean. It is well maintained and comfortable to get around.About 40 mins from the airport just North of Playa Del Carmen. Elevators/Ramps are everywhere so no problem for those with disabilities. Beach is a little too small for this size of resort. But, more then enough pools to make up for it. The food options at the resort were numerous; however, the quality of the food was just 'Ok'. I can't say that any of the a la catres were any better then the others. The buffet was busy and the staff had a hard time keeping up. You won't go hungry, but don't expect 5 Star restaurant quality. Also, the a la carte service was rather slow, but we weren't in a hurry to go anywhere. The biggest disappointment was the beach grill at lunch time. The menu never changes, same food everyday 7 days a week. That gets old after awhile. There is a pizza shop on the beach as well that was very good though. Bar service was excellent and the staff likes to interact with their customers. Our room was in the Eden w/pool-ocean view section with a roof top terrace. The big advantage to this was to our surprise was a second full bath up there! Bonus for folks with families! We were Privileged and that does come with a lot of extras. Well worth the extra cost. Overall, we would consider going back to ORP, but only if the food situation improved.
